Whitby Oshawa Honda is awesome! I just bought my Si coupe off them

I picked up my Si Coupe last Tuesday after driving a '95 Toyota pickup for 24 years!! Its a lot of car for the money and at my age will be the last new car I own.
I have a 2019 S I and I couldn't be happier. I love the sound of the turbocharged motor so much I sometimes prefer it to Sirius radio. Thanks for the review.
Do Si fans have any idea what the car is all about? The Si was never meant to be a world beater. If you want tons of HP and torque, go get a GT Mustang and be done with it. The Si is a fun drivers car. It's not fast, but it's quick. You can throw it around curvy roads and have a blast and it'll beg for more. As for everyone saying that, whatever generation Si they're driving currently, is the best, that's antiquated thinking. I've owned an 8th and 9th generation Si and the power and torque of the 10th generation bests both of them. Multiple dyno videos have shown that Honda underrated the power numbers on the 10th generation Si. The interior of the new Si is far superior to the last two generations. It also has more technology, better infotainment. Oh and it has a little thing called adaptive damping suspension. Oh...oh...and it gets 40mpg on the highway. The only fault I see with the new Si is the garbage rear bumper on the sedan, but the coupe solves that issue. You keep your high revving VTEC and I'll take the far superior 10th generation.
Been a honda driver for years, Id rather have usable torque over a high reving engine with no go till 4-5k rpm or so. High reving is fun and all but torque is more betterer. Yes a Honda engine with TORQUE! :)
Spenser Hawk If you would have mentioned their competition it would make sense since they have higher numbers and no oversteer for around the same price.
VTEC had no low end torque. Horrible for normal driving. VW always had more accessible punch. That is what the new SI has. Plus sport mode, great looks, great gas and only $23k in US. That is a steal!
Just bought a 19 si coupe. Fell in love with it when I test drove it. Between how smooth it is to drive and how comfortable the sport seats are, I just couldn’t say no. Now to put a Greddy exhaust on it and some nicer tires and wheels
As someone who owned a 4th gen Si hatch back in the day, I wish they would offer the Si in hatch form again. It's what kept me from buying one back in 2013 since the Si only comes in coupe or sedan. Ended up with a Fit Sport instead. Yes, nowhere near as powerful, but ironically, power and handling wise it drives very much like that 4th gen Si I loved so much! And it's a HATCH!!
I love the cold Start channel! I have a silver 2017 Si sedan and have loved it!!! I have owned 4 different Si models since 2009 and they have all been sedans!! My 2017 has 9000 miles on it and I am waiting for my Type R to come in! I have never had problems with any of my Honda’s and they bring great trade in value each time I upgraded!!
No more VTEC, but it does have a more aggressive VTC... which is VTEC for all RPMs. Anyone who knows anything doesn't care about anything but a nice car that's reliable and fun to drive.
It was actually the integra that cranked more HP per liter than any other NA engine with the B18C1 at the time and that record lasted for many years. Your right about the SI being different too...I have always liked SI only come in manual and 4 door as an option is awesome. That 1.5T is not nearly the same as the other 1.5T engines with better tune, turbo etc. 205hp is awesome out of that and some Hondata can up that number. Cool bang for the buck.
Ovi S well a lot of people doesn’t agree on that all I can say Is honda is my taste and one of the most reliable car on the car market, statement from a family own 5 honda cars.
I just bought one, picking it up in 2 days. I guess for someone like me who never experienced vtech (unless the 2010 accord touring had vtech) i'll be okay lol but i am excited it's my first manual car.
breaking 100hp/L in a turbo is not how the record works... its 100hp per effective litre, running 2bar of boost means your 1.5L has 3L effective displacement, needs to have 300HP to hit the same mark
Excellent review , I have owned a 2003 /2007 and 2013 SI's all bought brand new . Honda has done the chassis and spec right on this one except for the Big one, NO VTEC , without it you have taken away the driving dynamics , the sound and the feel like you command the car. It's a shame . I have no love for the 1.5LT as i have a 2018 CRV Touring right now and not happy with it for the obvious reasons.
I’m looking to lease this vehicle, what’s the lowest monthly payment I can get for this car with 0 down and 1k the highest, with the money factor and residual value, tax and all that allocated
I love your reviews. So much passion. This Civic Si is the car old BMW drivers should drive now. Manual only. I agree, I miss the VTEC too. Love cloth interior and new volume knob. Wish they put back the tuning knob too. Only thing in design I still don’t like, are those black meshes. Great vehicle otherwise.
Great review man. Hope you do some other ones. As for Honda, it would've been great if they increased the engine displacement slightly. The standard 1.8L engine with an added turbo and vtec would have made this a killer Si. They could have gotten the power to 225 Hp/ 210 Lb ft.
What I don't understand is how Canada gets the Si with LED's, Navigation and heated rear seats and if I'm not mistaken even a heated steering wheel for 31,000 Canadian which is around 23K USD. Why in the world can't we get it spec'd like that in the US ? We pay more but get less features. Wonder what BS regulations in our country drive up prices.
I hope that you don't actually think that a shark-fin antenna is for an "added sporty element." Edit: great review, though. nice to see a fellow Canadian reviewing. I just recently got a brand-new 2019 Civic Touring.
Why are people saying the Si's have heated rear seats for the Canadian model? I live in Canada and I have an Si and my car doesn't have the heated rear seats.

I think it has potential to be a great performance vehicle if you want to add on some bolt-ons and get it re-tuned. But in terms of styling, utility and fuel economy, it's a pretty good balance; and I love the fact that it only comes in manual. As for the exhaust, a four cylinder's sound can only go so far.

I’m in the market for the si, I’ve wanted one for 20 years. I’m just worried about the reliability in the long run with 205hp in a 1.5L engine. I always keep cars for 8-9 years before I get another one so I hope it has the same reliability as the typical base engines.
Get a 9th gen, or if u need a turbo 4-banger, go GTI, Ford ST, or WRX over the new SI's.. the New SI's are literally a revamped, strengthened Honda Fit with a turbo.. The reliability wont be there and they are no where near as good as a 8th or 9th gen with the k20/k24.. Personally. Id grab a mint 8th gen, and use the 10K u save over buying a 10th gen to make the 8th gen a monster. You could build the block, head, and trans, and have money left over to buy a full power train warranty on ur car and mods, and probably still be able to buy rims and suspension lol.. Its a no brainer in my opinion lol
This SI is the best SI ever without a doubt but I feel as though they took some of its essence/character by not keeping exhaust vtec just like they did with the type R engine.
I was in the market for an si and I’m not buying it just because of that. The back bumper definitely ruins the rest of the car. Going to have to wait and see if the 2021 design is better.
I'll take my 07 gen 8 FA5 rear flat floor VTEC non heated front & back seats, no back up camera, no fog lights, no heated mirrors, no navigation, no bluetooth, no direct ipod radio hook up, no G force meter, no non fuel cap for fuel, no one tap to open the fuel door, no lane change warning safety feature over the new si any day
lies ,, and i cant even see your face. I still know you're lying....Ill take a 12 year old antiquated piece of tech over a better version that does way more any day, not to mention it looks better, safer, and its NEW.....see its like you needed attention

Honda needs to get rid of those black bumper inserts and go back to a clean bumper
I was in the market for an si and I’m not buying it just because of that. The back bumper definitely ruins the rest of the car. Going to have to wait and see if the 2021 design is better.
@@ValkenDnB see if they can put a regular civic rear bumper on it
I just ran one of these on the highway. It's decently quick and sounds really good.
Boooo I want the VTec because Vtec no no tec. #HondaGang.
S2000 did it off of normally aspirated engine didn’t it? Though it was 120 hp per liter...off memory
Danny Scofield that’s not really a daily driver car you can drive to work and back that’s a weekend car
It was 123hp I think... but it wasn't the first. SR16VE N1 was, with around 120 I believe.
Good reveiw
Rip to the true Si civics
Great oil dilution engine and loss of hp with tiny engine
Personally I prefer the 9th gens
Is this the Canadian version ?
I didn't get those led headlights
-Sanada - yes! Canadian.
@@ColdStart that is really messed up, I would pay extra for those led headlights. Does Canadian version cost more?
@@Js-ge3ez I agree! The Civic Si is about $31,500 here CAD
Sorry but it wouldnt be a honda without a vtec.
Not gonna buy this just because no VTEC hopefully it comes back :(
I'll take my 07 gen 8 FA5 rear flat floor VTEC non heated front & back seats, no back up camera, no fog lights, no heated mirrors, no navigation, no bluetooth, no direct ipod radio hook up, no G force meter, no non fuel cap for fuel, no one tap to open the fuel door, no lane change warning safety feature over the new si any day
lies ,, and i cant even see your face. I still know you're lying....Ill take a 12 year old antiquated piece of tech over a better version that does way more any day, not to mention it looks better, safer, and its NEW.....see its like you needed attention
Did you get paid by how many times you said aggressive?
Does this have automatic rev matching?
No
What, no VTEC?
