This trim is actually more of a sport-looking with practical daily-drive purpose. Without the turbo, the maintain cost is going to be lower than the ones with it. And it is only 1k2 CAD more than the EX trim (I am in Canada,) with the 18 rims, "exhaust," "paddle-shifter," and fog-light. It is quite a good deal to upgrade.
@Nessa yea makes it go faster it has paddle shifters which makes it fun to down shift I have one it’s stock currently but if you know how to workem you’ll be surprised how fast it is
I drove them both as well and the manual completely changed the car for me personally, a much more engaging experience. I ended up purchasing a 2020 Modern Steel Metallic Sport sedan with the 6 speed manual 👍🏻
I love the blue color!! Honda has truly up their game in the past few years. Really giving drivers what they want. You look like you’re enjoying that weather 😊 Great review 👍🏽
Honda continues the trend of no longer resting on their laurels, a practice that afflicted the brand for several years. The new Civic looks to be a great choice for new drivers (and their parents) with standard safety and driver assistance features and adequate power for most drivers. The CVT will disappoint some but for the vast majority of consumers who don't want to shift their own gears it's literally invisible.
Yep you’re right about that! Good points. Overall for most people it will give them exactly what they are looking for. Thanks for the input and watching!
I love it when people I meet complain about horsepower and other crap about racing. Yo, this is a stock Honda Civic. This is a fuel efficient, economic car. You're in the wrong place if you're trying to do quarter miles with a stock vehicle.
Same here I traded my charcoal grey 2015 Titan 4x4 SV(12mpg city) with a/c just replaced and with trans slipping like crazy with coolant leaking in with trans/oil stay away! Love my certified pre-owned 2019 civic 1.5 T in charcoal grey!
Dang, really love that blue color! The Civic really is one good-looking car for $22K! Loved the split camera design for the test drive. I've never seen a channel do that before. Really unique! Keep up the great work 👍🏻 and Happy Thanksgiving dude!
Thanks guys! Appreciate you stopping by. I like the blue color too and especially the different black accents to make it a bit more unique. You guys keep it up too and Happy Thanksgiving!
Just got this car in a manual same color too it’s great and 158 hp feels faster cause a cvt slows it down but this isn’t a slow car for anyone saying it is it’s a fun and quick daily
Good looking car. Really just a 18 sedan with the Sport hatch look & wheels & Si type exhaust. The Si is getting harder to recognize. If this car had the 180 HP turbo, the Si fans would be screaming!!
No kidding, it’d be nice if they pushed out a little more power from this engine but I get it..don’t want to impede on the Si or other turbo models...still not a bad car
Nah, only the si has the spoiler and the red si badge.... UNLESS you have that one dude who buys the civic spoiler and slaps the si emblem on a base civic coupe/sedan. Lol
It's weird how different the sport trim is in Canada. The sport trim is right under the touring model. It comes with moon roof heated mirrors, the right lane camera and remote start. Got this in red and I love it!
Angelica C how much monthly payments? I’m working part time but it’s a for sure job that I can stay another 2 years until I’m down with my trade school.
I saw this video earlier, but great video. I plan to get one just this one. I see you must have just edited the video regarding the stereo system. The LX has the base 5" non touch screen radio, with 4 speakers, and 160 watts. The Sport Hatchback has the Honda Sense like all Civics for 2029, but still has this base radio system, no keyless entry and push button start, and the decent Continental tires for some reason, instead of the slightly better Goodyear Eagle Sport tires on the Sport Sedan and Coupe/Si, as well as the keyless entry/push button start, and the 7" undated touch screen radio with physical buttons and volume knob, 8 speakers and 180 watts. The Sport Hatchback still cost more than the Sport Sedan and Coupe because of the body style and turbo engine, but will lacks the above mentioned features. People often say why the Sport Sedan and Coupe doesn't have the Turbo engine, and also, why these and the Sport Hatchback does not have other options and features. For one, in these two body styles, they already have the Si for the more serious enthusiast that want the performance and possibly intend to modify and tune it, as well as the Sport Hatchback and fully optioned Sport Touring Hatchback. The Sport models follow the old school muscle car trend of offering most of the performance and sport appearance equipment with less options and trim appointments to be more affordable. Personally this is perfect for me, as I live in Honolulu, HI. And don't need the heated outside mirrors, electric seat adjustments, moonroof, and dual zone climate control system. The hatchback has more utility cargo space, but the sedan still has a lot. I am an enthusiast, but don't need the extra horsepower, and don't plan to modify this car much. With the 2.0L non turbo engine, I believe Honda intentionally put it in the Sport Sedan and Coupe, with a sporty, but more toned down appearance than the Si and Sport Hatchback to be a more practical mainstream car for those that like it well equipped, sporty looking, with decent performance, suspension and handling, but may be more for families with different drivers of varying age. Also, the non turbo engine has more reliability, dependability and longevity, with less potential turbo related problems and the fuss of extra attention to warm up the engine and cool down before shut off to care for the turbo. Also, the Sport Sedan and Coupe has the nicer added simulated leather trim the seats, to the seats, the leather/simulated leather door armrests and center console armrest coverings instead of the cloth ones on the Sport Hatchback, and the nice black golf ball dimpled dashboard trim to be different from the also nice simulated carbon fiber dashboard trim in the Sport Hatchbacks. Options and accessories can customize this car to the owners preference, including different wheels, interior and exterior color trim choices, and lower front and side body parts. Also, the aftermarket performance and appearance parts are also available. I just wish this had a CD Player, and, or at least an auxiliary audio input jack. The turn signals on the outside mirrors would also be nice, and dual map pickets for the rear of the front seats, though there still may be strap on black nylon storage caddies to offer similar storage utility for various items . The Red JDM Honda badges for the grille, trunk lid and steering wheel like on the Type R can make it look even sportier, along with legal smoke window tint, clear license plate covers and black metal frames.
much love from san diego :) used to live in forney a few years ago :) just got this car alllll black and just got 5% tint and 12% tint on the front windows:) so black on black on BLACK looks amazing and slick!!
it's not emergency braking .. it's called "collision mitigation system" it helps you mitigate the chance of frontal collision in case you follow too close to the vehicle ahead of you. also it detects pedestrians
I'm debating on the 2019 Sport (Red) with CVT with only 3,600k miles on it. Or the 2020 6 Manual (NEW)..White. Also they have a nice 2018 black Coupe LX-P with 6,800 miles, so some pretty good choices. Leaning towards the Red Sport 2019, miles, price, options. I think. Your thoughts?
Picked up almost the exact car. I got the one with the all black rims/tint. I really love the car except for the sound system. Would it kill Honda to supply us with an 8" sub and some kind of decent surrounds? My Sonata had a better stock system. Same with my Tiburon. Regardless, love the car. Thanks for your review as I watched it prior to buying. :)
Just purchased this exact model. Was wondering if the R type engine is compatible with the CVT transmission or if I’ll have to get the manual transmission. I want a sleeper Sport.
I have a sport touring hatchback coming in, in blue. Test drove this with the 2 litre, and the hatch with the 1.5, and after driving the 1.5 I couldn’t go back to the gutless 2.0. I probably would have gotten this if they actually put a fun engine in it to match its look.
Yeah - you're absolutely right. Honda probably didn't want it to overshadow the SI. They're stupid for not keeping the turbo trims (EXT and EXT With Honda Sensing in Canada) other than the Touring. Edit: Honda Sensing is standard, I guess, so they should've just kept the EXT trim.
How’s the drive? I test drove and felt like with the wheels being bigger it was more of a bumpy ride. Will those tires hold up well since the rim is bigger? I drove the LX and seemed more of a solid, smoother ride. Any input?
I haven’t driven the other trims but I can only guess the LX was a better ride with those wheels/tires. Not sure about how well the tires hold up but bigger wheel usually means more $$ for the tire too
Thanks for the great video i like how you review and then tak it for a spin and talk about drive dynamics ! I will get one I like this better then new Corolla se way better performance
In my opinion, this is the Civic to get until Honda sorts out the issues with the 1.5T. Even though I know it's apparently effecting only a very small percentage of those engines (I've been told), I'm not sure how I like those odds. All in all, great car. I'll have mine with the 6MT though ;)
@@PrimeAutotainment I know that if someone were to buy a 1.5T, odds are they would be totally fine. Especially when you consider just how many of those cars Honda sells. But, apparently Honda does have a fix so we'll see how that goes.

Would you know if there'll be much a difference with the 2019 civic EX from the 2018 Civic EX-T? They're supposed to be the same trim. Oh and is there truth to the news that the 2019 civics have lost the side mirror camera for the right blind side assist?
I would think they are basically the same for features..can’t remember. Honda sensing is now standard. It does actually keep the lane watch camera, but the EX is the first trim to get it
I got a question, I’m 18 and I haven’t ever had a car before but I think this one is probably one I’d like to own in the future, on average how much would it cost to own a civic sport per month with insurance and all that, I’m hoping someone who owns a car like this or this car will get back to me with some feedback thanks
Hey Everyone, looking Help what's should be average fuel for full tank , i have America Honda 2019 sports at UAE and it gives average 9KM/hr . i have checked the plugs its good and now should i go to clean the catalyst , any suggestion would be appreciated.
The Sport will add the 7” touch screen with Apple CarPlay / Android Auto, center exhaust outlet, leather steering wheel, smart key with push button start, fog lights, 18” wheels. Maybe a couple others but those for sure. Depends if you want those! I would bump up to a Sport if it were me
Hi everyone! Can anybody vehicle expert guide me here? I am already using HONDA CIVIC LX 2018 CVT which provides me 34 combined MPG (31city, 40 hwy) but i am planning to switch to HONDA CIVIC SPORT 2020 CVT regular which provides 32 combined MPG (29 city, 37 hwy). So should i still consider 2020 Sport? 2nd question! In SPORT 2020 regular is ok with 87 fuel but if i am in SPORT MODE so recommended fuel should be 93 so what if i don't use SPORT MODE in case so i am ok with 87 fuel?
I have a honda (ex), I must say the lane assist camera on the right mirror is more of a gimmick. I still have to take my eyes off the road to see if I am clear looking at the screen. I like the idea, but don't be sold on this. People are impressed by the camera, but it's actually pointless. Also, there are 3 angles for the reverse camera. Wide, normal and birds eye. The bird eye view is terrible and gives you really bad judgment, meaning you are actually further from the subject than you actually are. I do apologize for being negative, but the car is still great and super fun to drive in sport mode and the gas milage is good. If you do have sport mode you have to put 91 octane for the gas. Good video but just notes from my experience.
I’m so late. but do you happen or anyone in the comments know the exhaust or muffler this sport sedan uses? I’m trying to get it on my LX but can’t see my to find it
anyone aware if you can get analog instruments? Currently interesting the civic sport but not a fan of digital everything.... yea I know, old fashioned
why in canada for the sport one we have the camera on the right mirror, the sunroof, armrest in the middle backseat and when we take it automatic we have a semi-automatic mod all by default
Yes it is. Can’t remember how much or what all is on it, but I know tinted windows, the pinstripe, and a couple other things are on there. I’m with you completely...don’t like that additional stuff for extra money.
On your main touch screen, find the settings area and see if there’s a setting you can adjust for lights. Not sure if it’s in there but some vehicles have a setting for that
May I ask what type of gas would you put in this…I just bought a 2019 sport sedan and I’ve been reading some use higher than 87…some say 87 is ok to use….I’m confused
Was it when you got close to a vehicle in front of you? That could have been the car sensing a collision and it was warning you to brake. That would be the collision mitigation system, you can adjust it or turn it off if you want. If that wasn’t it, and the light is still on..I’d take it to the dealer. It might be a glitch. Either way it’d be covered by the warranty
No manual in the EX and above models, come on Honda, I will not have a CVT period! No sunroof? why didn't they increase the horse power for the sport trim?
Thanks for watching! What do you think of this Sport trim for the Civic?

Would you know if there'll be much a difference with the 2019 civic EX from the 2018 Civic EX-T? They're supposed to be the same trim. Oh and is there truth to the news that the 2019 civics have lost the side mirror camera for the right blind side assist?
I would think they are basically the same for features..can’t remember. Honda sensing is now standard. It does actually keep the lane watch camera, but the EX is the first trim to get it
Do you have to drive with sports mode or put the shift to D for drive
Since this model doesn’t have the turbo does it have VTEC?
yes
Nope it has ivtec though
No tf is a ivtec?
So if put it in sport mode I won’t have to touch the paddles I can leave in sport?
Is there a way to change the ugly red of the infotainment and dash?
I got a question, I’m 18 and I haven’t ever had a car before but I think this one is probably one I’d like to own in the future, on average how much would it cost to own a civic sport per month with insurance and all that, I’m hoping someone who owns a car like this or this car will get back to me with some feedback thanks
Hey Everyone,
looking Help what's should be average fuel for full tank , i have America Honda 2019 sports at UAE and it gives average 9KM/hr . i have checked the plugs its good and now should i go to clean the catalyst , any suggestion would be appreciated.
This is the one I want 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Go get it 😁
I am considering getting one, but the CVT makes me wary.
It’s available with a 6 speed manual, the only way to go!
2020 was the last year for the manual however, no longer an option on the 2021 models ☹️
Can you film Civic Tyre R?
I actually tried last year but since I was new to this stuff they wouldn’t let me take it off the showroom floor. Maybe I can now!
Volume knob back 2019
Does the sport have an auxiliary plug-in?
I just got the Lx .... I'm thinking of switching to the sport ...... is there a big difference??
The Sport will add the 7” touch screen with Apple CarPlay / Android Auto, center exhaust outlet, leather steering wheel, smart key with push button start, fog lights, 18” wheels. Maybe a couple others but those for sure. Depends if you want those! I would bump up to a Sport if it were me
I have one in red , I just don't like they cheaped out on rear cup holders & armrest like come on at the very least give me that!
No doubt, can’t believe that!
Can't keep everyone happy
How's the audio?
Can you change the interior illumination from red to blue ?
That blue is beautiful im getting honda sometime around tax time i was thinking a grey but that blue got me thinking
That’s sweet! The blue definitely stands out..:you’ll probably have to see them in person. Have fun picking one out 😁
@@PrimeAutotainment im definitely going there too look at them
When you pick one out, stop back here and let me know what you got and how you like it if you remember
Can we change the speedometer color from red to blue?
That car has to be all black to be any kind of attractive. I usually don’t do all black vehicles, but this car needs some help lol.
I don’t see many black civics but I agree it would look good!
Look at this one, since they all have black grills now, it looks soo sleek and stealth. I love it th-cam.com/video/cRomaIjdrJA/w-d-xo.html
Yep for sure, I like it!
I just bought the 19 sport in black and it is unbelievably beautiful. It looks like an exotic sports car.
Thanks for the input Michael! Yeah a regular blind spot monitor would be better...I’d think they would get rid of the camera next redesign..
I’m so late. but do you happen or anyone in the comments know the exhaust or muffler this sport sedan uses? I’m trying to get it on my LX but can’t see my to find it
What grade of fuel does this model supposed to take?
anyone aware if you can get analog instruments? Currently interesting the civic sport but not a fan of digital everything.... yea I know, old fashioned
Regular or premium?
why in canada for the sport one we have the camera on the right mirror, the sunroof, armrest in the middle backseat and when we take it automatic we have a semi-automatic mod all by default
US and Canada trims are different. Don't know why but there you have it. Canada also gets heated mirrors (we need it).
Is that an additional dealer mark up label next to the Factory window sticker? No way am I paying over sticker for a Honda.
Yes it is. Can’t remember how much or what all is on it, but I know tinted windows, the pinstripe, and a couple other things are on there. I’m with you completely...don’t like that additional stuff for extra money.
My headlights are not automatically turning on when i use the remote starter. Help 🥺
87. Honda strongly recommends, and you should really only use 91+ octane for the Sport (Hatch) Sport Touring (hatch), Si, and Type R.
@@matthewalexis awesome thanks I only have the sedan no turbo and have been putting in 87
my dash pop up as brake system orange? does that mean anything?
Was it when you got close to a vehicle in front of you? That could have been the car sensing a collision and it was warning you to brake. That would be the collision mitigation system, you can adjust it or turn it off if you want. If that wasn’t it, and the light is still on..I’d take it to the dealer. It might be a glitch. Either way it’d be covered by the warranty
@@PrimeAutotainment thanks for the quick reply!
You’re welcome!
Which one is better the EX or this one in the video?
Depends if you want a few more features and a turbo on the EX or not 🤷♂️
No manual in the EX and above models, come on Honda, I will not have a CVT period! No sunroof? why didn't they increase the horse power for the sport trim?
Yeah it’s a bummer. Probably because they didn’t want to infringe on the SI...and keep costs down but still
I recently just purchased it and I love itB
That’s awesome, happy to hear it! 👍
Just bought a civic sport
