Touring is their heaviest trim with emphasis on luxury. It's got all the plush plush foofy stuff in it. Sunroof, leather electric seats, all the little high tech sensors, blind spot detectors, automated everything, screen gauges instead of the needle from the lower models, same screen system as the Si but instead of red it's displayed in a light blue surround. It is only available in automatic. It doesn't come with any of the aesthetic exterior accessories like the under body trim or the sideskirts and lips and spoilers, so other than the sun roof and fog lights it will look like the lowest model on the outside. Then the engine only has 170hp as it lacks the exhaust, different turbine and fuel management settings in the computer.

I heard these "Earth Dream Technology" engines deliver the fuel with so much pressure that it causes reverse blow-by and gasoline gets into the oil and dilutes it which can cause your engine to wear out faster. But since they only use full synthetic, the best thing to do is simply change your oil every 5,000 instead of 7,500-10,000 and you should be all good. Great detailed review. If I'm ever a passenger in the backseat of a vehicle, there's nothing more annoying than trying to get in the back seat of a coupe. If you never plan on driving around with more than 1 person get the coupe. Otherwise get the 4 door. Your passengers will thank you.

The only version of this Si worth buying is the coupe. The rear bumper is so hideous on the sedan. I'm also not a fan of the mirror cam. It's not needed, imo. I would trade off that camera for more padding inside. I have owned both generations of the Si before this version and I'm hesitant to buy this one due to the problems Honda is having with oil dilution. If they can figure it out, I'm sold on the coupe. Honestly, what other car that's going to come with that much power AND active suspension damping for $25k??? The car is a bargain. The car is fun and quick. It's not fast. If you want blaring speed, spend another $15k and get a GT Mustang. Other than the oil dilution issues, I can't find any other faults. Great mileage, quick engine and one of the best manual transmissions on the market on any brand. Curious what the mid cycle refresh will look like. Hopefully they focus on that sedan bumper.

@@soultaker840 it's a real issue with all turbo direct injection engines. The problem is gasoline getting down into the oil crankcase, especially when it's really cold outside and/or you make short trips and don't give the car time to warm up properly. If you want your engine to last, do NOT rely on the maintenance minder to tell you when you should change your oil. Change it at the 5,000 to 7,000 mile interval. No longer. Use high quality full synthetic oil. And when you start the car, do NOT let it sit and idle to warm up. Crank it and drive it. That's the fastest way to get the engine up to running temperature. Idling a cold engine causes the gasoline blowby worse than anything else. And check your oil at every fill up. If you notice your oil level climbing higher on the dipstick at each fill up and you haven't added any oil, that means it's getting diluted. Change the oil asap if that happens. Follow that and you'll be fine. I have to do this with our 2017 Escape with the 2.0 Ecoboost. 57,000 miles in and she runs great. Stay on top of it and it'll last you years and years.

Go coupe! It's a great choice and you can't go wrong with it. Yeah, getting people in is gonna be an extra 30 seconds but the space inside is identical. The sedan does have about 2 more inches of headroom due to the coupe's fastback design. Other than that the sedan has a bit of extra trunk space which makes up the majority of it's extra length. People say having more weight on the rear (sedan) is good but people also say a lower center of gravity (coupe) is good. The differences are miniscule. But the coupe looks infinitely better in person. It stands out as a nice car, but the sedan doesn't.

A couple years back when I was an engineer for Honda, I rented out the 09 si and it was incredible. The gear shift feel was on point, the clutch placement was perfect for heel and toe and the 2.4L NA engine was a blast. I had so much fun driving it, that was the only car I rented out from Honda. I had a new respect for Honda. I test drove the 2018 si expecting something similar but was left shocked at how watered down it was compared to the old one. The pedal placement made it hard for heel and toe and the clutch pedal had no feel to it. That being said the shifter was excellent like the old one. I didn't enjoy the new turbo engine because it felt like it ran out of breath early and exhaust note wasn't great. All things being said, the new one is a very civil and reliable car and I think you can't go wrong if you choose to buy one or not. Drive one and see what you think.
