My wife thought I had lost my mind because I would often take off to the woods to wander around alone. When I got home, i'd talk about the nature sounds, the healing properties. I learnt that from my grandmother who was a full blood native american. While deer hunting, I would often just sit for hours, watching and enjoying mother nature instead of hunting. I invited my wife on an outdoors adventure and now she is hooked. When covid hit me, with the media scare and thinking the worst, I escaped into the wild and set up a shelter, telling my wife if covid is going to kill me, then let it happen while i'm free out in nature. Sounds silly, but I felt at peace.
Hi Luke! Thank you first for taking me camping again. I mentioned before that I am an invalid. Mostly bedridden. I can handle brief times on my feet and maybe a short trip to the market. Never mind about that! I ❤ the trips with you...or Joe .....or Steve....or Matt. The 4 of you keep me tramping through the woods or paddling up a river or creek (crick). Luke👍👍🏕 Of course an overnighter at the shed would be great, even in disrepair condition. Renovating the shed would be a good video series as well. Renewing that old stove would be cool too. I detest dehydrated/freeze dried foods, survival or emergency use only and yeah it has it's place in the backpacking world, but for short trips to the woods fresh rules. Great video, thanks. Enjoy!

Hey Don please hang in there and God Bless. 5 years ago I was given a couple months to live after being diagnosed with a very large brain tumor. I'm happy to say I'm doing good after surgery and I kept my eyesight. It's a struggle every day but I'm alive with Hope's to someday meet and camp with the Lone Wolf. Hod Bless Tony W

The time alone outside was better for my health mentally and physically. COVID had nothing me for sure. Thanks for all you do!

New roof on the shed, with a little overhang (2 foot) above the opening. Install a level(ish) wood floor. Then place the stove centrally located on the shorter wall of the shed. Done. (Potentially close off the open wall later).
So sorry to hear Donny has gone from us but great to know he felt the love and prayers from all of us wolfpackers. God keep you in His hands at this time.

Hi Luke, I would build up this shed a little, to cover the biggest wholes and may be a better door or something like that. LOVE THE RAIN ON THE TARP (as long as the moisture stays on the proper side!) Camp cooking was always a big thing for my family and me. Often I made beef stew. I did lamb or pork shish kebab. On car camp trips, breakfast included pancakes and bacon with New York State maple syrup. (There is such a thing!) I made my own dried beef jerky at home and took it along, serving it with onions and rice.
What I love about your hiking videos is for me, they are more realistic in my current situation. I cannot afford a 6lb base weight to go hike and spend the night. You bring a folding chair, awesome, I get its lightweight, but you hike comfortable, something I can see myself doing when I am ready... Thanks Luke!

Your adventure Luke brought back memories of being at a training camp in N.Central NC two early springs ago. As part of the training, we were supposed to camp outside. The day had been terrible with rain, sleet, and a bit of snow. Ended up spending the night in a century-old tobacco barn. There was an old castiron stove in the barn I guess to use to dry the tobacco leaves. We fired that bad boy up and I hung a hammock to sleep in. It was a great night with the heat from the stove, the weather pounding the old barn, and a nice dry sleeping bag in a hammock. Thanks for the adventure.
I would love to see a video of when you 'upgrade' the shed - intrigued about the gutter system. Glad to see you're bringing better coffee. The Via French Roast and Italian Roast from Starbucks is good. I use the Bustelo to mix with hot chocolate. Looking forward to the next episode. Stay safe.
I would love to see you do a shed overnight. I have spent the night in farm sheds and barns several times and they seem cozy to me. You can do a simple overnight using it for shelter, or you could do a video showing you working on the shed then spending the night illustrating all the improvements.
Good video. I would’ve been tempted to move into the shed with the rain, cool temps and all, but like you said, there is something about being under a tarp in the rain. Besides, you also had a nice warm sleeping bag. Way to go. I also liked the ice storm in the shed video.

I love your mountain and your cabin. As a kid we had a tall hill behind us that had been logged many years before. The trees had grown back but not the roads. We jsed those roads to hike and bicycle. ,way before there was mountain biking. We aslo set up camps to spend the night using what was available. Lots of fun. I'd consider either doing a more substantial upgrade to the shed, or building a more solid structure nearby that could be used as relatively secure storage for supplies and basic equipment (say the stuff that is OK, but not so great you'd be gutted if it were lost or stolen). Basic lumber framing, OSB cladding which will give it strength with insulation (polystyrene, glassfibre, etc) and externally could be later clad with boarding to make it look more traditional :) add a nice little stove, and wood storage and it becomes a low effort retreat from elements and bugs, as well.
Love to see when the she'd is fixed will look awesome. :) I go with the flow of mother nature which way I go for the day outside. :) Love all adventures you have on lone wolf mountain. And all places. Love them all.:)Hugs and love to you all.:)

Got to have the reindeer stew and thai red curry on a trip to Talladega national forest last week. Amazing meals! As far as meals on a trip. All depends on how close the car is lol! Really anxious to see you repair the shed. It's one of the best locations. Every time I watch it, I keep thinking about how you could winterize it a bit so you could go there more often.
Looking forward to an overnight at the shed. It makes the viewer feel comfortable when you're feeling comfortable and warm with an awful storm blowing outside. So time to clean up and fix that shed.
For backpacking I like my meals fast and simple. A long day of hiking wears me out now that I'm older and I just don't have the energy to do anything fancy. Car camping is where I will get gourmet with my meals.

I hope you get the shed fixed up before winter. Would be great to see some overnight camping adventures this winter in it.
New roof on the shed, with a little overhang (2 foot) above the opening. Install a level(ish) wood floor. Then place the stove centrally located on the shorter wall of the shed. Done. (Potentially close off the open wall later).

Hi Luke, I would build up this shed a little, to cover the biggest wholes and may be a better door or something like that. I´m sure then it will be very cozy and warm, even if the outside temperatures are lower than 10°F. And I would like to watch another cabin adventure. Strength and honor, greetings, Wolfgang.

LOVE THE RAIN ON THE TARP (as long as the moisture stays on the proper side!) Camp cooking was always a big thing for my family and me. Often I made beef stew. I did lamb or pork shish kebab. On car camp trips, breakfast included pancakes and bacon with New York State maple syrup. (There is such a thing!) I made my own dried beef jerky at home and took it along, serving it with onions and rice.
What I love about your hiking videos is for me, they are more realistic in my current situation. I cannot afford a 6lb base weight to go hike and spend the night. You bring a folding chair, awesome, I get its lightweight, but you hike comfortable, something I can see myself doing when I am ready... Thanks Luke!

Your adventure Luke brought back memories of being at a training camp in N.Central NC two early springs ago. As part of the training, we were supposed to camp outside. The day had been terrible with rain, sleet, and a bit of snow. Ended up spending the night in a century-old tobacco barn. There was an old castiron stove in the barn I guess to use to dry the tobacco leaves. We fired that bad boy up and I hung a hammock to sleep in. It was a great night with the heat from the stove, the weather pounding the old barn, and a nice dry sleeping bag in a hammock. Thanks for the adventure.
I would love to see a video of when you 'upgrade' the shed - intrigued about the gutter system. Glad to see you're bringing better coffee. The Via French Roast and Italian Roast from Starbucks is good. I use the Bustelo to mix with hot chocolate. Looking forward to the next episode. Stay safe.
I would love to see you do a shed overnight. I have spent the night in farm sheds and barns several times and they seem cozy to me. You can do a simple overnight using it for shelter, or you could do a video showing you working on the shed then spending the night illustrating all the improvements.

I love your mountain and your cabin. As a kid we had a tall hill behind us that had been logged many years before. The trees had grown back but not the roads. We jsed those roads to hike and bicycle. ,way before there was mountain biking. We aslo set up camps to spend the night using what was available. Lots of fun.

I'd consider either doing a more substantial upgrade to the shed, or building a more solid structure nearby that could be used as relatively secure storage for supplies and basic equipment (say the stuff that is OK, but not so great you'd be gutted if it were lost or stolen). Basic lumber framing, OSB cladding which will give it strength with insulation (polystyrene, glassfibre, etc) and externally could be later clad with boarding to make it look more traditional :) add a nice little stove, and wood storage and it becomes a low effort retreat from elements and bugs, as well.
Love to see when the she'd is fixed will look awesome. :) I go with the flow of mother nature which way I go for the day outside. :) Love all adventures you have on lone wolf mountain. And all places. Love them all.:)Hugs and love to you all.:)

Finally got a chance to have real turmat sent to me . Buddy is stationed in norway and sent me some for xmas. Got to have the reindeer stew and thai red curry on a trip to Talladega national forest last week. Amazing meals!
As far as meals on a trip. All depends on how close the car is lol! Anything over a mile and my butt is eating backpacker meals haha!

For backpacking I like my meals fast and simple. A long day of hiking wears me out now that I'm older and I just don't have the energy to do anything fancy. Car camping is where I will get gourmet with my meals.
