I can imagine this process being intimidating or triggering for some people, so it's comforting to know they don't say the measurements or do anything in a shamey way. Thanks for sharing your experience! This was really informative.
Yes I'm glad my consultant didn't read out the numbers, they're not important to know, it's more the ratio that's important and how that relates to your proportions. Thanks for watching! :)
Great video. I am also a medium-scale, natural classic autumn so this really resonated with me. I bought a flowery top last summer and always felt uncomfortable wearing it. Now I know why! Would love if you would share some of your new clothes as you buy them.
I found HOC value, and effective in my makeup, colors, and style. Completely agree with you AND I find that the HOC reps are very well trained and love what they do and are very good at it! In the long run, it saves you soooo much money. I particularly love their makeup because it is mineral based. For those with sensitive, rosacea skin, you should give the makeup a try.
Totally agree with you :) I love their lip products but haven't tried any of their other makeup (apart from a bit of foundation and blusher during my appointment). I will no doubt be buying some of their autumn coloured blushers at some point!
Natural classic autumn. You've clarified a lot of my style , clothing, and make up choices. I always knew what colors suited me best, but explaining my color pallette to people before this has been more difficult. ( I've always described it as forest colors or colors of natural decay.) Now I have something to point to that will explain my color choices to them and why I don't want to wear fuchsia Lipsticks or tops etc. Or why I'm not thrilled about baby blue and pink etc. Very helpful.
Thank you for sharing this! I had a HoC Colour Analysis done earlier this year and really enjoyed it, I was a Snow White Winter which I was super happy about. I've been curious about the styling appointments too but there's not a lot of info online so may well look into that with my consultant now that I've seen you video :)
I have had a style consultation with HOC as well. Thank you for sharing about this style system, its difficult to find info on it. It was very daunting for me because I clearly didn't know the style vocabulary and ended up not always communicating in the clearest manner. I am looking forward to seeing where you go from here.
Thanks for watching! I agree that there's not much info out there, I'm following some HoC natural classic people on Instagram and taking inspo from the information they share. I'll keep documenting my progress through this journey :) What was your clothing personality?
I'm so glad I found your channel. I, too am a HOC autumn leaf natural classic, I had my colour & style done about a year ago. I had a hunch I was a natural classic, but needed confirmation and "guidelines". The style journey is a process it's more personal. Last winter I actually evaluated every piece of clothing I wore, how it felt on, how I felt in it, how was the color. I cleared out so many pieces it was empowering. I look forward to following you along with your journey. Would you mind sharing which HOC consultants your follow that are natural classics and/or autumn leaf - they seem to be hard to find or their are not many of them out there. With thanks.
Thank you so much! And how exciting to find another NC autumn leaf :) I love how you evaluated all of your clothing, it sounds very therapeutic! For NC consultants I follow Ashley Lynn, Albert Lea, Nicole Kaczmarek, Heidi Nowitzke. There's not many (that I know of) consultants that are autumn leaves, but I think Sophia Carter is one. I'm yet to find a consultant who's a NC AL! :)
Fab video! Thank you! It feels like we have quite a lot in common, as I was predicting some of your comments because I agree with them. I’m a vibrant blue autumn and a dramatic natural. My HOC consultant is a natural classic. I also have recorded my whole clothing collection. Old school on paper, cross referenced, with photos 🤣 Once in clothing types - 14 categories, then a second time in colour types - six categories. I’m the only person I know who takes it to such lengths! Constantly refining, analysing, deleting, adding! I find it incredibly helpful and thrillingly enjoyable. Saves ££££ of money and wardrobe space. I’d love to spend an hour or two with you comparing notes 🤣 I’m going to watch your other videos next. You did this brilliantly and you glow as an autumn leaf 😍
Oh wow I love how organised you are! What are you six categories of colour types? Haha we should for sure compare notes! I’m still learning along the way and have started documenting what I wear each day. Ooh who’s your consultant? I love natural classic inspo.
Thanks for stating how your style appointment went! I'm having mine in about a week or so and I kind of wanted to watch as somebody else felt when they went through it. I also looked at the kibby body type and did not know how I would fit with that.
Definitely any changes to your style need to be introduced graduately so you get used to them and feel comfortable and mostly yourself, otherwise what's the point of changing?! I've always had my own style and I know what suits me and what not (I've also made many mistakes along the way!) as I'm a very visual person. And as you said I don't want to be a copy of someone else, although I look at people for inspiration and take ideas that might work for me or give them my own twist. TFS your experience Vicki. Isabel 💛
Absolutely agree, slowly but surely! I'm currently figuring out gaps in my wardrobe and will then only add in new pieces if they fit my style and colour. Thanks Isabel :)
This was helpful. I will have a color appointment in a month. I wondered if I should shell out money for the style appointment. Since you gave a detailed account, I now know that I don’t need it. I’m older than you, so I’ve learned what works over the years. I’m a Kibbe Dramatic Classic, but, like you, I don’t want to fuss much.
Yes I think if you've got a good amount of knowledge about what suits you and what doesn't then I don't think the appointment will be of much use. I'm clueless about that though lol so I found it really helpful :)
I had my color analysis done at the end of January (HOC Jewel Winter) and it has given me so much confidence, especially with makeup. I also want to get the style analysis but it will likely be later in the year. Love this (and your color video) update!
@@vickilouise7764 I think we all get envious of the colors we don’t have (rust, oranges and browns for me). It’s wild how a season on one person can look gorgeous, but make another person look ill.
@@lcampbe6 totally agree! Always want what you can’t have lol. And yes so interesting how one colour can be great one someone but not the best on others.
I just got my HOC color analysis done too. I was a jewel winter and all these while I've been told I'm warm just because I'm asian. Everywhere I go for foundation matching I get matched with warm foundation. I can't wait to shop for a cool tone foundation
I was waiting for this video 🙂 It's nice , you had discovered by yourself the mix of Classic and Natural as the core of your style and you had confirmation of that ! You have definitely a natural but very polished look , hence your love for makeup , and I can see you reaching out towards elements of the Romantic style 🙂 . Eva ( soft true autumn , inspired by mixing elegant and minimalist in an eclectic French Italian way , always a soft touch of drama 🙂 )
Yes it was interesting that natural classic turned out to be style anyway, but now I have a name for it lol! Thank you :) I like elements of the romantic style so would be keen to incorporate touches of it. Oh I'd love to hear more about your eclectic French Italian style!
The process is very exciting and creative: first you identify your main attraction towards a style or type of silhouette , then you ad another one that you also identify . The more you master that I think the more you find new territories within a style , like maybe Classic can be casual , or ultra chic , or conservative , etc . To talk about myself I noticed that my silhouette was always made of fluid and clean lines ( Inverted triangle body type but with a waistline ), hence the Minimalist style , but I like style and elegant fabric and mixes and Structure , therefore the Elegant style element . My makeup is almost always nude but strangely it doesn't come out as Natural , it ads a bit of creative drama to the all thing 🙂 , and within the previous limits its the Creative I like , if that makes sense ! So you see , along the way you discover sub-genres and atmospheres you like and all that makes up YOU ! ❤ Maybe you'll do a video about decluttering your wardrobe according to your style 🙂 Love your channel !
Wonderful ! Yes I noticed that some people mistake Natural and Minimalist sometimes , maybe it's because it can be looking "bare faced" but Minimalist is actually very studied with nude shades 🙂 Well just my thinking 🙂
Hi! Very informative vid, thank you. I've also watched your HOC color analysis vid. I've done the Kibbe body test from the quiz/ vid of Aly Art. According to my answers, I'm a (boring) classic. Lol. I'm currently OK with my style, but I recently bought some tops in autumn colors - and they rock! Btw, I'm similar to you - writing something makes me remember it more. Maybe you could do a vid of "dressing for a week in my season/ clothing style" etc. Then we (the viewers) could choose which was our fave, or which we think looked the best on you. Thanks again & good luck in your HOC style journey!
Aw haha classics aren't boring! They have timeless elegance and often the type others aim to be. Ah exciting that you're bringing new autumn coloured clothes into your wardrobe! Thanks for the video idea, I'll add it to my list :)
Thanks for this video! I'm also a Leaf Autumn, so have loved your color & makeup looks. May I ask your beautiful lipstick color in this video? I also did the HoC style analysis and I'm a Natural Gamine. I got so much out of both appointments. I really enjoyed purging and editing my closet (a huge relief to get rid of what wasn't working!), and now I have so much more confidence as I begin to add new pieces. Like you shared, this info confirmed a lot of what I was doing naturally, and truly felt like "me." While some of the info was what I already intuitively knew, it felt very worthwhile to amplify my confidence and allow me to have a lot more fun and a lot less self doubt around my style!
Thank you so much! I'm wearing the HoC soft smooth coral lipstick. The sessions are brilliant aren't they :) it's such a transformative process and it's really interesting to look back and see that we intuitively knew what was best for us without fully knowing why. I'm glad to hear you're enjoying your style and colour journey :)
@@vickilouise7764 well, I already had an idea of her season because when we compare each other arm against arm we both look the same and all her features are clearly cool (in my case my eyes are warm), but I wasn't 100% sure. Hi! Your video was great! One thing I noticed is that I think your lipstick is a bit too bright. It ends up being distracting and taking away from your natural beauty, rather than adding. I think that shade might be better suited to a spring than an autumn
The lipstick is both a spring and autumn shade from HoC but vibrant autumn shades suit me the least out of my palette, so that may be why. I prefer rust shades of lipstick but do like to wear coral at this time of year :)
