Thank you for your comments on "spray tan culture". I think it's gone too far. Every skin tone deserves to embrace its natural beauty: pale, black, brown, olive, fair, etc. I feel any beauty standard that encourages women to bleach/tan/ change their skin should end. This was such a fun color analysis. You ladies made me smile.
I agree with that perspective. First of all, it promotes a sense of "fakeness", and secondly, I can only guess what it is doing to young girls and women in telling them that their natural state of being will never be "good enough", which is total BS. Lighter skin is just as beautiful as darker skin, and ladies should TOTALLY embrace that - there is ZERO reason why you would need to destroy your skin for a look that isn't even your natural look.

I just wanted to say, you have made me LOVE how pale I am! You are absolutely gorgeous and we have the same skin color. I was bullied for YEARS in school and that made me turn to self tanner, which was NOT for me to say the least. The bullying got so bad, I had to go to online school where I made a “friend” who would constantly tell me “ I was a ghost” because I was pale. I’m 16 now and I feel sooo much better about myself than I did before I started watching you! I’m confident, happy, healthy, and I learned to love myself just the way I am. So thank you for being you lol
I had my colors done in the late 70s. I was never fashionable and needed help as I started adult life. I found I was a summer - which explained why the neutrals, browns, oranges of the late 70s looked terrible on me. I shopped for a while with my little swatch book. Gradually I became confident about what looked good on me. To this day, I will see a beautiful yellow top or dress and think, maybe. I only have to lift it up to my face before I am reminded that I am a summer. It gave me the confidence to buy a slight pink wedding dress (back when stark white was the norm).
I'm so glad you knew not to get a stark white wedding dress! As an unaware pale olive gal I didn't know what my colors were, but also -- thankfully -- ended up landing on a slightly blush-pink dress because truly nothing else could beat it. Learning about my best colors nearly a decade later, I still can't believe how I lucked out 🙏🏼😍
Not sure if it’s as accurate as getting an actual person to do this for you, but there is an app you can download that will tell you your season. It’s called Dressika and apparently I’m a deep autumn
I had my colors done back in the 1980s.I'm an autumn. It makes shopping so much easier. a tip--because color palettes rotate in fashion, when your palette (especially your favored colors) is trending, shop and stock up on your basic pieces. it could be a few years before it comes around again.
I am an True Autumn and i don't love the teals, i actually love the warm blues in between purples like periwinkle and that's what i have done this spring, those blues are so hard to find and when i saw them soft and beautiful i brought 2 t-shirts!
Yay, I've been waiting for someone to tell you you're a Winter! Remember too that you can still wear warm colors away from your face - you could wear the rust you like as a skirt with a top of forest green that is more flattering to your face.
Haha same! Every time that one orange top came up in a video I was like, nooo girl, nooooo. Get this woman in a navy! My GOSH she looks good in winter colours!
My company had our entire department do a multi-day image consulting class back in 2000-ish and a big part of it was color analysis but it also included glasses frame suggestions, clothing cuts, etc. (men and women, BTW, and this was at an electric utility!) I implemented ALL of the changes that were recommended and have never looked back. It’s made shopping so much easier and I just look better and feel better about how I look. It’s legit! (says the 54yo lady watching Brett’s channel…)
So happy to see this video! I love color analysis, especially in a world where people feel like they have to go with what's "trendy" even if it's not flattering to them. The right colors really do make so much difference in making people look their best.
You can wear any color, but having “your” colors near your face makes all the difference. Brett’s coloring features a lot of contrast-fair skin, dark hair, dark eyes-that marks her as a Winter.
Love this!! I figured out my colors a year ago and it’s been a game changer. I understand what is and isn’t for me, I save money, and I feel great. You’re a STUNNING winter.
I love love love that color analysis is becoming more mainstream! My grandmother taught me about my “colors” when I was a pre-teen and it’s something that has stuck with me forever. I’m so glad that young women are paying more attention to things like this! 😊
I loved this video 💜 Not only am I very into the color analysis videos, but I, too am on a "living lady-like" quest of my own. Being plus size, 6ft tall, and living on low income, I've never felt capable of being lady-like or graceful. Now that I'm raising twin daughters, I want to be an example of grace and gentleness to them. I'm feeling very intimidated by this journey, so any vlog-type videos sharing your experience are much appreciated 🥰
Look up dressing your truth by Carol Tuttle. It is probably what you are looking for. Women should not be confined to a stereo type. Hers is based of movement and how we respond to the world around us. It is not personality because we are shaped and shamed. Color analysis is often wrong. Example my sister was told she is a summer, but in reality she looks best in bold colors.
@@tanyarobinson1146I did dressing your truth for a few years, and honestly while it did open my mind up and help me embrace who I am, I eventually realized that it can really put people in a box. I was on the Facebook group and saw tons of women who were dressing for their type but something was clearly not working or harmonizing, and most were not dressing for their body type and/or colors that actually look great on them. And they were so obsessed with making sure everything was completely "your type", when honestly it became obvious that it didn't work 100% for everyone, even if it was a step in the right direction. Not saying not to look into it, but take it with a grain of salt and always trust your intuition
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS!!! Have always been a huge fan of your content but THANK YOU for the more feminine, fashion-centric, style topics!!!!! I’m so inspired!!
The Color Wheel is as OLD TIME. I didn’t realize that a whole generation was not aware of it. It’s EVERYTHING to look your best, and I’m glad to know it lives on
the problem isnt finding colors, its that all clothing today is poor quality in every way, including colors. you would have to make go to a shop and have them all completely custom made, including style, fabric and colors. I personally just want high quality basics with good colors that perfectly fit me, which is impossible to buy from any brand for any money.
I remember when this was all the rage in the 70’s. My mom and all her friends were doing this. Now, I want to do this. I so agree it’s very hard to find quality materials that wash well, hold colors, and shape. Knowing colors at least will stop unnecessary purchases. Loved this video! ❤
Yes, remembered doing this in the early 80s. It so explained why I always looked sick in certain colors, despite their quality or loveliness. You can essentially wear most colors, it's all about what shade.
YESSSSS IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS 😭 I’ve been so into color analysis recently! So every time I see someone, my mind just wonders what season they are lol. I’ve had my suspicions of you being a winter for weeks now! No wonder the role of Snow White fits you so well 🫶🏻
I'm so into this. We had like a very basic bit when I went to school for makeup in my early 20s.no one at work would guess I did, as I'm just an average looking construction worker with a beard and a beer gut, and i don't act in any way flamboyant. I was hoping to maybe start dressing better this year, instead of basically clean versions of what i wear at work.this whole colour thing is definitely in my notes to check out before I get my best buddy's gf to take me shopping, even though I mostly wear black. A flattering colour really does a lot! Also I loved that she said Snow White is in your bloodline, absolutely!

This was so much fun! I had my colors done with my mom back in the 80s. I remember not liking that I was a spring because I adored autumn colors. I’m motivated to do it again. Thank you Brett, for taking us along.
I love colour analysis. From watching you I would have guessed you were between a deep Autumn or a deep winter (the palette between Autumn and Winter), rather than a pure winter. Eitherway, you look gorgeous, Brett!
I am so glad to see you are adding in more content like this, Brett. Practical tips for self-improvement are such a positive thing to bring your audience. I also liked your "touch grass" videos showing how people can get outdoors and enjoy the nature just outside their door. I'd also suggest doing some more videos with dress and hair tips for guys. I think you have many guy viewers who would like to see simple ways they can enhance their self appearance. This color analysis would work well for men (I see some men have commented that they have benefitted from an analysis in their own wardrobe). Maybe you could have another session (depending on House of Colour's schedule) where you bring one of the young guys from your behind the camera team to get a color analysis for guys.
I literally thought just a few days ago that you must be diving into some styling techniques (color season, etc) because you just look GLOWING lately! I’ve been doing that myself since the beginning of this year but haven’t been professionally typed or draped yet
When I was a teenager I found my mom's Color Me Beautiful book from the '80s and studied that religiously. So when I first started following you, I immediately thought your looks scream winter. It's nice to see this trend has come back
I had my colours done in the 80’s. I have embraced my winter palate ever since. I’m a Snow White with brown, now with platinum, hair. My preference is the vivid jewel tones. It’s nice to see this come back!
I did in-person color analysis 2 years ago. I found out I am warm spring / true spring. It was disappointing at first because I was hoping I was autumn. But it encouraged me to return to my natural hair color and I've found a new love of gold jewelry, clear warm colors and have tried colors I'd never have thought of before. I think color analysis is great and everyone, guys and gals, should do it. It helps optimize your wardrobe and save you money in the long run. It also encourages people to embrace their natural beauty!
I feel you!! I wish so badly I was one of the winter subcategories Winter but most likely I'm cool summer or even soft summer. I tend to think cool summer I have enough of seeing muted colours!!😭
Color Me Beautiful is a book that had color charts for each four season with other information. This is an older book, probably from the late seventy or early eighty. There may be other books on the market now.
I've been using beef tallow for a few years now and someone asked me about my skincare routine (I also know my colors and wear them so that helps) and the look of horror when I said I use water to wash and beef tallow to moisturize was priceless. 😂 I guess to some it's kinda gross and weird.
I'm so pumped you did this! Some of your favourite repeat shirts in the past have been colours that have not been singing your praises... But daaang! Get you in the right colours and look at you POP. Such a stunning lady.
I used to be insecure about my fair skin, too. I used to wear thing that I thought made me look more “tan,” but I realize I really just looked like I had jaundice. I also realized it is fine to not have skin that tans. It isn’t something to be embarrassed about.
Wow definitely a winter! I did mine a couple of months ago and found out I am a spring! It’s so much easier to shop now and I feel way more confident knowing the colours I wear accentuate my natural beauty
Alright, only with this channel have i learned to sometimes admit defeat and just leave my comment and be happy for Brett. Im lost on this one 😂. Thanks. Keep shining, Brett
Had this done in the 80s when I lived in Germany (a 'hen' party with the girls). I'm a summer....my friend who was a redhead was an autumn and when she put on the khaki and olive green, we couldn't believe what an incredible difference it made....she was gorgeous in those colors. Those colors wash me out. It is truly amazing how it works!
Hi Brett, I am a fan of your channel and as a colour consultant as well, I was super thrilled to see that you did a colour consultation. I hope that you enjoy working with your new Winter colours!
I’m a soft summer. I used to wear so much black and charcoal. Now I know just charcoal and I’m slowly getting my closet properly in my color palette. Kibbe body types are interesting too. I’m a dramatic classic.
I am pleasantly surprised that this color analyst got it right. Despite this trend being very popular most analysts aren't spot on. I tried watching quite a few color analysis videos and the only ones that get it right are Color Analysis Studio with Giulia and Alesandra. But this specialist is spot on.
I love them Guila and Alessandra! I was hoping this lady would discuss seasonal subgroups, but they didn't. I wish she would've narrowed down what Brett's primary characteristic is. I was guessing deep winter.
I did this in the late 80s. Found out I was NOT a winter, but a clear spring which shares much of its palette with a winter. It is so obvious you are a winter - you look FABULOUS in those colors!
Brett’s out here with the fun episodes, gonna have to kick back and binge some Brett for the evening. 🌙Seriously, Brett, your videos are super cool to watch, let’s hit 5 million subs, gang!! #BrettGang
This method was popular in the 70s and 80s - if you were defined as a Winter then cool times bold colors flattered you best; if you were a spring then pastels flattered you the most, etc. Glad to see this trend coming back!❤
Wow how funny when I was 10th grade in 1982 I took home education and I was the only guy in the class-Needed the credits. Had my colors done in front of all the girls. Felt like I was on display. I'm an Autumn so earth colors and brings out the starbursts in my eyes.

Don't paint us all with the same brush, now. Knowledgeable men like me are into fashion as well. I am a winter myself, maybe because my ruling planet was in Scorpio.
I've never done color analysis, but I do energy profiling and Dressing Your Truth and I've found it's super accurate and way less expensive. It also goes more into hues, tones, shades, and tints which I love!

70’s fashion and 70’s colors should never see the light of day again. 😂
as a soft summer, same lol
I'm so glad you knew not to get a stark white wedding dress! As an unaware pale olive gal I didn't know what my colors were, but also -- thankfully -- ended up landing on a slightly blush-pink dress because truly nothing else could beat it. Learning about my best colors nearly a decade later, I still can't believe how I lucked out 🙏🏼😍
I still have my swatch book, and I carry it still when I shop, Spring here, daughter is a winter😊.
I love these tests! I’ve been dying to try one! But Brett literally looks amazing in all colors! She’s stunning!
Brett the entire time: 😭😂

Yay, I've been waiting for someone to tell you you're a Winter! Remember too that you can still wear warm colors away from your face - you could wear the rust you like as a skirt with a top of forest green that is more flattering to your face.
Haha same! Every time that one orange top came up in a video I was like, nooo girl, nooooo. Get this woman in a navy! My GOSH she looks good in winter colours!
14:58 When she put the black on I literally yelled "Holy smoke!" 🔥
My response was " Oh, MY!!!!! "
That blue is stunning as well!
@@katelynholmes9504 So very true!
THE BLACK WITHE THE LIP COLOUR! Just wow!
@@IHopeMyBungholioWontGetPolio The combination just blew me away!
What a fantastic thing to do
So lucky!!! I want to learn about this so much!!!
So happy to see this video! I love color analysis, especially in a world where people feel like they have to go with what's "trendy" even if it's not flattering to them. The right colors really do make so much difference in making people look their best.
Snow white for sure! Winter really suits you!!
You can wear any color, but having “your” colors near your face makes all the difference.
Brett’s coloring features a lot of contrast-fair skin, dark hair, dark eyes-that marks her as a Winter.
I never thought I'd like a fashion video but this was actually really cool. somehow Brett made it work for the guys too.
Ba dum tiss
I've been seeing things like this since the 1970s. it's always stunning when the right color combinations are found.
This was very big in the 80s. My mom had "Color Me Beautiful" - the whole book series.
Yes girlie, me too 😂!!!
Oh my gosh, Brett! Please do more beauty-centric videos, they’re fantastic! 🥰
This episode gives off the clock vibes and I love it
I miss off the clock
Those colors look SMASHING on you, Brett! So stunning 😍
Ps I'm so jealous of your skin, its flawless
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS!!! Have always been a huge fan of your content but THANK YOU for the more feminine, fashion-centric, style topics!!!!! I’m so inspired!!
You are so kind, heartwarming, and social in such a lovely way
I was really on the fence between Brett being Dark winter vs Dark autumn, so I am glad to see this finally resolved! 🤩 You are stunning, Brett!
Can I admit how much I LOVE Hannah from House of Colour? She just has a wonderful, confident personality that shines through the camera.
I had this done back in the late 70's and was told I was spring/warm.
I wonder if it might change if you happened to do it again.
Ha
Forever alone
@@raidzeromatt Aw I'm sorry you think you're forever alone. But you're not! I promise you. My best friends are a couple and my boyfriend and I go to metal shows with them a lot, even though me and my friends felt a little worried about moving to a new province back when we made the move, I met the sweetest plumber at work (i'm in a sub-trade who works for plumbers)Trust me, you'll find your person! I didn't expect to make a connection like this with a fellow apprentice haha. You can find someone in the most unexpected places. Good luck my dude
that green color after the rust color was gorgeous
I am absolutely flabbergasted, I had no idea this was even a thing!! I'm a photographer by trade and I've kinda known about skin tones and that colors can complement or contrast with them, but this is just a whole other level.
It’s crazy how she said Snow Shite and Brett LITERALLY played her lol Too perfect ❤
This was so much fun! I had my colors done with my mom back in the 80s. I remember not liking that I was a spring because I adored autumn colors. I’m motivated to do it again. Thank you Brett, for taking us along.
lol "some of these colors just make me look dead" great piece! Color theory does work!
I love colour analysis. From watching you I would have guessed you were between a deep Autumn or a deep winter (the palette between Autumn and Winter), rather than a pure winter. Eitherway, you look gorgeous, Brett!
We are in Brett’s Peak Era 🐐

Omgosh that ad transition slayed me. I for real lol’d. 😂
I literally thought just a few days ago that you must be diving into some styling techniques (color season, etc) because you just look GLOWING lately! I’ve been doing that myself since the beginning of this year but haven’t been professionally typed or draped yet
The little break of the 4th wall at the mention of Snow White 😉😂 too cute
When I was a teenager I found my mom's Color Me Beautiful book from the '80s and studied that religiously. So when I first started following you, I immediately thought your looks scream winter. It's nice to see this trend has come back
That was so fun! Wow, you just SHINED in those Winter colors! Gorgeous.
Now, I just gotta find someone in my area who can check my coloring. 💗
I had my colours done in the 80’s. I have embraced my winter palate ever since. I’m a Snow White with brown, now with platinum, hair. My preference is the vivid jewel tones. It’s nice to see this come back!
Aww I LOVED this video!!!! Winter colors look absolutely stunning on you!! No wonder why you are such a perfect choice for Snow White!
I tend to think cool summer I have enough of seeing muted colours!!😭
dude Brett's stylist be taking notes in the background to get her wardrobe for the next month of video's ready😂
Color Me Beautiful is a book that had color charts for each four season with other information. This is an older book, probably from the late seventy or early eighty. There may be other books on the market now.
Can we all just take a second to appreciate how well she takes care of her skin??? Its literally perfect and looks so natural!!! shes so beautiful 😭
The secret is beef tallow
She is also very young which helps too.
Actually? To cook in or the face stuff? @@pharmcat8484
I've been using beef tallow for a few years now and someone asked me about my skincare routine (I also know my colors and wear them so that helps) and the look of horror when I said I use water to wash and beef tallow to moisturize was priceless. 😂 I guess to some it's kinda gross and weird.
@@Wisco.ro414 what brand? Anything i need to know? I wanna take care of myself better. Thanks!
I knew you were a winter!!! But it was so nice to actuality watch you discovering your colors!!! ❤
Is there an online test?
I've never expected to see Brett doing color analysis in her channel yet I'm glad that she did, she's beautiful as always!
I am SO fascinated by color analysis! I want to get mine done.
Google how to use chatgbt to color match you. I did it and found out I am a light spring
Hi Brett, I am a fan of your channel and as a colour consultant as well, I was super thrilled to see that you did a colour consultation. I hope that you enjoy working with your new Winter colours!
Brett basically the whole time "mhm mhm" 😂
Brett like everyone else knows its bs
@@LocaChoca yup, I think you're right.
LOL! You WERE on display! I bet the girls LOVED having you in class, and working on improving you. You were good practice for them, before getting married and working on their husbands!😊
@@ShelleybutyoucancallmeShell Honestly I loved the attention, their reactions I will never forget after all these years. Can I just say that I've seen a lot of color analysis and so far this young lady is one of the best. Some of them go so fast it's hard to see on video but this is paced very nicely. Royal blue, Brett - aces!!
Women choosing clothes: I love this shirt but it's a summer and I'm a winter... Men choosing clothes: ( picks up shirt, smells it) yeah I can wear that again...
Do you happen to do this online via Video call perhaps?
The gray scale start, lol.
So awesome! I'm also a winter. I think I have always known that instinctively, because I always gravitated towards those colors.
It's interesting to me that 2 of our girls are autumns, abother is a spring, and only one is a winter like me.
Me as a guy not noticing any differences at all:🗿
Bruh was scrolling through comments to see if there were people like me not seeing the difference and just accepting that it’s happening 😂😂
I‘m a woman and I don’t see any difference at all either 😭 I mean don’t get me wrong, Brett looks absolutely gorgeous in every colour … but I just can’t spot any differences
Haha this comments are great! I've laugh so much. I am a woman and an artist and I'm having a hard time seeing how the "wrong" colors make her look bad...i can't see it. 😅
My sister, mom, dad, and I all got our colors done about 15 years ago and it has been so helpful. It’s given me so much confidence and helped me with overwhelm when out shopping. Also, I’m a winter, too, and I totally knew Brett was. There were a few tops she’d wear that I always thought, oh noooo. Lol
You should do kibbie too!!!!
Im so glad you're a winter because I have now had my colors analyzed vicariously
