TWO EMPTIES! Pan Those Eyeshadow Palettes 2024 - Fifth Update!
I’ve decided to declutter the first two pairs of shorts and the beige trousers! Thanks for your helpful comments 😊
Good video, love cerave for skin and also use cerave moisturiser as I am quite dry. Tend to use nivea hand cream zand body moisturiser as like a thicker consistency. I do think it's difficult to know what to use with all the different range of products available and claims made . ❤😊
I like nivea for hand and body creams too. Yes I agree, lots of choice and claims to sift through!
Keep the green pants, they will look fine with an ivory to.
True, they will, but I still haven't worn them for a long time.
Great video! All three of your shorts look great on you.😊
Thank you so much!
I commented on a previous video that you and I have a very similar body type. I'm going to put this down to explain the things I learned about shorts for myself, maybe you will find some things to consider, because I felt frustrated that other women seemed to be able to beautifully wear shorts and I felt so dumpy in them. Paperbag style shorts don't really work because they add a lot of bulk around the hips, where I needed my shorts to skim the hips, the caveat being if the paperbag style is very cinched with a front rise of 12 to 14 inches, with the leg opening of the shorts quite close to the thigh circumference. Realizing that a key feature of linen or slightly more structured tailored shorts was that the leg opening needed to be at most 2 inches more than my thigh circumference was a big game changer for me. Shorts need to not have a lot of detail like pleats in that midsection area because what happens is that hip/butt junction is my widest point, so if I didn't have shorts that I took to the tailor to have the waist and lower part of the leg taken in, the pleat gets pulled out when I move and I get a horizontal line across the crotch because there isn't quite enough fabric for that proportion, though there is an exception if the pleat is deep and goes down the entire short front. Also need a shorts inseam maximum of 4" if the shorts don't have a lot of elastane/nylon for stretch, because the widest point of my thigh is 3 inches or so below the crotch, so if the leg of the shorts is longer it cuts my thigh off and looks dumpy because it makes the thigh look thicker in fabrics that are stiffer and not flowy. Such a short inseam is not practical if your thighs rub together at all, but resolved appearance issues with the fit of shorts not looking right on me. I do not look good in mid-rise anything, which is around 9-10 inches, I had to set 11-12" rise as a minimum, and what this did is ensure that I could achieve waist definition with t-shirts. Edit: another big issue I had with shorts fit is that the space at the lower part of the butt in the back in most stores is not big enough for me, and that was another source of fit issues with the pulling creating horizontal lines on the thighs at the crotch level.
Wow this is so helpful! Thank you! I agree with all you've said, especially about the horizontal lines that appear! I'll pay more attention to inseam length going forwards as sounds like we have very similar experiences with shorts!
12:12 All these dresses are really pretty on you. That last dress is gorgeous, I hope you can rework it.
@@TheMaxymama thank you! Yeh I hope so too, I’ve had a few suggestions so just need to figure out what I wanna do with it
Good declutter! Always good to review each season
I agree :)
So what did you do with the first and second pair of shorts? I couldn’t find the info.
@@leastidyworld4365 I’m still deciding but think I might declutter the first pair
@@vickilouise7764 I think you should declutter both, the 2nd pair isn't high-waisted enough, It lands at an awkward position. The 1st pair is better design wise but you don't like the colour. The 3rs pair is perfection. 👌🏾
@@TheMaxymama you’re totally right! Both pairs are going.
@@vickilouise7764I see. Thanks for the reply.
Early (I’m not a regular viewer, just happen to be here an hour after you uploaded). 🤭
@@leastidyworld4365 haha welcome! 🤗
@@vickilouise7764Thank you, hehe. 🤗
Your hair is lovely ,thank you ❤
@@humblefella740 thank you ☺️
You are Flamboyant Natural - a typical example is your wrap coat - wrap and long is the FN style. Soft Dramatic you cannot be because you are not soft - soft=round=woman subtype and you are not round, you are square=man subtype (round or square you see on the face). Dramatic has woman subtype soft dramatic = round and man subtype dramatic = square. Man (square) or woman (round) subtype is the first step - than you can choose only from man or only from woman subtypes of 5 types. Round face: Romantic, Soft Dramatic, Soft Natural, Soft Gamine, Soft Classic. Square face: Theatrical Romantic, Dramatic, Flamboyant Natural, Flamboyant Gamine, Dramatic Classic.
No, the jumpsuit is so cute. 🥲 Very nice dresses. My winter uniform is knit dress + thights + combat boots. 😂
Thank you :) Love a knit dress for winter!
I was inspired to get a second opinion from Carol after seeing your video. I was typed as a Warm Autumn in person by someone who has 20 years of experience, and I was shocked to discover that I was warm-toned. I had been online analyzed as deep winter, true summer, soft autumn, and soft summer so I was pretty convinced I was cool and soft (also so confusing getting all of those different results). Learning I was warm-toned was eye-opening, and I doubted it at first but then started to realize I AM warm and I finally found a foundation that actually works for my skin after years of going for cool neutrals. But the depth of colors in the autumn palette didn't sit right with me so your video inspired me to get another opinion. Well I just got my colors back from Carol and I'm a....True Spring! I'm genuinely so excited about this palette and so fun that I can be on this journey with you haha 🌸
Aw so nice to hear it inspired you! And yay fellow true spring! It's such a fun palette :) And I agree, it's so difficult to know if you get different results online, and you've been given a result from each of the four seasons! Hope you get on well with being a true spring :)
I like the first jumpsuit! It is less refined, though. It might qualify for mushroom style root. Not sure if you use mushroom.
Yes also agree it would suit mushroom, which is one of the style roots I use (probably also earth and flower).
Almost all pieces have a low/open neckline, so it doesn't compromise your complexion as much. 😊👍
Yes that's very true!
I love the jumpsuit on you. Great proportions, great colour and just the right depth of colour. Have you come across Ella Ray in your colour journey?
Thanks! Wish it wasn't cropped leg though. I haven't but I've now subscribed so will catch up on her videos.
The last dress looks odd because the neckline is very low. Shorten the straps and the dress will sit higher.
Thanks, I'll give that a go!
Moss dress should be easily turned into a thin strapped slip dress like the burnt orange one. Don't you think? Looks like there's enough fabric in the back to bring up and plenty of strap to use. I'm an older lady but finding your videos to be so helpful since I just discovered I'm an SD and have similar clothing taste to yours. I'm a winter, though. :-)
Yes I reckon that would work, great idea! Thank you for watching, glad they've been helpful! :)
I love when you have a friend who can just tell that something will look amazing on you but you might not go for it yourself. I had a co-worker years ago who found an event dress online and told me she found it 'just for me' and it's still one of my favorite dresses I've ever owned
Yes those type of people are so great to have in your life! It's a superpower I swear lol
Perhaps add two seams under bust vertically on moss dress to nip waist
Good idea. Agree it does need to nip in more at the waist.
I would just sell that last dress. If you don't really care for it now, you won't like it any better later. It must just not fit your personal style. Kind of like the curls that my hairstylist put in my hair with a curling iron yesterday. Perfect curls but just really out of place on me as a natural gamine ;-)
I'll see if there's anyway to salvage it first, if not then I'll probably have to sell it :(

What size is your COS camel coat? Did you need to upsize at all?
The coat is a size S, and I'm a UK 10-12. I'd say the coat is more of a 12 than a 10 but that's fine with me, I like to size up a little bit with coats so I can wear it over thicker jumpers and layers.
I love this kind of videos!❤thank you for sharing 🎉
Thanks for watching! :)
Nice collection Vicki! Jackets and coats are my weakness. Yet nowadays it is difficult to find something that suits me. I often search second hand stores for something that flatters me. For cold mornings, I like to have a short jacket that covers my entire back, which I can easily throw over my arm if it's too hot in the afternoon. A long coat then becomes such a hassle. Suede jackets are in, but they cannot withstand the regular rain showers that we are used to. I like the look of a pea coat but my body needs single-breasted shapes.
Thank you! I'm not keen on suede jackets purely for practical reasons. They look nice but not ideal for UK weather!
I think you can straddle both Autumn and Spring even as a true spring. This mustard jacket and the green jacket looked great. I really like the cream cardigans.
Yes I agree, I think I can get away with wearing colours from both palettes, just as long as they're really warm and have the correct value etc 😊 Thank you!
the henley top in a "meh" colour I agree, great cut, great fit, not a great colour for you, it could be more wearable under a light jacket. Leopard print top, bang on decision, the black is too dark and there's too much contrast in it for your colouring. The green M&S v-neck t-shirt would definitely be better in a spring green on you. I think the only one where I kind of disagreed with you is the 3/4 sleeve light peach v-neck top, I thought that one was too bright for you, it kind of stole the show with your colouring. It is so cool to see your wardrobe! I don't wear ANY of the same colours as you and would never ever buy any of the brown tones--so it's so fun to see this totally foreign perspective on colour. The dark green boat neck longsleeve top I agree is too dark for you, but with your skin tone it does look nice enough.
Thanks for your comments, really interesting! Yes the light peach isn't the perfect colour on me but I just think it's so pretty 😊Ah I agree I love seeing what people have in their wardrobe! And like you, especially when it's a different style or shades to what I'd wear!
@@vickilouise7764 I totally get it--I have tops that aren't the best colour but I love and that is just how it's going to be. I'm glad you didn't throw out your whole wardrobe after your colour analysis because I think your wardrobe is pretty nice.

Your figure is very similar to mine. What I found with jackets is wrap coats, with a medium to large sharp lapel, is the most flattering. For other jackets I always try to get a very fitted waist, not like skin tight PVC or anything, but generally following my figure. I also found that really long coats look great, or cropped ones that end fitted at the natural waist, so you're still following that one third proportion. One trick I found was to get a men's coat that fit my shoulders, and then find one with two zippers so you could zip from the bottom and the top to create more space for the bust and hips, this works super well for the cotton field jackets where it's for brisk days. I really struggled with the oversized fashion that's currently available in store, so I buy secondhand suits based on their measurements. Boyfriend jackets look dreadful on me. I wouldn't worry about your "typing" for season--just think of the spectrum of chroma/saturation, warmth/coolness, tone/amount of black, tint/amount of white and whether it looks good on you or not. Because realistically the cream cardigan, the brown Vietnam jacket, the really long cardigan, and the green short jacket all look great on you.
This is very helpful, thank you! I agree with you - wrap coats and also jackets with a fitted waist. I think that's why I struggle with jackets cos they're more often boxy in shape. Ooh good idea about buying second hand suits! Not heard that one before. Yes I'm inclined to go by contrast and chroma, that seems to work well for me. And thank you :)
Girl! This same thing happened with me. All systems will analyse me as a deep autumn but I'm very clearly a bright spring lol
It's interesting how lots of people get different results! Seems like warmth is a pretty strong characteristic for you then, but interesting how it's depth or brightness that differs in your results!
I was analysed by Carol Brailey as a true autumn after being told I was a deep autumn in another system. It made sense to me as the deep autumn colours where overpowering and a little off for my skin tone. What I have struggled with is makeup as I find the true autumn colours a little too dark and only feel comfortable wearing them when I am tanned. I prefer the makeup colours from the spring palette with the exception of bright spring.
That's a pretty similar result though, just the subseason that's changed 😊 I guess in your makeup you need to have a bit of brightness then, you may find that some of the spring makeup you like borders into autumn?
@@vickilouise7764 I thought the seasons where similar as well but Carols says that deep autumn is more neutral and I’m fully warm which explains why the colours looked a little off on me. For makeup though I’m finding as you said the spring colours that border into autumn look better on me. I also have to get used to wearing warm colours as most of my wardrobe was filled with cool colours!
I love the Vietnamese jacket. Just the right colour, depth of colour and shape. Beautiful garment on you.
Thank you! I'm very happy with it 😊
As for trying to make a decision about which season you truly are, I always think your lipstick will help you to determine and since spring and autumn lipsticks are quite different that should really help. Which one harmonizes with your features?
Yes that's a really good point! I spent a good chunk of time last night looking at clips in a lot of my older YT videos and paying attention to the makeup. Lighter and brighter colours definitely look better, there were a couple of coral lipsticks that I decluttered a couple years ago which in hindsight I really shouldn't have! Browns and darker shades look too heavy on me.
Would you consider wearing your hair in a half up half down style sometime ?
I'll do that next time I film! 😊
@@vickilouise7764thank you so much ❤
One suggestion to deal with the trench coat buckle problem is to put a few stitches (by hand) to keep the strap in place. If you don't have the skills you could either ask someone you know to help you or take the trench coat to a tailor. Also, finding a scarf that bridges the autumn and spring colours to harmonize the autumn coloured coats with the spring direction might be a good idea.
That's a great tip, thank you! I'll try that 😊 I'm going through scarves and other accessories in another video so I'll check then what I have, but a true spring pop of colour in a scarf would be a good idea. I need to make a list of these wardrobe gaps!
My eye and eyelid shape is exactly like yours. Thank your so much for these videos. I was very confused.
You're welcome! Glad you liked it 😊
I'm a spring too! Both in HOC and the 12 season system (light spring). I think in a 16-season system I would be either a light spring or true spring. For me there is a loooot of overlap between my HOC wow colours and my light spring colours. Which also gets me to thinking about that some HOC autumn colours are considered to be brighter than any autumn colours seen in 12 or 16 season systems. I've heard ma lot of HOC vibrant autumn colours apparently fall within 12 season bright spring. So I guess every system just divides the colours up in different 'sections' than another, based on different framework (for HOC for example: spring = focus on Munsell high chroma and autumn = focus on Munsell high saturation?). I personally prefer HOC, because for me it waaay is less restrictive for finding and buying clothes (light spring colours are sooo hard to find) and most of it looks good on me anyways, but I like the 12 (or more) season system as well, because it looks so beautifully harmonious. I do disagree with Carol Brailey on haircolour determining seasons so strictly, I like the TCI approach more: What looks best on you determines your season (and not what you look like). However, I do agree with you that one should pick the result that resonates and feels the best. All that comes before is also just very interesting data. Also, you look very harmonious in that top and with that lipstick, love it!
That's interesting about your wow colours overlapping, I still need to check mine. Yes, I've also heard that as well about how HoC autumn colours are brighter than autumn shades in other systems. I'd like to, at some point, get a TCI analysis to see what I would be in their system, but there's no consultants in the UK. And thank you, I really like this lipstick!
Great coat collection!!!...where you got the last one?? I love the color .
The yellow one is from Cotton Traders 😊

@@melligolightly thanks! ☺️
You have a great coat collection! Maybe a warm scarf and silk scarf in true spring colors would fix the color aspect.
Thank you! I'll be going through my scarves and other accessories in another video so we'll see what I have then. I usually wear a cream cashmere scarf in the winter but a true spring pop of colour would be nice 😊
The best color theory representation I have seen is a 3D model, not a flat color wheel. *I think* it makes sense to take clues from ones OWN ACTUAL colors, rather than trying to fit into prearranged buckets suggested by various commercial color theories. These theories are simply generalizations, general guides... Example: look at the shades/hues/tones in YOUR OWN hair, your eyes, your natural blush color in your skin... What makeup colors harmonize, make your skin look clear, your eyes pop? Notice how the most clear vs. most muted flatter your overall look. Also, consider the range of light & dark between your own hair and skin (easy to see in a black & white photo). I've been categorized as Bright Spring and/or a Dark Autumn, so I feel the analysts were noticing my warmth and contrast level, bright peachy skintone, but thrown off by my dark amber eye color. And now my hair has gone grey (salt & pepper) which appears taupe and clashes with camel...
I really like the idea of the 3D model! That's so true what you say about looking at your own actual colours, Color Your Style book I think is about that (I've bought it but yet to read it!). I also try to do a similar thing with contrast, so sticking to medium contrast and not wearing anything too dark or light. And also trying to match my shoes to my hair colour! Although trying to find camel coloured boots is proving tricky....
I was color analyzed decades ago and was characterized as a Bright Spring. I always thought I was a Dark Autumn. This just goes to show that this is based on "theory", humans are each unique, may not fit into prearranged buckets. 😉😘
And then I went grey!!! 😂😂😂 I no longer look my best in camels, as my salt & pepper hair appears to be a shade of taupe.
Yes we're all unique 😊 it's about finding the right colours and if they come from similar palettes rather than just one palette then that's what works for you. It's interesting to see how people interpret their result 😊
A light Spring here, the camel coat looks beautiful!

Another option for handwashing is Castile soap. I can get Dr. Bronner’s brand from our local Walmart. It is soap made from plant oils and no synthetic detergents
Really? I found that even diluted down the dr bronners soap was super drying and irritating.
I've heard good things about this one and have saved it in my Amazon basket 😊
I think the autumn colours look good on you. I believe I'm also a spring, but some autumn look good at on me also.
Thanks! I think we can get away with wearing colours from both seasons as long as the value etc is right 😊
I started project panning almost 11 months ago after watching one of your videos. I wanted to start using up the older cream makeup products. Over that time, I've learned just how long it takes to use up products! And doing it has slowed down my purchases, which is a very good thing. I've used up two older gel liners, and I've almost used up my second lipstick and lip liner (I'll be done with them this month). I've tossed a blush that I decided was just too patchy. I've also set aside a blush because it's too cool and a concealer I've decided is too light. If one of my friends won't take them, I'm going to try and force myself to toss them. It's hard to throw away makeup! I've used up one Chanel Les Beiges foundation and am halfway through another. I'm almost through with another tinted moisturizer. I'm also trying to get myself to use all of my eyeshadows instead of just using my old standby palettes.
Wow you've done so well in 11 months! Congratulations! It really is eye opening about how long it takes to work through products and does help to put you off buying anything new. I agree about not wanting to through away makeup, I really try not to. I either pan or pass on makeup but unfortunately there are sometimes where you just need to get rid.
