The most important upgrade to me wasn't mentioned. It's the Hardware version 5 (HW5) upgrade in the Model Y Juniper's computing power, which is expected to support current and future upgrades to their full self driving (FSD) software.
The five-seater Model Y sounds like a great move for Tesla! It’ll make owning a Tesla more accessible for everyday drivers. Excited to see it in action!
In this order... Shocks upgrade, Longer Range, Headlights upgrade, Exterior & Interior Aesthetics, Wireless Charging if can use my present Wall Charger, Gear shift, Steering wheel
I'd like to see a powered Fruck, yoke steering wheel, and premium comfort ride suspension. The Model S has all of this. Why not bring these improvements down to the Y?
Bringing features like yoke steering and premium suspension to the Model Y could elevate its appeal, as seen with the Model S. Expanding such innovations across the lineup could further align Tesla’s brand with premium and performance options.
More inside lighting... meh. But if they can illuminate the door handle from the outside, yeah! It's really hard to find the flush door handle in the dark.
Extra interior lighting might not be essential, but illuminated exterior door handles would be a big improvement. It’s challenging to locate the flush handles at night, so a subtle light could be very practical.
If that would help avoid a flat tire. I’m not familiar with airless tires. We have a Model Y and I love the vehicle, but we got a flat tire at the Oregon Coast and the nearest Tesla dealership was about 80 miles away. Tesla will only pay for a 50 mile tow so we had to figure that one out. It was late Sunday afternoon and we were in a small coastal town. Finding a tow truck was a challenge. We ended having to get a tow truck all the way from Portland about 80 miles away. It worked out, but what would we have done if we were in the middle of nowhere?
So those pretty lights bar across the front & back aren't coming? Call me shallow - all the other upgrades sound great - but those cybercab-style light bars look sick, I want those!!
I paid off my jaguar XJL at 41K. A large full size luxury automobile which tesla dosent even make. It delivers 3 minutes of down times to fuel and for a great travel range of 570 miles highway. Also not available in a Tesla. I'll be glad when Tesla becomes diverse, making cars for those that like tiny little cars and for guys like me, a large full size luxury automobile. Add 5 to 10 minutes of charging for a range of atleast 500 miles, now were talking. Till then I think I'll simply leave well enough alone but, thanks anyway....
Tesla's Cybertruck was expected to offer bidirectional charging, which would allow it to feed power back into the grid or power homes. Without this feature, EVs miss out on a crucial benefit for energy resilience and reducing grid strain, especially during peak demands.
Some of us have lifetime free supercharging, will that be offered if we trade in our existing Teslas? If there are inverters in the new Model Y that allow us to send excess electricity to our Powerwalls or to power our homes, Tesla could be providing us with free energy for our houses. I'd want to go to the superchargers every day. @@adamtech999
@@adamtech999 my finger is already on the trigger. Waiting over a year now. Canceled my decision when they took the sensors away from the Model Y. I knew without a better software and no additional camera it will be a show stopper for a long time
Tesla are working on affordable vertions of Model Y and Model 3 and I am sure there will be cheaper ones as well but those cheaper will have smaller battery which will give shorter range and less features, for example they will remove ventelated seat, heat on steering wheel, back screen, the seat will not be leather but something cheaper, etc.
Depreciation doesn’t matter if one holds onto the car for 10-15 years until one gives it away to relatives or charities. For those that sell their cars after several years or lease cars, it is a money pit; they’re eating the entire depreciation cost in the first several years when it has the steepest decline in value. It would be interesting to see the total cost of ownership comparisons between a Tesla or EV vs a comparable ICE at year 10 and year 15.
Its time for Chinese great and affordable cars, but American auto industry one like Tesla oppose that. With Chinese cars, Tesla would go bankrupt in a year. This senseless ban is good for American corporations and bad for consumers.
@@adamtech999 When I mention style on Teslas I am talking about the dash area. There’s nothing there except a large computer on a plain surface. I’m a car guy and style means everything to me. For a car that costs this much, they could look a lot better. I guess Elons thinking is to go the way of the original VW Beatle, keep the same design and never change. Compare the Cadillac Lyriq and the upcoming Optiq to a Tesla. In the short period of time that GM has been building EV’s they are way ahead of Tesla on style.

The customizable protective coatings offer practical benefits for maintaining the car's appearance.
The potential for a special edition in China is intriguing. Tesla’s global strategy with these updates is something to watch.

I’m waiting to get the 2022 model y performance low miles for about 34k
wow. Great
When will it be out ?
Q1 2025 for 7-seater variant, and Q4 2025 for 5-seater variant
A smoother ride, ventilated seats, and a sub $45K price are all appealing.

A more affordable five-seater could definitely help Tesla reach a broader audience. Can’t wait to see it in person!

What changes will be made to the seating material and comfort in the new Model Y Juniper?

The Model Y Juniper's larger body might appeal to buyers looking for more space.
If only it had dash and proper turn signal stick...
great idea
I can do without the pretty interior lights, just give me a lot more sound deadening, to quiet the interior.
Of course. And the 2025 Y model will improve this well.

The middle class won't buy vehicles priced at $40k - $50k because they can't afford them and it's not a wise investment due to rapid depreciation..
