Doing so can result in unintended inputs to the touchscreen (phantom inputs), delayed response or unresponsiveness to touches, electrostatic discharge which can damage the touchscreen, etc. Any damage caused by installing a screen protector is not covered by the warranty." ... bottom line: they have a way to deny warranty coverage for any screen malfunction.

    I bought my 2019 Model 3 Standard Range + new and have driven it 45,000 miles. Biggest mistake - by far - was not buying the long range model. Huge mistake. I have very little battery degradation, rarely charge above 80%, and have a level 2 charger at home. But, if I charge to 80% and drive the 155 mile round trip from San Francisco to Santa Cruz I can barely make it home. So I charge to 85% and can drive 155 miles and bring it down to about 7-8%. The effective highway range is 155 miles. A huge huge hassle for longer trips! LA is a pain, Palm Springs nearly impossible. Tahoe.. no go. Seattle LOL.. forget it. Always buy the long range. Everything else is optional.

    • @kungfoochicken08
      @kungfoochicken08 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      @@kungfoochicken08@kungfoochicken08 I have two standard road trips: skiing 300 miles through mountains back and forth and a 360-mile round-trip highway. Even the long-range Model 3 can only make these trips with a charging. Cold multiplied by speed does the trick. I value my time and use a Hybrid car. Since superchargers consume time and are more expensive than gas.

    • @kungfoochicken08
      @kungfoochicken08 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@philipp4631 Is there a Supercharger on that route? A 300 mile trip would require a 10 minute stop at a Supercharger. They’re usually well place right off the highway.

    First point about charging at home; Not everyone has a driveway, and many people live in apartments that do not have access to charging, therefore the only solution is public chargers. Guess what? They're slow on an already slow charge time, and fast chargers are mostly occupied so you charge at a reduced rate compounding charge time problems. Also I'd like to point out it's 5mins tops to fuel an ICE car and range doesn't drop to sht if you use the A/C or heater.

    FSD is the only reason to own a Tesla if you are in the market for an EV. If I told you you can have a chauffeur to drive you everywhere for 5+ years when you buy the car would you pay $8k? I would.

    I was with you until the ambient lighting. Not only is that a waste of money, it can be dangerous. For optimal vision out in dark conditions, the darker the interior, the better. That idiot screen is already by far too large and complex, and at night is too bright if the light level is high enough to make it visible. I regularly drive on unlit roads at night. Darker inside is much safer. Ambient lighting hurts your night vision. The difference can be life or death, because without ambient lighting and with the dash lights low you may just be able to see, and so avoid, the moose that will come through your windshield and into your lap if you dont see it in time. If a moose lands in your lap, the moose may survive. You will not.

    A comment about buying a used Tesla at a higher price - in Turkey at the moment the basic Model Y tax-wise falls into the 10% Category, whereas buying Long Range and Performance you'd have to pay 80% (yes, not a typo, eighty freaking percent) over the official price. To make matters worse, just getting 20'' wheels will get your Rear-Drive version into that 80% range. So here it makes sense to buy a used one in that particular moment , because the inflation is crazy and you never know when all the Ys move to the "Eighty percent land" for good)). But that's just an exception, generally yeah, "New is always better", as "the only one rule" of Barney Stinson states😄

    So much excellent information. When you do your next video on used evs try to focus on battery health and treatment as part of it. I think your car tracks the charge history. Just like a ice engine, treatment can make or break a supposedly good deal.
    For the accessories, to all buyers...be careful. The new 2024 model 3 is not compatable with a lot of it. The floor mats appear to be in that category. The app says not compatable...the website says otherwise. That goes for several accessories.

    Not so good for me, I paid $250 deposit on a model Y only to cancel due to price, I get on line 2 days later and see that they dropped the price on the car $1800, sooo, I paid another $250 deposit to secure a car and very foolishly thought my trade value would stay the same, WRONG, they dropped the value of my car $1500 in two days, nothing changed, no extra miles, nothing. I understand market value but the minute I got the smack down on me, I did an online estimate on trade in value at Tesla and for some reason, the value was actually higher than my original trade value, $1600 higher than what they were offering in the final documentation, these games they play, I'll never deal with them again...
    **EDIT** After contacting them, and telling them what I thought, they raised the price of my trade to more than what the original was, so I'm happy now. Another mistake. Don't buy the black or dark gray color Teska. Why?
    According to a report by Monash University Accident Research Centre (MUARC) in Victoria Australia, black colored cars have a higher percentage of car crashes at night due to their low visibility.
    The study examined the police reports of 855,258 car crashes that happened in Australia between 1987-2004. The data were taken from Victoria and Western Australia because these are the only two Australian states that include vehicle color in their crash reports.
    The study found that when driving a black car at night, you are 47% more likely to get involved in a car accident. 12% more likely during the day.
    Black wheels, black tinted windows and blacked out chrome only make matters worse.
    A white car is the safest color. Followed by light colored cars such as light blue, light green etc.
    For your safety, never buy a black colored car.

    Biggest mistake is buying a refresh 3 with no stalks for turn nor driving, no rear middle heated seat, no fog lights, not much improvement in noise cancellation, no chrome finish nor piano black interior and no multi coat red paint. Honestly I hope Tesla puts out here back. Because I’m not seeing many 3 refresh models at all. They’re all mostly the older classic look and have more things vs refresh 3 which has less things for same cost
