Try these three tough tongue-twisters! An easy and fun way to engage an older adult with mild to moderate dementia.
Goals:
1) To provide an opportunity for cognitive stimulation via reading words on a screen and pronouncing tricky word combinations.
2) To provide an opportunity for positive social interaction (e.g.: laughter with a caregiver, friend, rec therapist, etc.).
3) To enhance speech motor control (control of the lips, teeth, tongue, mouth, etc.).
