I picked up mine the other day. The dials are such a welcome compared to the digital dashes of today. As a second car it's a joy to drive and gives me so much confidence on the road.
Thomas, great job giving this engine a proper sendoff. Can't wait for the overview of the electric variant.
I think the clock actually sums the interior up perfectly; a functional and elegant balance of analog and digital. All the switches I'd use 95% while driving are manual buttons/dials. Would maybe want a few of them like defrost and AC on/off real buttons, but very livable. Simple steering wheel with a few real buttons; some manufactures are cramming 15-20 functions in there. My old A4 use a stalk for cruise control and honestly I think it's one of the smartest things ever; un-clutters the steering wheel and is perfectly functional and tactile. Keyless entry with push to start would be nice, but for me not a game changer either.
Thomas, one thing I just remembered now that it's starting to get cold in the mornings; all these capacative buttons would be horrible while wearing gloves, even the touch screen compatible ones. Big touch screen icons still work alright for me and probably the center console buttons here, but a bunch of small and cluttered steering wheel controls would become absolutely useless.
Not big on the gold brake calipers and gold wheels combo, but that's all easily changed options.
Thomas, when do you think you will get the Macan GTS? Really looking forward to this review.

Great vid. I have a question. I have porsche 911 and now I'm thinking of getting a car with more seats. I'm thinking Macan S (2022), Cayenne coupe S, and Panamera Sport Turisumo. Which one would you recommend and why? Thanks!
Lovely refresh! I think this looks as good as the first gen, and much better in the rear. The interior is *beautiful!* hopefully when the EV macan comes, Porsche brings high grade leatherette in the future. And that 2.9L V6, mmmm! Such a good note. Love the macan! 😄🔥

No sunroof for me here in the UK .... Too many stories of leaking. And no sun.
Excellent review as always. The changes although not spectacular seem well thought, the most important being the power increase. Still, I think this is too small in terms of interior and luggage space for a family SUV - most probably a passenger would not fit behind me as a driver. I am hesitating between this Porsche - which does feel like something special and a BMW X3 M40i, which is for sure more practical, drives reasonably well, and is also a mild hybrid after LCI, which offers some advantages in my country. Which one would you choose between these two?

Amazing video as always Thomas. So they got rid of 1000 button centre console and replaced it with 1000 button touch sensitive buttons.
One of the virtues of the new design is the lack of button blanks for if you don't have all options ordered. Conversely, one of the drawbacks is the glare from our sun due to the piano gloss finish.
I am sure i have seen an option called porsche entry and drive which would indicate it to be keyless but of u still have to insert they key you might as well not get the option and instead spec pan roof.

If you are italien why you do not buy a grecale, or a stelvio which is cheaper
Again superb work Thomas, the only thing i miss in the macan is the head up display.
Perfect with no key less entry, no risk that the car is gone in the morning.
There is always risk of that, even without keyless option :D
It just reminded me my father used to say electric windows were not necessary as they break easily (over 30 years ago when he bought the lowest model of Volvo 240GL)
Just picked one up and my one has keyless entry
With keyless entry comes remote disable of the car. GPS locator. 21st century, mate.

2022 Macan S (21, 20, 19) in North America have keyless entry as standard and you dont have to place the key there to start it, just turn a switch on the left of the driver.
Does the body vibrate like in other suvs ? Or is it like a sedan?

Anyone with some experience of Rear Seats? I'm confused with Macan and Cayenne mostly because of congested sitting in rear of Macan.

Hi Thomas. Great review, thanks! It is definitely a possible replacement for my 2018 SQ5 as I don't like the current SQ5 Diesel engine. Have a test drive booked for the Mecan S as well as the Base Cayenne. I guess we just have to select our last Internal Combustion Engine car before the all electric cars come on stream in 4-5 years.

Very helpful. I have an S on order in the UK. You were using the paddles! I am especially looking forward to coasting and engine breaking. I believe you can initiate those with the accelerator as well? Wish we had the "quiet time" here in the UK....

Engine braking yes with pedals, but for coasting u must not use them
@@autogefuehl Why not, please? Macan forum/Rennlist says to shift up or ease off accelerator slowly. Ease off fast for engine braking. Is that wrong?
when you use the pedals you are putting gears in manually, imho it has to be in auto mode

Hi, I’m getting a macan s and I’m new to the brand. My current daily driver is a Volvo XC60 t6 2018 with 20” wheels and air suspension, have to say, not that comfortable! The macan I’m getting has 21” wheels PASM + air suspension! Will it feel better than the Volvo? Or should I get 20” instead? 19” are off the chart! Like to hear your thoughts! thank you!
I have xc90 on 20" with air suspension, and I just test drove new macan on 21" with air suspension. I think it's more comfortable, you'll be happy.
Do this car has PSE equipped?
Very good car, it can be sporty or very comfy as well...
Air PASM or standard PASM is enough?
Really like what they did on the refresh (prior one also looked great) I’m not a fan of the gold wheels at all though..
Macan has a great set up. I still like the real buttons over the glass touch. I reviewed my own 2 cars on my channel, base in chalk/blk and S in white/red. I have a NY accent.

2022 macan S vs normal cayenne coupe which is better?
I specked the S and it came to £68.000 with £15, 000 options. The same car in GTS spec was only £72,000. I’m getting a GTS to replace my 992 911 S I just sold.

Wait, there's a key less option in the configurator. It's included by default in the US and optional in Europe (I checked in Ukraine). Am I missing something?
If it does not have the keyless entry option, it’s still comes with the remote so you can unlock it from a distance you just won’t be able to put your hand behind the handle to unlock right?
You don’t need a key to enter Porsche Macan, well at list normally you have a kind of special key inside which you don’t take out.
If I were to take minimum optios whicg should they be? Sport exhaust? Chronopackage? Torque vectoring? Which are worth thr investment as indeed trying to keep the price low and focus on the driving pleasure :)

EV Macan should be interesting. It shouldn't need exaggerated intakes so it could have a more classic Porsche face. More performance, good range, solid VW EV platform.

Your reviews are excellent!!! Question for you, if you had to pick between a well equipped macan s for $85k usd vs a fully loaded sq5 for $72k (not including tax, title or registration for either). Which would you select? I was shocked at the beginning of your video when you said the macan didn’t have auto start or keyless entry…or a ambient light package.

@@martinm3480 Lol, u cant compare porsche macan s and audi sq5, porsche is much more interior and build quality than audi, porsche driving experince and sportines is miles over audi, dont even think about it go and buy porsche! Or even better go and try both cars and u will see yourself difference between those two cars.
@@nikolapetrovic7945 I’m still going back and forth on this. I’ve driven a q5 multiple times now, hours at time. I have driven an sq5 multiple times now, however for roughly two hours total. And I drove a 2021 macan for roughly 200 miles. My initial thoughts were, the macan handles so much better and a macan s will have more power. But then, the q5/sq5 have more interior space, it is a bit more comfortable of a ride (the macan had a stock suspension) and has more creature comforts. The HUD on the prestige models for the sq5, the interior lightings. Money wise the macan equipped similar to the sq5 is 5k more. Not a big deal but I can’t decide just yet. I’m hoping to test drive a macan s. I was impressed by the standard macan….so maybe the “s” will help me decide.

The profit margin on this vehicle must be nuts, this car is still build on Audis last gen Q5 platform build from 2008-2017. It doesn't even offer a head-up display, key-less go or other industry standards...yet costs well over 100k. Still i'd love to own one of these...however the only way i would buy it, is used with a hefty depreciation.

I had a 2020 MACAN S with the 3 liter , but I noted that the 2.9 is a much better engine
Then before this had the 2017 model . So may not upgrade on facelift again but wait for total new model

i don't consider the macan a true porsche until it gets a active wing that pops up and down and expands wide and tall enought to scare birds.
