Worried about George. I reached out to Bearded, he finally got a response from George last week. George is OKAY! He is just taking some time off! Love you Brother, enjoy your break! We are looking forward to your return! You are one heck of a teacher!
I was very relieved to hear Brother George is well. I kept thinking about Pint-O-Shine who ran Artisan Distiller’s Forum. He was a ground breaker like George. His local “Man” took him down. Exaggerated charges but worrisome just the same. George is a true Guru to the movement, a high value target if you will. Thank you George for risking the darts and arrows of the troglodytes. You are a blessing to the freedom movement.
George has single handedly taught me every single thing I know about distilling. I'm so thankful for this channel! Such an amazing teacher and mentor, a perfect blend of simplicity while also going fully in depth/"in the weeds" lol so grateful for all his videos and for him sharing all his knowledge!!
George, you may not see this comment but I wanted to let you know that I’m most appreciative of your informative videos. I’m very new to this hobby and I’m discovering that as I learn more and I review your older videos and I pick up on many tips that went over my head the first time I watched. You are an inspiration. Thank you for sharing your talents with us. I hope all is well with you.
Just watched Bearded and Bored new video. So happy to hear and see that you're doing well and thinking about a comeback. Can't wait to see what you do!😊

Hi George…I am the former President of Whole Foods Market. I have been retired for the last few years (after the Amazon Takeover). I have just dove into the distilling hobby…super green. I have watched hours and hours of your videos and have learned so much. You have an awesome personality and you are a very skilled teacher. You have the magic touch. Hoping you are well and thank you for leadership and mentorship 💚✌🏻
George Thank you for all the education you’ve given to us all. you’ve convinced me that I can create this impossible thing ,and I have , with hours of your tutoring over and over again even I can create a product worthy of praise. Thank you sir, don’t ever sell yourself short or worry about the pup’s nippin at your heals. I really hope to see you back again soon. If not may love and peace fill your life. Your humble student 🙏
For those of you who are wondering and concerned about George. I just chatted with his daughter-in-law, and she assures me that George is doing fine and that she will pass along our concern and encouragement. She hinted that he may be pursuing one of his other hobbies: TRAVEL!
I just wanted to say, Thank you for George. With your help, I've created my own version of big blue. You have sucked me into the hobby with your love and ambition for teaching. This hobby has got me sitting on pins and needles waiting on my first wort to finish bubbling. I'll be sampling my own alcohol this weekend (if everything works out as planned)
Good to hear George is well. Some of these videos have really helped me out and I'm not a distiller. Georges's teaching gave me a better understanding of boiler construction, heating elements, PID and more. Thank you very much George.
Thank you. George, you are one of the first and main persons I watched to learn how to still. You are amazing and I love your approach. Thank so very much for everything. You’ve made a difference.
These videos have really helped me to understand how a PID system operates and is assembled so I just wanted to take a second and thank you for your well thought and expertly delivered instruction. Again, many thanks
I just watched Jesse’s latest update, which lead me to Bearded’s post, it is great to see you are doing well & looking forward to seeing more content from you when your ready 👍

When dealing with Romex indoor house type wire with plastic style jacket or UF (underground feeder) gray overall plastic style jacket, that's when you would ask for 12/2 with ground to get a solid black, white and bare copper wire in it's jacket, or 12/3 with ground, it would have a solid black, white, red and bare copper ground in its jacket. I just want to say thank you for all that I have learned from you and for all that you have done. I hope you are enjoying yourself and know that you are missed. I hope someday to see you on here again. Until then I still love your videos and I still learn from them. Thank you for everything you have given all of us.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge. You're my go to guy when I REALLY want to know what's going on or how to do it without the wives tales. You even talk about wives tales and the likely causes. Thanks again
George was so committed to this channel. He is NOT on vacation nor is he still traveling. He could post a video from almost anyplace on the earth, to inform us of his adventures, if he wanted to. George either (1) had a major medical situation happen to him or (2) a legal issue. I have checked the obits in Coppers Cove, TX. He is alive. Whatever the reason, I do wish him well. I have learned so much from him and I truly do miss him. After all this time, I do not expect him to making new videos nor answer any questions. Time to accept reality...He's gone.
So much amazing content 😍!!! I haven't found anyone who goes into greater detail then you! Your videos are amazing, encouraging and accurate! Hope to see you back again, be blessed sir and be well! 🤲🏽 🧉🏺
12-2. My former (YES!) boss and I used to go back and forth on 12-2 cables having 2 or 3 conductors in them. I said they were 3 conductors, 2 power leads, and a ground. He said that 12-2 was just 2 wires and no ground. Retirement is GREAT! First SS check in a few weeks. steve
Can I please just say thank you George, you're a legend. Thank you so much for your intuitive and informative videos. Enjoy your well earned break. Hope to see you soon. From Down Under.
George because of you I started a couple of years ago. I have 2 PID controllers (pre-assembled because I was fearful) but now have started to collect all the parts for a manual controller (SCR-based) and have gained the confidence (from watching you build ) to build my own. I am looking for a mini-jack/plug assy for my temp gauge, already recv'd my 1/2" K probe which came with 2 lug connection...my othe probes are jack connected. This is my last hurdle...THANKS, GEORGE! you got me into this hobby and am loving it. You taught me everything! and not to boast, but have gotten damn good at it, at least my friends love what I make...truely George, it's all because of you
@@Hanson423 Inkbird #IPB168 (from Inkbird) & Bayite #BTC211 (from Amazon)...note:these are for my 1500W elements. I built (from George's lessons) an SCR manual controller for my 2000W element
@@Hanson423 The Inkbird rocks, I use it all the time...the Baylite was getting complicated. Each cost less than $50.00. The build cost me about the same, but I got great satisfaction when it was done...and it worked!!

George is an icon. He introduced many of us into this hobby. making TH-cam videos can be a huge PITA and George made many priceless ones. It is fine if he wants to take a break from filming or has moved on to other things, but it is on us to keep this channel alive for new people to discover. How do we do that? Watch some of Georges old videos. There are probably some you have missed, almost certainly there are. Click like and leave a comment. Even if George isn't posting, that keeps the channel alive to the TH-cam algorithms and lets people new to this game discover this wealth of information. "But," you say, "there are Jesse's _Stillit_ and _Bearded and Bored's_ channels." Sure. Fine channels, but nobody introduces the totally new distiller to what we do and the language that we use and understanding the fundamentals like George. And now it is on us to keep the tradition alive.
Hi George, name is Calvin from Cape Town south Africa. Just Wana say can't wait for more content, I got into the hobby because of you. And I'm going to run my 50L reflux still I built for the first time today. I regard you as my teacher, thanks very much glad u are back
Please George put out a video if you can. With many blessings and prayers from Northern Israel for your health wealth and safety to you and your entire family, plus friends. Wishing that this small communication finds you and yours in the best of health and safety known to be humanly possible. I listen to your tutorials and step by step processes eagerly. I had a couple small stills in Oregon but now I live in Israel and share your wealth of knowledge with all my friends here inside Israel. Wishing you only Shalom (Peace) and prosperity "שִׂגשׂוּג" for your entire life. Be safe and well in these trying times.
Hello George! :) I just wanted to say thank you for an amazing Channel and for bringing me into this amazing hobby of destilling! Everything i know about this hobby i learned from you George! Thank you and i hope to see you around here again :) Happy Destilling
Glad to hear George is ok, was getting worried we'd lost our greatest teacher on the subject. I've learned and done so much under George's tutelage. Hope to see you soon professor...
Hey guys, stumbled across this channel a few weeks ago. George does such a wonderful job explaining the PID builds. I also didn’t realize how affordable the parts to build these controllers are. We also worry about a worst case scenario. It seems to me, if the SSR fails in the closed position normal full load amps will be applied to the heating element and a temperature runaway will occur until the SSR overheats into the open position. I may have missed something, please let me know. ( Have my parts for 120 volt build ordered)
Dear George hope all’s well with you and your family take care of yourself because you and yours come before us. But will be happy to watch and learn again in the future
I gave up distilling a year ago, because the quality I learned to make from this guy was so extremely high, and completely gave up drinking in September. I came across some I had stored in archive from my distilling and it’s aged extremely well. But my commonsense got the better of me and I handed it off. I was very sick from having way too much of good quality alcohol available, so I hope that George is in good health, and everyone who reads this, keep your drinking healthy, because it can go off the rails very quickly.
@@brandonstiffler7946 I went through a rapid detox in hospital, and apparently vitamin B1 is very good for you because I have to take 2200mg a day. After detoxing, I just told myself that I simply don’t need and can’t have alcohol again. I respect the craft very much though, the quality of what you can make is outstanding.
We miss you George. Will you be back on the air? We miss you. Thank you very much for everything. I have learned more from you than all other places combined. Because of your teachings, I will be opening a Distillery in Central Texas. I pray that you and your family are well. We love you .

I just got introduced to George’s TH-cam channel buy Jesse at Still it . I have learned so much in the past week from watching George his videos. I am so thankful that we have thatHistory here on TH-cam. I wish him the best and hope he can make it back. Thanks to Jesse and bearded and bored.
George, miss your videos, my favorite channel, not sure you are totally off your channel but hopefully you are still taking e-mails. I did my first pot still stripping run of a honey mash. I was rewarded with 5 quarts of 65 ABV of distillate, I want to run it a second time but I don’t know how much water I have to add to run it safely. Also, can I add some of the sour mash from my first run along with water on this second run? Here’s hoping you are well and return with your vast knowledge of this hobby. Thank you and God bless.
Posting an update here from my last comment a couple months ago. My PID controller works beautifully for a standard pot still column. It also works with my 4 plate flute column but it's really challenging to maintain a good reflux run regardless how low of a flow I had going to the deflag. I'll probably build a PWM controller as well so I can maintain constant heat to make those reflux runs more efficient and effective. I wonder where I could find a good video for that build? Oh yes, George has me covered there too. I'm doing so much with what I've learned from you George. Thanks so much, hope you're having a great break and I look forward to seeing you return when you're ready. Happy Distilling!

I just want to say thank you for all that I have learned from you and for all that you have done. I hope you are enjoying yourself and know that you are missed. I hope someday to see you on here again. Until then I still love your videos and I still learn from them. Thank you for everything you have given all of us.
I’ve seen probably 8 of your videos and this one got the subscription. You are a natural shop teacher.
12-2.
My former (YES!) boss and I used to go back and forth
on 12-2 cables having 2 or 3 conductors in them. I said
they were 3 conductors, 2 power leads, and a ground.
He said that 12-2 was just 2 wires and no ground.
Retirement is GREAT! First SS check in a few weeks.

You taught me everything! and not to boast, but have gotten damn good at it, at least my friends love what I make...truely George, it's all because of you
What brands are your pids? Where did you get them from?
@@Hanson423 Inkbird #IPB168 (from Inkbird) & Bayite #BTC211 (from Amazon)...note:these are for my 1500W elements.
I built (from George's lessons) an SCR manual controller for my 2000W element
@@mauistevebear thanks! I’m either buy one prebuilt or make the one this video. It’ll depend on the cost and how brave I am building it myself haha
@@mauistevebear what did you think of the inkbird and bayite? Did the work well for you?

We are missing you my friend. Hope you get back soon! Best wishes from Sinatra's Lamaland
Still not a word from George , any chance a list member lives near enough to him to check in on George ?
This is the best home brew, distillery channel on TH-cam!
Praise the Lord, it’s Good to have you back Sir!
Hi George, name is Calvin from Cape Town south Africa. Just Wana say can't wait for more content, I got into the hobby because of you. And I'm going to run my 50L reflux still I built for the first time today. I regard you as my teacher, thanks very much glad u are back

Good to know that George is alright. Take care professor.
I just recently found your videos. I'm not sure if you still read these comments. But I just have to say thank you for all you have done.
Can't tell you how glad I am to know he is coming back

Please George put out a video if you can. With many blessings and prayers from Northern Israel for your health wealth and safety to you and your entire family, plus friends. Wishing that this small communication finds you and yours in the best of health and safety known to be humanly possible. I listen to your tutorials and step by step processes eagerly. I had a couple small stills in Oregon but now I live in Israel and share your wealth of knowledge with all my friends here inside Israel. Wishing you only Shalom (Peace) and prosperity "שִׂגשׂוּג" for your entire life. Be safe and well in these trying times.
One of the best TH-cam channels that I learned a lot from
Thank you very much George 🙏🏼

Happy distillation ..

Hello George! :) I just wanted to say thank you for an amazing Channel and for bringing me into this amazing hobby of destilling! Everything i know about this hobby i learned from you George! Thank you and i hope to see you around here again :) Happy Destilling
Hi George! I "HOPS" you are doing fine! You did teach me everything I know about distilling... missing you!
I hope this finds you well! Waiting for your comeback!
Great info George. We will never meet but please accept this as a virtual handshake for all your great content.
I'm very glad to hear George is doing okay. I have learned so much from him, and have so much more I need to! Hurry back George! 😉
Can't wait tell you come back. And see what you do next.
Hey George, we miss you, if you are retiring from the channel I am sure we would all love one last goodbye video!
I gave up distilling a year ago, because the quality I learned to make from this guy was so extremely high, and completely gave up drinking in September.
I came across some I had stored in archive from my distilling and it’s aged extremely well. But my commonsense got the better of me and I handed it off.
I was very sick from having way too much of good quality alcohol available, so I hope that George is in good health, and everyone who reads this, keep your drinking healthy, because it can go off the rails very quickly.
glad you took the steps needed for your health. Much respect to you my friend as many do not.
Glad you recognized the signs and got the help to maintain your health!!
We miss you George. Will you be back on the air? We miss you. Thank you very much for everything. I have learned more from you than all other places combined. Because of your teachings, I will be opening a Distillery in Central Texas. I pray that you and your family are well. We love you .
I like the new camera angle , really gets a bird eye view on the construction of that controller
George hope all is well. Thanks for all the knowledge!
Man I just found this channel and it's like the holy grail of knowledge for what I've been wanting to get into for years.. I sure hope George is ok and doing well he is so well at explaining everything I'm confident I can actually start .. it's been awhile since he has posted so just hope all is well..
We miss you George!
You are very important to this community
You don’t owe anything to anyone, but we sincerely care about you, and wish you would come back.
You are a beloved mentor to most of us.
I'm glad to hear he's OK. His videos are entertaining and educational. I've been re watching his older videos and can't wait to see if he puts out anymore.
George, I'm so glade to hear you are coming back. Just watched your conversation with Bearded 👍👍👍
Hope everything’s ok George, best wishes from the UK!
Miss you George praying all is well god bless you and your family merry Christmas ☃️🎄
Been following you for years, I've now subscribed as I'm making the step up too distilling top man thank you for making my life simpler 👍🤪
Missing this channel. I learn SO much.
Hope you and yours are good George.
Thanks.
I am so glad to hear you are okay and that you are thinging about coming back on i have learned so much from you we called you the professor
so glad george is fine, love the videos!!!!!!!!!!!1
