    George just wanna say thank you for all the info you have shared in past yrs. Just finished my 2nd run through your beginer home distilling videos. Very very helpful. My good friend has shown me the ropes with his homeade still. This is something i have been wanting to learn for 25 yrs. Just havent til now. So ive watch everything you have put on utube atleast once. And now im on my 2nd still. A 8gal reflyx from brewhouse. Tonight i am tasting my polished spirit that is 3 different runs. Used crown chips medium. Thined out to 100 proof. And its amazing. So thank you so much for all the important steps for sucsess. information has helped. i have the basic understanding of beginning to end. So George, such a big thank you. My best friend and you have made a dream come true. God bless

    Hi George, I’m glad you’re back. Learned a lot from your videos on new to distilling. I had a question about yeast, any concern about urea content? Seems to be hard to find yeast nutrient without it. Thank you for your knowledge.

    I designed a 3D printed housing junction pacifically for pid. Looks amazing! All the components are designed to fit into the cutouts i order from Amazon. I been using them on my autoclave and steam mushroom substrate Pasteurizer. I have 20amp and 50 amp circuit compatibility with my housing boxes

    We have missed you very much. Nice to have you back. I have learned to take notes on your videos, because you give us so much great information! My apologies because I do have a stupid question to ask. If you trace back the neutral wire to the panel, in the shop, it goes to exactly the same place as the ground. You explained very clearly that the neutral and ground have totally different uses, so why do they both connect to the ground bus bar in the panel. I am confused.

    What's the chance you could do a video(s) on ramp and soak PID? Building a controller based on one is simple, understanding how it works and how to program it is a whole different bag of porcupines.

  • @cookcrazy
    @cookcrazy 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    When your placing a Mini k-Type Panel mount receptacle sockets in the Project box, and running the wire from the receptacle back to the PID controller.... what kind of wire do you use? My limited understanding is you need to run "Thermocouple wire" of the same type, due to how the metal type in the wire reacts differently causing erroneous readings? Sorry for my lack of explaining that properly LOL - but some insight into this would be great.

    How do I contact George with a couple of questions? I have built a PID for my still using your instructions and Inkbird parts. All new and wired to your specs. I am able to set to your specs without any problems. When I plug in the still and try to start it there is no power getting to the still. Any suggestions?

    Hello George. Good to see you back again. I have a question that may seem a bit basic but I need Thesome input from you.
    First I am OLD. I am a late bloomer in distilling and have a great time doing so. Here is my question. I have a DigiBoil 240V unit. As you probably know, the unit has it's own temperature control. In my opinion, hjt is not the best setup. I have made a PID using your video and information provided. I have read several different articles about how some have added a PID controler to their Brewzilla and Digiboil and made mods to bypass the controler in the unit. Why not just turn up the internal control unit very high and let the PID do the work? Is that logical thinking or am I missing something. Missing something is entirely possible as this old 80 something brain doesn't do the job like it used to do.
    Any information you could provide would be appriciated.Thank
    Again, good to see you back.

    These are great, thanks for doing this. I cannot find the power distribution blocks. When i search amazon all that seems to come up are busbars for automotive applications. Maybe these would work but they are more expensive and a bit different.
    If you or someone could post a link that would be great!

    I have a question. I just got don’t making my very first run. I used 1 gallon of apple juice and 3 gallons of water. Ph was 5.00. As soon as it was done fermenting I put it in the still and heated it up to 200 degrees and lowers the heat a little, now my moonshine taste like burnt rubber, why does it taste like that and what should I do so that it won’t happen again?

    for a car to electricity comparison - voltage would be torque. horse power would be power, in watts. amps would be the speed, since at constant horsepower speed increases and torque decreases. the same as constant electrical power and increasing amps with lower voltage.

    Your example is backwards, the water analogy is pressure is simpler to voltage, it is a representation of potential to do work. It also can be represented by the height of water, the higher it is the more pressure exists, again similar to increasing voltage. The rate of flow is equivalent to amperage, the number of molecules of water moving past a given point is similar to electrons moving past a given point in a circuit. Resistance is the hardest to make with this analogy, we pinch off the flow of water by blocking a tube, a mechanical switch is similar to this but a resistor or heater element does not stop the flow, it consumes it by turning it into heat.
