This pedalboard is magic and I regret do not have bought it years ago already. With Reaper is damn useful. Right now I'm talking with another studi owner, he wanted to sell it. When I highlighted to him what he can do with it, he removed the offer to sell it 😀 Under Reaper is a great tool.

@@guitarschoollive Hi Guitar Schools - I've played guitar since 1963, in the last frew years I've worked on bass, lap steel, slide guitar, keys, samplers, and as always - backing vocals. I'm always looking for interesting ways to loop and play samples. Having 100 midi presets/triggers at my toes is going to make it even more interesting.

Thank you! I want to leave my bulky rack case with my keyboard module at home and just take my laptop to rehearsal. I found that Roland has a virtual JV 1080 as a plugin! I need to be able to switch between presets. I loaded the plugin onto 5 different tracks and set them up like I do on the real rack unit. I then create a custom action with "unarm all tracks for recording" and "toggle record arm for track #". Thanks for your help! I didn't think it was possible!

Hello @SEANTHEPR0DUCER, thank you for reaching out to us with your question. If you’re using a USB to midi cable, the only cable we can confirm that can consistently send the large data packets required by the FCB1010 is the Roland UM-ONE MK2 USB MIDI Interface. Most of the cheaper cables do not work. However there is 1 cable the is inexpensive that some of our subscribers have claimed to have success with and that is the FORE MIDI to USB Interface. It can be found on Amazon using the following link:

I remember years ago I setted up this and forgot because I never used it.
Now I want to use my FCB with some ampsim, VST's and other devices like a POD HD, I can't, because everytime I push the stompbox 5 (UnO), Reaper starts to playback and I can't find where I can erase this setup. It's the CC55, that eneables delays on my POD, but I also got it with midi thru to an Audiobox 22 vsl, which manages the VST's inside Reaper. So I press stomp 5, sends cc55 to the POD, then it goes thru the Audiobox, then into Reaper to enable a Reverb VST.
    Maybe it's on SWS configs?
I absolutely forgot how to setup, or even delete those configurations....
    Please help 😭

Hello @veronicagorosito187, thank you for reaching out to us for assistance. You can find and disable the shortcut in Reaper by using the following steps:
      • In the menu go to ‘Actions’
      • Show ‘Actions List’
      • Click the ‘Find Shortcut’ button
      • Step on Pedal 5 on the controller (The action it is assigned to will be selected)
      • Highlight the action
      • In the box on the bottom left select the action and click the delete button
Now your pedal will not trigger playback.

@@guitarschoollive Sure, the signal chain goes from an Ibanez rg7420 to the POD HD PRO X, then in the FX loop of the POD, I have an I/O for the Audiobox 22 vsl. The Audiobox works into Reaper where I have 3 tracks:
      1) Blue Cat's Reguitar, for acoustic simulation.
      2) Diezel VH4, with its 4 channels.
      3) Waves GTR stomp 2 with only a Volume pedal, and Tritik IRID for shimmer reverbs.
In the POD, I have 8 presets divided in two: 1-4 for the 4 channels of the VH4, covering from cleans to crunch to heavy sounds, wah, delays.
Then presets 5-8: I use the the 5 only for a clean channel for ambient purposes. Long reverbs, and the Reguitar setup which gives me a very close acoustic hollow body sound.
I use middle position in the guitar mostly for that, with a mod made by a guitar tech to split the 5 H-H positions, which gets more close to an acoustic sound. The Reguitar, compression, chorus and some other tricks do the job. Also the tone knob shifts the phase of 2-3-4 positions.
The presets 6, 7 and 8 I have setup for whammy's, intelligent harmony in the 12 different keys, only using the Ch.2 from the amp.
All the MIDI is sent by the FCB to the Audiobox, and to Reaper just in midi Ch 1, nothing complex. I used Ripwerx FCB editor to do all this programming.
To clarify, I added the GTR stomp 2 to the track 3 after the VH4, because when I need to do volume swells with the POD, it's all post-Reverbs, cutting the sound abruptly, and if I put the volume pedal before the VH4, it's not a true volume swell, but like rolling off the volume pot in the guitar....some people like that but I do NOT.
Now I trigger the 8 presets in Reaper through SWS Snapshots, and only have the added VST's in preset 5.
To trigger the Reguitar and the IRID, I use one smartphone via USB with an app that sends midi notes. When I'm not using the phone, I use a keyboard controller at hand, sending the same notes.
I need an additional foot controller with at least 4 switches, to trigger those VST's...but in the meantime I have this setup.
Hope you enjoy to hear about this approach! It's messy due to the limitations of the FCB switches and my need of using in my opinion, the best amp ever. I was thinking on getting a TONEX, but I will lose the reverb.
      When I get rich, I'll buy an AX8, a Taylor 214ce and a Strymon 🥰

Hello bledboost , thank you for reaching out to us.
If you are using a midi to USB cable, the only one that users have success with is the Roland UM-ONE mk2 USB MIDI Interface: www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/UMOneMk2-roland-um-one-mk2-usb-midi-interface.
It seems that other cables cannot send the data between the computer and the controller.

    • @guitarschoollive
      @guitarschoollive  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Hello @CedricJ.project, thank you for reaching out to us with your question. If you’re not receiving any data first make sure that ‘Midi Out’ of the controller is connected to ‘Midi In’ of the interface to send data to your computer. To send from the editor to the FCB1010 connect ‘Midi Out’ from the interface to ‘Midi In’ of the controller. You can just use one cable and switch back and forth as needed.
If you have it connected properly and you’re still not able to send or receive data then the usual culprit is either a bad midi cable or your interface is not setup in Reaper. Use the following steps to setup your interface in Reaper:
Press ‘Ctrl + P’ to open the Preferences menu
      Scroll down to ‘Midi Devices’
      In the upper pane:
      • Double click ‘Focusrite USB Midi’
      Place a check in
      • ‘Enable input from this device’
      • ‘Include input from this device in ALL MIDI INPUT’
      • ‘Enable input for control messages’
      In the lower pane:
      Double click ‘Focusrite USB Midi’
Check ‘Enable output to this device’
      Click Apply and OK
