  • Hi there all, second in a series of videos on the FCB1010 Midi Foot Controller from Behringer. Today, a brief look at the available third party software editors. In the next video I'll show how to use them to program the FCB1010.
For info, here are the links where you can download each of the editors

Thanks so much for the videos. I’m just struggling to get this works on my IPad, I downloaded the FBc1010 manager file for Mac and when i press it to open on my iPad litteraly nothing really happens, none installation page or anything to setup, is all connected by my audio interface and midi cables and all from the Fcb1010 but I’m just stuck on it. Any ideas what am I doing wrong or what am I missing here ? Any help much appreciated cheers 🙏🏽

Hi there, not an expert with iPad/Mac stuff - but I don’t think you can just load a Mac program onto an iPad, they’re effectively different operating systems?. I’m assuming you want to program the FCB1010 using an iPad rather than a Mac or PC, if so there is an iOS app called FCBFF which is available, which may be the sort of thing you are looking for

hi niec to meet you , can you tell me if its possible to play notes on the FCB1010 ? thanks

Hi, Yes you can. Each preset (you can have up to 100 presets) can send a ‘note on’ value - so you could have all 88 notes from a piano keyboard each programmed to a preset or you could program the notes you want for a specific song etc etc. Dependent on your set up you could also be able to trigger chords (e.g. many synths have a ‘chord’ function where you can trigger a chord by playing a single key - if you program this key value to a preset on the FCB1010 it will trigger the chord 🙂

#1 (Ed Dixon's FCB1010 Midi editor Setup) doesn't run on Windows 10, at least not on my machine. It just crashes on startup.

Not sure where the issue is there, I’m running Windows 10 and works perfectly for me (as do all the available editors). Must be some sort of conflict somewhere 🙁

I bought an ex demo fcb1010, and I think it might be fried. No matter what I do on the board, the midi output is just garbage, a mix of channels and midi data that bears no consistent resemblance to what I've programmed. Sigh. I just ordered a UnO1.4 chip, hopefully that will fix it, but if not I'm gonna gut it and wire the switches to an Arduino.

      Did it fixed your issues?

@@ANCAPVoluntaryist nope. It's currently sitting in my project pile waiting for gutting. I have been gigging with a couple of pedals and a zoom G2Nu and it's been fine, so I haven't been in a hurry to address the fcb problems.
