    That's why we can't have nice things. For those who knows what this car is are celebrating it. For those who don't know, not everything is about horsepower, 0-60 times, or mpg. Its about the driving experience. The more you add, the higher the price get and the less people buy it, which make them disappear. Don't forget the late 90's. Go and buy them, ALL!

    • @dougrobinson8602
      @dougrobinson8602 3 ปีที่แล้ว +25

      This GR86 is a classic "Driving a slow car fast" proposition. Momentum is key, and having a rear end with limited slip that loves to go sideways is icing on the cake. Unless you're loaded, it's this or the Miata, and neither one is what I'd call cheap. Hyundai should stick the Veloster N engine in the back of something mid-engined. That'd be a blast.

      That fact that this car doesn't have the same amount of horsepower and torque as a base WRX is fucking dumb. It's a legitimate criticism that this car has not, and apparently will not, have enough power.

      Theres no reason for this car to not be as fast as the WRX. 86 apologists need to get Toyota and Subarus dick out there mouth and realize it's slow and should be faster. It's been a criticism of the car from day 1

    • @kevinbailey3239
      @kevinbailey3239 3 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      Agree to an extent. We can't have nice things because the enthusiasts who celebrate this also immediately do the mental calculation on the depreciation curve and how cheap they can get one in 3-5 years. Got to buy this stuff new or we end up with CUV hell.

Their mechanics know how to work on the engine and trans better if it ever needs the dealer. I like the looks, though there are some parts of the old car I prefer. Both look good and will age well. Stiffer, more powerful, manual option, improved mechanical linkage transmission, pretty much a better car in every way. Only weight added about the same as a meal at the Outback steakhouse. Get rid of the horrible fake engine noise though. Crazy to me Toyota expects low manual take rate. BRZ was usually 75%+ in the past. Can't wait for your full review!
