So you forgot the intercooler... That is definitely a necessity if you are stage two.. Maybe not so much in the northern States when it's cold but in the summertime you definitely need it...
Several things: Cold Air Intakes - The factory box is as cold as you get unless you put the filter outside the car. It is enclosed and all that is needed is a higher flow filter to gain CFM. Truth. Exhaust - Depending on the Stage of the tune, an Upgraded DP (catted or not) is all that is needed unless power levels are exceeding 450hp or so - it'll flow fine. Factory piping - Nothing wrong with factory piping. Once air is heated, the velocity is plentiful. Many believe that they are "restrictions", but they are not; that is just to sell more gear. Suspension - you are right on there! Suspension is key when adding more power and playing more agressively, otherwise power is a waste.
im surprised people use all the same brand bolt-ons on these cars... ive only seen once that someone uses Akrapovic slip-ons or full system.. wich are known and legendary on bikes they make for cars as well like GTI... mk6/7 ... they have nice sporty low-end sound
Best mod on these is rear doors delete. Real tricky bc you need to fit longer front doors & move the B pillar but I see you did a fine job Looks awesome 🤣
270klm.. good to know mate, just bought 2011 MK6 GTI 3 door 202klm.. just spent 4k on the motor as she was neglected. Needed a new run around and just bought after a test drive. I fell in love with the DSG I knew they had issues what car doesn't. Yes not cheap to maintain but it's all relative. Cheap as to a Ferrari owner. It had dump pipe high flow cat and straight through exhaust, I've installed cold air intake, intercooler and tune next. Can't wait to to eat some more expensive cars. I'm 46Y.O and have only driven crappy work vehicles for the last 15 years. So good to drive something fun again
When you go aftermarket intake id wrap ot in heatwarap as they're metal and soak in alot of heat from the engine as opposed to factory plastic. I found this when i did mine, just a tip to keep intake temps down which is the whole point of any turbo car.
You forgot the most important mod............. traction via modding the suspension, what's power worth if you can't put it down . Just lowering your car will only make it quick in corners it won't make it faster on launch or drag strip you have set it up for a fwd with more power . The rest of your video was very informative.
Put a new revision D DV and a glasspack and a Neuspeed cold air intake on my Mk5 GTI. I thought it might sound bad but by leaving the resonator on it makes it sound pretty clean. She's almost ready.
@@CraftyWorkshopBuilds I don't think I ever plan on upgrading to the K04 turbo. Would it still be worth it to upgrade the downpipes and the turbo pipes??
I got my gti from a guy and it’s got a kenwood radio which lets me access gages and stuff. It doesn’t have an accessport however. So is an accessport necessary for these cars?

You are correct with your first modification but you need to keep the intake enclosed and away from hot air near the radiator.

Me crying in 4 door 😭, idc I love it and it’s super practical
I can’t tell if that’s sarcasm but if it isn’t that’s one of the most insane takes I’ve ever heard.

No point at all for those who can't see.
Have you ever seen a 5dr concept car?
This is one of the nicest engine bays I've seen
much respect 👍🏽
You also have to make sure if you have to add a secondary intake filter for proper flow. Sounds amazing too
Thank you for this! I've got an 11 CC that I have been racking my head on an order for, this helps insanely! Subscribed :)
