As someone whos done most of these, even using both types of wireless chargers the one you showed and the one that replaces the ash tray cover. I don't use them as much as I thought I would. I ended up getting the rennline phone mount with wireless charging and that is by far the best option. For the usb charging ports, you can get a pair of pd ports for under 20 bucks, and they work great.
I've personally done a lot of these mods and by far the wireless charger is one of my favourite. I use a chunky S21 ultra, not issues with charging it. My phone has never slipped off of it.
I recommend the ecs trunk pop kit. I thought it was a silly upgrade but it is super handy when shopping or if you have kids. I also recommend the inbay wireless charger for mk5/mk6. Lastly, if you are at all comfortable with soldering, you can modify the rcd330 to have a usb female extension cable soldered to the pads on the motherboard. Someone on youtube has a tutorial on how to do this. The usb extension can be used for the button blanks or you can purchase a wireless carplay/android dongle and place under the center dash. link to tutorial th-cam.com/video/1E_CxNcDUMM/w-d-xo.html
One tip for the guys that want to stand out more with the visibility of your car and have spare money left. Get the Full LED Kit from Osram. It has Xenon Bulbs but every other light is LED. I have it in my Golf and it looks so much better then the standart OEMs from VW.
@@AndreasRP. A matter of taste i would say. And not everyone has the Original Xenon cause it was optional. I for example had the Halogen Lights before but i personaly dont like the OEM Xenon Lights, so I switched to Osram^^
Does the head unit have a microphone for calls/siri, or does it use the phone's microphone? Also do you program the OEM Apple carplay/android auto head unit or is it plug and play? The buttons are so nice on the OEM head unit but i went with a 3rd party one and the buttons are breaking and originally wanted to replace it with this but heard you had to program it. Also the phone sliding back hitting and the shifter getting stuck is really actually a frequent problem and big headache in that cubby stock or not haha!
Regarding the wireless charger, I installed it in my mk5, my phone never slips, it's an S23, so it's smaller than yours, bigger phones will definitely stick out more. Regarding the small glove box on the driver's side, NEVER put coins in there, it will bug out your brain :D but it is really useful for other stuff, such as parking RFID cards. Something else that I want to ask you, will the box under the seat fit a golf mk5/6 seat or only GTI seat, also only passenger or both passenger and driver? P.S the wireless charger does the job, but it's miles slower than if you're using a cable. So basically with those 15 watts, you can charge your phone if you're driving long distances, but other than that, it should just keep the battery % stable or charge it just a bit, like 5-10% if you're driving short distances.
Yeah, it just works. Some have some programmability, but it'll have instructions for it with the unit. Everything works out of the box, I believe the programming is for brightness and time adjustments. I didn't find any adjustment necessary.
@@eurodriven2507 The adjustments is for setting the coming home and leaving for low long the lights stay on as well as setting the light sensor and turning on the tunnel mode. You can also set up the fogs to come on with your headlight in the auto mode.
Hey Mate, which RCD330 did you get? I recently installed mine (an 187b Noname) and felt that the sound quality compared to my prior RNS 310 is quite poor : /
I can’t find the coin tray for a mark 6 only for the mk5, so you know if there is any modifications you have to do to fit it in? Also did you ever get around to doing it? Thanks in advance.
If your car doesn't have heated seats, you can always swap the seats for ones that did. It will take some wiring and probably some VCDS coding, but it is possible.
@@A-SavageRedneck Unfortunately the ones I bought off eBay aren't available anymore, but the Amazon ones I have linked in the description have favorable reviews.
I just threw leds in my headlights and my hi beams were flickering and I'm so glad you had an explanation. Thank you!

The standard OEM xenon lights are cool tho

Where can you buy the mk6 Osram lights now?? I haven’t seen them sold New in a couple years….
@@Escape.Idiocracy I bought them of Amazon. Also they should be still cheaper then the OEM Xenon’s.
Thats pretty good and informative video. Keep it up bro!🤜🏼

Nice to know! I believe the under driver trays are Mk5 and Mk6, ECS is the only place I've seen them for sale, so check their site to verify fitment.
Soo, when replacing the headlight switch with one that has the Auto function, it just works?

Are you referring to the factory coin tray with the 12v/cigarette lighter power or the cubby that goes next to the driver's door?

Are the mirror upgrades factory options from overseas somewhere? I
I'm not sure if it was a factory option anywhere, but they are sometimes referred to as "Euro mirrors." Pretty common on BMW's too!
@eurodriven2507 appreciate it. Definitely gonna look into them but don't want something cheap and chinsey. Tired of being blinded by leds
