    I did the 6pot 18z Q7 bremboz on my audi a4 2.0t quattro. its a direct bolt on with the exception i had to use ML55 amg rotors thats 345mm. ML55 rotors stock centre bore is 67mm.. i had to find someone to open it up to 68mm to fit the audi centre bore hub. rs4 brake lines. im currently looking into making my own rear brackets to fit the 17z 4pot brembo from a Q7 rears to my A4 rears with 330mm s5 rotors with a wilwood dual caliper to retain the handbrake!

    How did the brake pedal feel afterwards? I head you have to install a bigger master cylinder from a rs3 so the pedal doesn't feel mushy after installing these?

    Do you think this kit would work for my car?

    • @CraftyWorkshopBuilds
      @CraftyWorkshopBuilds  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You might have to change the spindle to the mk6 one, but I haven't got the chance to inspect the spindle on the Audi A3. I can't say for sure that the caliper is going to be a direct fit as is, but once you get the caliper mounted, everything else should work.

    So I was curious.. I own a golf R mk7 and wanted to install this set up sometime next year. It was mentioned that with the mk7 you would need to grind approx 1mm off for clearance on the back? But it uses the MK6 knuckles for the install.. would you know where the grinding is needed? Appreciate any info on the swap. Thank you in advance!! 🙏🙏

      I might do the rear aswell, I still haven't decided as yet. But, yea you'll have to run a dual setup in the rear to maintain your handbrake. It's also recommended that you upgrade your brake booster as well.

      @@CraftyWorkshopBuilds But how do the brakes feel now in comparison, you know like do they have more bite or do they just feel the same? Did you ever push the original brakes hard while using sticky tires and compare to them now?

    Thanks for sharing.
    I recently bought an S3 8P 2012, so this upgrade should be plug and play as well, right?. As far as i understand MK6 and 8P share the same platform.
    Any inputs will be appreciated, just looking from some upgrades since is time to do brakes on my car and no reason to stay stock :D

      Thanks for watching! Yea, if your car have the aluminum steering knuckle, you might have to switch it to the steel knuckle from the MK6 platform, in order to mount the 18z calipers. Once the caliper is mounted everything thing else should fit the same.

    Any differences between installing brembo 17Z on a mk6?

      Looking it up, they should be near identical with no feelable difference. There is a technical difference, but nobody seems to notice it in driving.
