Did you know that outside of beta cities and cancelled GTA games there are THREE cities that Rockstar Games have deleted from Grand Theft Auto!? The first being Ghost Town from GTA III. While this city is still in GTA 3 it was deleted from the main part and removed to an out of bounds area outside of Liberty City. Then in GTA Vice City the Gator Keys were removed or never made it into the game. This area would have been based on the real life Florida Keys. And lastly in GTA IV the original map would have featured all of Liberty State. Consisting of the Carraways and Upstate Liberty. A GTA 4 beta map/early concept was recently discovered and it details just how big this map would have been but Rockstar ultimately sacrificed this to focus more on the amazing gameplay of GTA IV. I also can't forget to mention Mexico in Red Dead Redemption 2 as Rockstar completely cut out that part of the map in the sequel to RDR1. However, assets mentioning Mexico have been found in the games files by data miners.

When GTA IV came out, I was amazed at how realistic some of the sites were. I live in Brooklyn and the game literally has our central library and grand army plaza, which I go to every week. It’s creepy but so cool
I want them to bring liberty city back and like you said liberty state
Hopefully in the next 50 years when gta 7 is released since we pretty much know gta 6 is going to be in Vice city

I’m a New Yorker. Knowing that we could’ve had a mega map of the whole New York State kills me.
I didn't know this at all. I always found gta 4 lacking. I grew up in NYC, lived in Puerto Rico briefly, but NYC for most of my life, and gta 4 felt boring because of it. I wanted more. And it looks like they DID have more. I only been upstate a couple of times...so to see it in a game would of been so dope. I barely even noticed newark nj was in the game, it was too similar to the rest. It needed variation
@@chillvibed Yeah, I live in NYC and would've much rather have a game focused on the entirety of NYS rather than 4 boroughs and New Jersey. There's a lot of great scenery upstate that would've made the game look so much better.
Well don't forget, this was around the time when 9/11 was still a huge issue for the general public. So adding in planes on the game, regardless if the map was bigger; such as adding in more of the open landscape of upper New york, would've still cause issues. Since im sure players will typically joke of crashing planes into the city.
yeah i agree, 4’s lack of a countryside felt off honestly. that’s why i love that 5 had a focus on it outside of LS (though more smaller towns like SA had would have been nice). i get that 4 is concentrated on the “urban jungle” aspect, but to balance it out with a rural region would have made for some cool ideas

I’ve been drawing concept maps for Liberty City since 2008. All of the things R* left out. I’m from New York so it’s easy for me to find things that were missing. Staten Island should’ve been in the game, Long Island, Upstate and the Capital for sure, the Catskills etc. even more of Jersey. But even with all of that missing, it’s still the greatest GTA game ever.
Buffalo would have been lit--make those smuggling runs over the bridge

Maybe Ghost Town is part of Carcer City, considering that it's being said both in GTA 3 and 4 that the city is nearby LC
Rockstar’ve said that it is in Liberty City, which doesn’t make sense, but I can find proof on their website, and if it was, we could see this place in Manhunt.
Carcer City should be modeled from Boston. It makes perfect sense.

The Gator Keys could have been removed from VC because it could mean Rockstar would have to implement Wild Life into the game.

Liberty State woulda made sense …lot of gangsters when they got money either moved to jersey or upstate…also the “sixth” borough of Newburgh would have provided lots of crime and crazy stuff
The first one is neither a city, nor removed. It's nothing more than a street and it's just inaccesible, but still in the game. But still, why couldn't they have just put it into the actual city, I don't understand. It's just a street with a bank.

That highway in GTAIV looks a lot like I-84 or I-90 in Upstate NY. I live in Buffalo and I drive down to Long Island to visit family a few times a year, that's the way you take.
Ok some corrections,
1. That's just a part of liberty city (NYC) designed for that specific cutscene. Not a whole new city.
2. It's just another island, not a new city. Would of been dope asf tho
3. Not another city. Just upstate and small towns. Still would of been cool.

They need to make a GTA with Vice, Liberty, and San Andreas in the same game. Use cloud servers for 2 of the 3 cities. THAT would be incredible and I would never need another game to play again!

Love the videos ZACCOX tv yeah I always wondered what GTA 4’s upper liberty state map would be and then I watched map mods of it from other pc gamers and I’m like whoa this is massive for GTA 4 and can understand it like I had to understand why Rockstar didn’t add San fierro and Las Ventura’s in GTA V’s map years after I’ve played it for ps3 and PS4 and I hope at least there will be something for GTA VI’s map being the whole east coast with RDR2 references to saint denes. The map boundaries for Liberty State are still in The Balad of Gay Tony and The Lost and Damned, I tried going far out, I spent 28 to 30 minutes going west until I started taking damage

In the turismo mission the guy on the phone says “I see your new in liberty city.” Meaning ghost town took place in another city
