LOL my friend showed me the southpark Snooki episode and for some reason it took me a half hour to remember that this song says SNOOKI WANT SMOOSH SMOOSH at the end of it and that it was clearly a reference to south park LMFAO I always thought it was annoying and connected to all the remixes on the album. I had no idea this whole time it was something hilarious
I looked for this band because Petrucci mentioned he was into their sound and damn... They're frickin' killers, i love that merge of electronic music with intricate melodies and the really heavy stuff, i like all those genres and that kind of experimentalism so in the end i just loved this band.
drummer lane! can you tell me what happens with the symbols at 4:36? why do those hits seem to counterpoint the snare? he is not playing half time is he?
alex nordlund He's not doing anything with the snare. He's displacing the crash by using quarter note triplets and then keeping the snare with the pattern of eighth note triplets. Really cool polyrhythm!! Hope this helps
Jack Heet ya... after i wrote my comment I realized the snare did not change it's place in the meter. I just thought that it did at first, because it did'int line up with the crash hits. It's amazing how a simple change like that can add sooooo much groove. Songs like these make me want to learn drums. Thanks for explaining it to me man!!!
Every time I think about this song, the intro to Before I Forget by SlipKnot goes through my head and I have to(in thought) drop the pitch to get it right XD
Legions are sent from the negative elite sucking life from the world we live shading the knowledge of oneness and feeding the shadow within the abyss. Awesome lyrics
@ThisIsNotVincent Eureka was an anime? I thought it was a ScyFy TV show (love that show!). Or am I missing something here? This song is awesome, btw. \m/ >__< \m/
So, they have a reference to a South Park episode, which is a about Jersey Shore, even though the song is named Eureka, which is a show on the Sci-Fi network. Makes sense.
@tetrico22 I have a feeling it is, considering Frak the Gods is a reference to Battlestar Galactica, and on the same network (Sci-Fi) there's another show called Eureka so... :P
Fuck off, how can length possibly be considered bad? There's so much amazing stuff in that song that you couldn't possibly cram into 5 minutes. It makes it a complete epic; a journey!
you love eureka 7 and death note? its like your a magical guitar angel that just keeps getting cooler. is there any truth that there is a connection between the song light and light yagami from death note?
4:55 i really hate that they put that trashy snooki shit there i like the way that guitar sounds is there a program i can use to take out that shit audio and extend the guitar riff
Interesting opinion. Not sure how I'm a "keyboard warrior" though, there is no fighting or anything going on. I just love it when people bring up OLD comments lol.
@LordLavos99z Actually, i was watching Eureka 7 when i wrote this. Totally named after the anime haha.
heh... look up "Eureka Seven Satire was not a one-shot at first. Will not abridge again."
Then "periphery - seven lights" for that matter.
I like this song. Smoosh smoosh

0:49 i love that bit when the heavy guitar kicks in, the mix of the beautiful harmony and the heavy guitar is genius
I looked for this band because Petrucci mentioned he was into their sound and damn... They're frickin' killers, i love that merge of electronic music with intricate melodies and the really heavy stuff, i like all those genres and that kind of experimentalism so in the end i just loved this band.
It's always fun to discover new awesome music!
jake bowen of periphery is petruccis nephew
No wonder those are 2 of my favourite bands. The petrucci gene must have something my ears find pleasing.
This is one of the sickest grooves they've ever done. It's such a simple riff but it slaps.
One of the best drum riffs to this day, and I remember hearing saying that when it was released🫡👀⚔️
Favorite Periphery track, no question. The Walk takes a close second.
I smoosh smooshed the like button so hard.
lol Idk why but the open notes on the snooki part just makes it funnier haha
3:56 is the best drop I have ever heard in my entire life.
Same. Some of that stuff is insane. Frak the gods, this, new groove and captain on ftw
First Periphery song I ever heard. I haven't turned back since.
It's 2022 and Snooki want smoosh smoosh
You’re goddamn right
This is the version I've been looking for. And thanks to me coming here, I now know what the end of the song is about. :D
@Periphery That's... like the greatest thing ever.
3:32 and onward is so dark and evil. Love it!
Yeah especially at 4:50 (;
drummer lane! can you tell me what happens with the symbols at 4:36? why do those hits seem to counterpoint the snare? he is not playing half time is he?

alex nordlund No problem man!! Glad I could help!!
This song is so meshuggah, with that type of vocals at the beginning.
Exactly :D
love that intro guitar, so good.
Suddenly... official Periphery out of nowhere.
I thought this song was about "Getting it!" until you revealed this to me.
"all this time to call the things they did a lie"...☹️
Every time I think about this song, the intro to Before I Forget by SlipKnot goes through my head and I have to(in thought) drop the pitch to get it right XD
I came at the clean part at 0:42
Anyone else think that 2:24 onwards is just SO DAMN AWESOME?
Fucking love Spencer's screams. That vocal tone, So unique.
0:12 is fuckin nasty - I love it
Periphery 2 came out, still listening to the Icarus EP. Periphery FTW
Gey Seaman Periphery 4 came out. Still....

I know! WTF?!
Its back now!
Eureka is not on it, it is only some special edition of the p1
Weird. Idk if Spotify modifies things by country or not but im in the US and its still there for me.
It's always been there for me in the UK!

@ThisIsNotVincent Eureka was an anime? I thought it was a ScyFy TV show (love that show!). Or am I missing something here?

ITS BETTER THAN THE RAGTIME DANDIES OUTRO

@MalignantNarcissism2 It was probably the album version ( I believe it was a bonus track for preordering or something)
Still killing.
SNOOKI WANT SNOOSH SNOOSH
Indeed, and I got to find out some of them watch anime. Double win. :D
@SvenNysvenn4 No way!? That part is beautiful
@Periphery Oh nice. I didn't realize. Cool song though!
you love eureka 7 and death note? its like your a magical guitar angel that just keeps getting cooler. is there any truth that there is a connection between the song light and light yagami from death note?
Still fuckin' love this song.
More music like All New Materials GOGOGO! Ill take anything but clean guitar ftw :)
Ow My Feelings is mine
JESUS FUCK I DID NOT EXPECT THAT ENDING
on the record
If Meshuggah had a son it's name would be Periphery.
Dude you are fucking amazing !
I hear some Meshugga :o
am i the only one saying buttersnips is god?
Actually it's named after an anime called Eureka 7.
I listen to this song when I absolutely must get shit done.
+calves92 I'd say it's moreso for the fact that the image for this on soundclick is a character from Eureka 7..
You guys are too fucking awesome. Yeahh anime. :)
Surely it's no different than having 3 tracks that are all 5 minutes long and continue on from each other?
That chord at 1:58 tho👍👍
Scott Bowers just realized it. HOLY FAK
+Trishul Vikram realized what now?
1:58
eureka 7??? renton and those guys??

the part at 0.22 reminds me sikth bland street bloom
Hahahahahha is that ending from South Park?? lmao
Haha yes exactly!
@soldier7200 It's a reference to a South Park episode.
@ainsleywalker I agree but I still like the one from Bulb's Soundclick more. But wth I have both versions!
3:16
is that a SPLASH? on MATT HALPERN"S DRUMSET?
I was worried you might have just started one...

SNEW SNEW SNEWwww
Why is there a South Park joke in here randomly lol
2011 was a weird time

The ending isnt stupid to me. I die everytime.
@ainsleywalker Yes

For those who dig this jam, and who don’t know Born of Osiris, check them out trust me
ragekage209 Your mom makes sense....
4:55 i really hate that they put that trashy snooki shit there i like the way that guitar sounds is there a program i can use to take out that shit audio and extend the guitar riff
kcgfdhtjfyt5je6j cubase and audacity
Steinberg have some products that can isolate pretty well sounds by manipulating spectral components, quite impressive; not really so new already.
You wrong for that
Interesting opinion. Not sure how I'm a "keyboard warrior" though, there is no fighting or anything going on. I just love it when people bring up OLD comments lol.
Win for anime nerds
@gotdjerking shit nevermind i think it is southpark
psst. i do.
Is it just me or does this sound like an earlier, shorter draft of Omega?
some parts feel similar, but none of the riffs are actually the same, so I'd disagree
I feel like that’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard, austin. You should be ashamed of yourself.
Game cube
WTF happened at 00:35? Sounds like Owl City.
Yo owl city and periphery tour when?
1:45
I remember hearing this song way back when Tom did the vocals...
Alex Patten Is there a version of this song with Tom's vocals on it???
