I think there is a law in the United States about spreading misinformation. The thing is, this mostly applies to big corporations. Because of freedom of speech, people are allowed to say anything they want as long as it's not hate speech or threats. Something like that isn't big enough of a deal to get the law involved.
However, if the person saying that is a highly creditable doctor or news station, then the government may involve itself for the spreading of misinformation.

I live with my family, and all of the adults are overweight except me. We all have access to the same food and have the chance to do many of the same things. But, perspective and determination to be better go a long way. I won't eat the junk that we have all around us, I might have some, but it's in moderation. I walk to work when I can, and I'll walk my siblings to school, too. I don't want to look in the mirror and hate myself like my mom and older sister do. I might not be where I want to be, but every step I take is a step closer to where I want to be.

I have two hormonal disorders including a thyroid disease called Hashimoto’s, it’s very difficult to lose weight with these but I still have been. Eating less, walking more, lowering my carb intake. That’s it. I still have a long way to go but I won’t give up. These people have no will power except to make excuses. Enough already they need to get off their lazy arses and stop trying to get the world to bend to their bs.

Keep up the good work man! If you ever get into calsithenics/weight training, keep your body physically warm before hand, do some light cardio (100 jumping jacks, or walking for 5-10 mins), then stretch, and ONLY then start excercise under load. Doing so will greatly decrease your risk of muscle tears/joint injuries, and will also improve your mobility.

It's embarrassing to start on ground zero when you see people lifting impressive amounts, but people in the gym don't care, they all have been on that level. When I went to the gym and knew nothing about working out, I was trying to do some exercises and maybe I was trying heavier weights than I should have. A very big dude, who had clearly been there for years came up to me and kindly suggested using a lighter weight as he saw the heavier one was affecting my form and in turn affecting how effective the exercise was, he gave me tips on how to do it correctly and assured there's no shame in being a beginner cause everyone once was.
Most people in the gym are sweet, especially people who've been going for a long time, it's these influencers on tiktok that give the impression that everyone is looking at you and judging you.

Competitive swimmers often start as children, before it's even apparent if their adult build will be conducive to swimming. People dont go to the gym to judge others or compare themselves to others, people go gym because gym best and self improvement. Sometimes you see people making fun of others in the gym but theyre just bad people in general who do that everywhere. You'd be surprised, 7 minutes of ab workouts a day, that's 2555 minutes or 42 hours and 35 minutes of exercise in one year.
It's a minimal investment of time and the gains will likely also be minimal but the idea isn't "do 7 minutes of exercise a day and look like a god".
The idea is "who doesn't have 7 minutes in a day to look after their own health?" Exercise is a part of upkeep on your body, it's the same thing with hygiene.
If you have exceptional hygiene you are not guaranteed to have a healthy life but if you have terrible hygiene you're quality of life will be lower, across the board.
I will agree the guy in the video, the Asian man, he's really over the top, not everyone will be able to look like that.
But just because you aren't going to look the best in the world, or be the strongest or fittest in the world.
However just because you're not #1 in the world doesn't mean it's not worth the effort to make your own life a bit better.

It's one thing to basically not care and ignore your health. It's an entirely different level of weird to go on social media and try to campaign against the idea of being healthy.

Your daily actions, determine your health. Only 5% of disease is genetic. Systems biology and epigenetics reveals that we can influence our genetic expression. Just bc you have a genetic marker for disease does not mean that disease will be expressed. You can influence your epigenetics through diet, exercise and even your thoughts and words. You are constantly sending messages to your body that signal what it is. Just as he said beliefs are powerful, yes, your body will respond to your belief system. Health is wealth. Take care of yourself and constantly strive to overcome obstacles and have determination and perseverance and you can achieve your health goals.

    Bruh. BRUHHH-
So you're saying- that the 40 ish pounds I lost weren't in my control?
Y'all are saying that the weight I dropped because I wanted to get good at a sport I like- Wasn't my choice?

I know I'm a year late. But the the weight not being under our control. That only happens if you're taking some type of medicine that will make you gain weight no matter what you do. Unless you don't have self control it definitely isn't in their control for that. But most people do have control over their weight

When they were talking about squats I was a little confused, a squat with 25 lb plates quite easily, but that's cuz my legs have always been like weird and a big, weird runner genetics from my grandfather and stuff, but empty squats, they're not that bad I could do a million, or at least 50.
