    Cellulite is actually very common in women it's just dimples around the thighs and butt and can be caused by wearing tight clothing down there causing low blood circulation and from hormones since fat tissue construction for women is different from men, but it really effects everyone no matter the size (saying this as a slim woman)

    For the size situation, it can be frustrating for a lot of fat women and even women that aren't even fat but aren't a size like 8 to find clothes. I worked at a dress shop and there was barely any options for bigger sizes. And the options they did have were really ugly. I didn't even wanna sell most of them. The problem is a lot of the time clothing brands are so focused on smaller sizes but fail to realize that not everyone's a size 2. Obviously if someone's morbidly obese then it's understandable when they can't find decent clothes in their size, but it's often just that clothing brands are a lot more geared towards slimmer women like me. And it's not even just for dresses. Just about every store I go into has a lot of cute stuff for smaller girls but literally no real selection for larger sizes.

  • @bredprices1339
    @bredprices1339 2 ปีที่แล้ว +20

    a lot of plus sized people have been saying they can't find the right sizing but nowadays whenever I go clothes shopping irl nothing ever fits because all the petite/non-plus sized clothing is sold out or only has a few things left and there are so many articles of plus sized clothing left untouched. i understand not wanting to feel left out but stores could cater more to the majority of people and add more non-plus sized clothing sizes.

  • @olyavmusic
    @olyavmusic 2 ปีที่แล้ว +39

    as an ex fat person I get why they get hurt by the other sizing thing, but I always knew it was my own fault. if I was that upset by seeing a M or S, It was because I wanted to be that but felt like I couldn't. It was my own fault I couldn't though to an extent. It wasn't the person who put it there's job to make me feel better about my decisions. I think that is the issue with some people in this movement. They make other people take accountability for their feelings.

    • @BigMoneyBigWinner
      @BigMoneyBigWinner ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can relate to what you're saying, I am also ex fat. I don't agree that is you your 'fault', rather you did not know how to make the changes that were necessary in order to be healthy due to other underlying issues. You may have known the simple facts "I need to exercise, I need to eat less, I need to eat healthy", but you did not know how to pursue the mental changes that are first required for making healthy changes. Over eating is a result of other underlying issues, many people don't know how to change internally, or it may take a long time to overcome depression or anxiety enough to pursue a healthy change. It is not your fault, it's your responsibility and I think making that differentiation in your mind is important.

    • @olyavmusic
      @olyavmusic ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BigMoneyBigWinner this is totally fair but even after knowing it was hard for me and often deciding to go with what I “wanted” rather than what I “should” do was the issue. I think what the “stop using ‘fat’ in a negative way” meant was that when skinny people say “oh no, I’m getting fat!!” And make it seem like a really horrible thing, that makes fat people think that they are ugly and that their body is ugly, which is a crappy thing to do to someone. And by the way, before someone replies with something dumb, believe it or not, bullying people about their fatness does not inspire them to become skinny, and often times they actually gain more weight.

    Cellulite can be on any woman and is on most women, fat or skinny. I have always had genetically big thighs, but a thin body. I still have cellulite.
    While I do understand it’s rare that fatness comes from a condition, there are medications like certain anti-depressants that can make you gain weight. I was in the hospital, they gave me steroids. It made me gain weight. Not to an obese level, but the point still stands.
    Conditions like hypothyroidism and poor metabolism can also cause weight gain. It’s necessary that we exercise an restrict certain diets, to keep our bodies functioning an balanced.
    Eating disorders on either end are not to be glamorized. They can kill you.

    I wouldnt consider my self "fat" but i am larger than other girls my age, and that includes my breasts, and i cant really control the fact that big breasts run in my family. So i understand not being able to find bras your size in stores. I understand not every store will carry bras your size, but its the fact that very very little of them do, and that often when we do find ones that kinda fit, they are very unconfirtable, and unflattering is annoying. And i feel knowing the difference between fat and obese is important. Because there can be people with big breats, and big theighs/butts and naturally a bigger tummy that eat healthy and work out, but its hard to loose weight due to genetics. And being obese is to the point where your life expectancy is decreasing and you are unable to do basic tasks.
    Also the fact that we are naturally going to gain and loose weight in our life times is true. It is nearly impossible to remain the same weight our whole lives, especially since as we go through puberty we gain weight, and in cases like pregancy we gain and loose weight.

    Referring to the woman who said she didn’t need a diet, she needed a therapist… that’s actually a really good idea for most people.
    My eating disorder is in fact a trauma response. If you’re still holding on to all the bad stuff that has happened in your life and you still haven’t found a healthy coping mechanism, therapy is the way to go. THEN you can start focusing on a diet that you will actually stick to because you don’t want to continue those unhealthy behaviors.
    A lot of people are in denial about their eating habits so therapy is a great place to address that.

      I feel that all eating disorders are trauma responses and I agree that therapy is often an important first step in helping a person identify why they have an eating disorder in the first place. It can help prevent the issue of relapse, whereas 'cold turkey' diving into diet and exercise may be effective but without the deeper understanding will often fall away and lead to relapsed behaviour. All eating disorders are a a form of addiction and should be treated similarly.

    Cellulite is a common skin condition that affects everyone. However, women who have gone through puberty are far more likely to develop cellulite. Despite how common it is, you may not like how cellulite looks on your body. Talk to your healthcare provider about how you can reduce the appearance of cellulite.
    Weight gain can make cellulite more noticeable, but some lean people have cellulite, as well. It tends to run in families, so genetics might play the biggest role in whether you develop cellulite. An inactive lifestyle also can increase your chances of having cellulite, as can pregnancy.
    Does losing fat improve cellulite?
    Losing weight and strengthening the muscles in the legs, buttocks and abdomen may make cellulite less noticeable in those areas, but it won't go away altogether. That is because once a fat cell develops, it is yours for life.
    yep id say im skinny and i still have cellulite , around my upper thighs, its usually only visible if i like take my skin and kind of bunch it up, idk how to explain it but hope this helps!

And this isn’t something that happens every once and awhile, so often a random woman or a random group or women will comment on my weight and body in general, and it’s usually not other thin women doing it. I just find it hypocritical that my body size is allowed to be discussed in public, around other people, by random people because I’m not fat, it’s awkward and just disrespectful imo🤷🏻‍♀️

It's definitely a HUGE difference n tbh I didn't even have to do much to lose the weight. I kinda just started working more hrs, eating less (not necessarily changed wht I ate, just how much), n started drinking mostly just water n cut down my soda intake. Doing tht i lost 80 lbs in a yr. My husband does have a thyroid disorder so it is extremely hard for him to lose weight, but he even lost like 15 lbs recently. I understand that things prohibit people from losing weight as much as the average person, but tbh thts no excuse to not even try to do little things to at least help. Tbh, no, becoming obese IS a moral failing. Subjecting yourself to any preventable health issue is a moral failing. It puts undue stress on the medical system and staff (I've heard stories from a lot of nurses and such who've literally developed back problems because of dealing with obese patience), on your loved ones (they might have to take care of you, and of course see you suffer/possibly die early), it reduces your capacity to do things for others... It's a lot like smoking, alcoholism, or drug addiction. Sure maybe not quite as intense as those but they're the same sort of principal.
    That being said, if you work to correct the situation, then that's what's important. Past mistakes don't have to define who you are. It's a completely forgivable moral failing in the VAST majority of cases, and usually has an understandable reason. No one's perfect, and that's okay. But what matters is trying to get better going forward, even if it's slow progress, or you have relapses into old habits, so long as you're genuinely trying.

    Broo the therapy comment... Honestly I think that most people that are overweight have some type of unhealthy relationship with food. This can come from past trauma, depression, emocional binging... And these problems need to be solved in order to improve your physical health, otherwise weightloss is pretty mentally draining. So I would say it's not a bad idea to go to a therapist in order to go to the root of the problem. For me it would be optimal to do therapy and nutrition and exercise simultaneously even though it might not always be possible. But yeah, taking care of your mental health can improve your physical health and the other way around.
