Kuryakyn Floorboard Relocation Extension Brackets On A 2016 Harley Davidson Street Glide Special

  • What’s up everybody. In todays video, I will be installing another product to my 2016 Street Glide Special to help create more leg room for taller riders. Most touring motorcycles are not set up for tall riders from the factory so we have to rely on aftermarket parts.
    I will be installing the Kuryakyn floorboard relocation brackets which moves the floorboards out roughly 1” and forward roughly 1”. The install was easy and they do exactly what they say. When paired up with a Kuryakyn extended brake and shift lever, tall riders can expect noticeable leg room.

      @@DieselLegiance I Was Gonna Go With The "Soft Brake Company" Extended Brake Lever; But Heard Bad Reviews... Gotta Go With The Kuryakyn . I'm 6' 5" And I Really Appreciate Your Review On That Bad Boy Extended Reach Freedom Seat As Well As The Other Tall Rider Mods... Your Street Glide Looks Nice... Not Over The Top Like I See A Lot Of Guys Doing... 30" Front Wheels, Wild/Crazy Colors Etc.... Their Preference I Guess😬 That Mat Grey And Chrome Is Nice.

      Yeah I like to make my bikes tasteful. I sold the street glide and did a road king build and just sold that. Thinking this summer of getting a used road glide to work on.

    Matt, Thank you very much, I just ordered this kit and you made it look like even I could do this job. Thank you for step by step instructions.

      These were great brackets. I really liked them. I recently just filmed a new bracket that actually drops the floorboards 2” which is awesome. I’m tall so I really needed to lower my boards. I’ll be posting the video asap.

    Would this work if you reversed them to make them closer?

    Nice video...I just put my floor board relocation kit on today, nice product, but I thought the instructions were not that clear, and the black and white pictures were very lacking to see..

    Would this work if you installed them backwards to make it closer than farther?

    Great share... would these work on the 24 RG"s?

    • @DieselLegiance
      @DieselLegiance  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      They should, but I’d double check with Kuryakyn to be sure as I don’t know if anything has majorly changed for “24”

    Will these things help with lean angle for lowered bikes? I have a habit of scraping my boards from leaning my bike a little far over.

    • @DieselLegiance
      @DieselLegiance  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      They actually push your boards forward slightly and out slightly so you may still scrape. But at least your foot position and comfort may improve while scraping 👊🏼

    the brackets seem like a very loose fit even with the washers, did you have any rattling from them when the bike is running?

    • @DieselLegiance
      @DieselLegiance  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, I tightened everything up and they were only loose enough to allow the floorboards to flip up and down but I’ve ridden it multiple times with no issues or rattle. I love them.

    Does anyone know if these work with the Harley davidson Empire collection floorboards ? I'm trying to install these and I'm having trouble?

      @DieselLegiance I don't think they do I tried for a while to figure it out lol. IT'S a shame they looked nicely made was hoping they would. I guess I will have to settle for the spacers/extenders hopefully I will be able to find them in chrome

    • @DieselLegiance
      @DieselLegiance  ปีที่แล้ว

      I never seen the Empire floorboards in person but if the brackets are a different layout compared to stock, I can see they won’t fit.

    why would you put locktite on lock nuts? just asking.

    • @DieselLegiance
      @DieselLegiance  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You don’t have to when using lock washers, I just use the blue lock tite for extra precaution due to the vibration a Harley gives off. The last thing I want is to have a nut go loose and fall off when out riding.

    • @DieselLegiance
      @DieselLegiance  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, I did try the HD tall boy seat. There were two options. If you read the details there is a 1.5” and 2” option for legroom. I went with the 2” and really liked it.
