  • What’s up everybody. In todays video, I will be Installing the all new Tall Boys Cycles floorboard relocation brackets on my 2016 Harley Davidson Street Glide Special. These brackets are a game changer for taller riders as they shift the floorboard forward 2”, shift the floorboard away from the bike 1/2”, and best of all, shift the floorboard down 2” for maximum leg room.
    I have tried multiple brackets including the Kuryakyn floorboard relocation brackets but none of these other brackets lower the floorboard. The Tall Boys Cycles brackets offer maximum leg room while placing your knee level and/or lower than your hip to allow better blood flow and less tingling.

      Hey Art I have a 2019 SGS and wanted to know what you put them on and after having them on are you able to lean in the curbs?

    • @DieselLegiance
      @DieselLegiance  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can still lean into a turn but if you lean a little too far you will scrape your floorboards. Think of it this way, you can scrape your boards without them if you lean too far, these relocation brackets just makes it a little easier to scrape. In my opinion, I’d rather be more careful leaning in curves and have more leg room.

I’m looking forward to my feet being lower and forward. I’m ordering an extended break and shifter lever from Softbreak today. Tallboy Cycles said Soft break works well with his relocation kit.

    One of the first things I noticed when I got my SG that my feet felt tucked into the bike too much, they just feel narrow for my boot. Being 6’1, 33” inseam, do you think these would benefit me? Wondering if I should just start with the spacers to pull the floorboards away from the bike first. Haven’t ridden it enough for a fair assessment but my hip did cramp after awhile the second time. Great video. I’m a yinzer as well.

    • @DieselLegiance
      @DieselLegiance  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Kuryakyn makes good spacers as I tried them and they did help. However, I needed my feet lower to lever my legs more so my knee was not higher than my hip. If you want max legroom the tall boys cycles floorboard brackets are the way to go.

I currently ride a 2014 Fatboy Lo with 14" Carlini apes, Corbin Solo seat and those Kuryakyn brackets he swapped out in the video.... it is just enough to make my Fatboy work for me. I have been wanting a Road Glide so went in today and that bike is cramped for guys our size! The Street Glide is the same frame but the fairing is even closer than the Road Glide. Your video is nicely done and very informative. I have an 06 Roadking Classic and I just ordered my Mustang Daddy long legs seat ( some $600 plus). I saw the first option for tall riders is handle bars, but the seat IMHO has to be first. I am 6' 3" and have stock HB for that year ( It's a Road King Classic you see. One of the best motorcycles ever produced). Not to brag, so I went for the Le pera Maverick seat for tall riders. Not many videos are out helping tall riders with the preferred steps in fitting in. The first videos mention how the first thing a rider has to change is the handlebars. I disagree.. Now, when you start messing with the center of gravity, we would focus on the seat. Your video is promoting an expense option to others who are not budget minded and it seems a bit discriminatory since you are recommending a product that many can not afford. Are there options to spending less than over $200 dollars you suggest to those taller riders who are less fortunate?

    • @DieselLegiance
      @DieselLegiance  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      First, thank you for the thoughts, I do appreciate them. However, many know that custom Harley parts are not cheap. I try to upgrade my bikes as affordable as I can and rarely use genuine Harley parts due to cost. I am 6’3” and I’ve found that what works best for me is to install floorboard relocation brackets, then install an extended seat, then handlebars. As of now, there are no cheaper options for floorboard relocation brackets that are as good as the tall boys cycles. A good extended seat will run $400-700. If your a tall rider on a strict budget your better off with a Harley Wide Glide as touring bikes are not set up for tall riders. My videos are just a suggestion to help others. I wish I could find even cheaper alternatives but some parts there is no cheaper option. Ride safe 🙏

      I hear ya, I would normally agree, but I was out on a long trip one day with my wife and pulled a cramp so bad in my leg that I couldn’t even drive home for an hour or two. At that point, I knew I needed to do something. I think it all depends on how tall you are and how bad your legs are lifted up high, putting pressure on your hip.

      @@DieselLegiance yeah, I’ve had several cramps, I’m 6’2” & long legs & I pulled over too for about 10 minutes, I keep looking at the Kuryakyn ones & came across these, dam! $220! Ouch! Thanks bro!

      The Kuryakyn ones do work good by moving the floor boards forward and out but they don’t lower them. I had them before I switched to the TBC brackets.

      Its worth it. You’d be amazed how your bike will transform to feeling like it was made specifically for you. $220 is nothing compared to the price that you spent for your Harley.

      @@71cfree Are they that good, that’s expensive though? $220!! there’s gotta be another company making same similar brackets for $100 less,, gotta be! Thank you for sharing your thoughts for sure.

    Any chance these work on a heritage?

      Not sure, I’d suggest contacting the company direct to confirm.

      16” Handlebars and my seat is a Bad Boyz Cycles extended freedom series seat. Use my code “HARM5” for 5% off the seat if interested.

    Did you tell everyone you had to buy a 2" extended brake lever in order for this to work. That alone cost another $200 dollars

    • @DieselLegiance
      @DieselLegiance  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, I did mention I bought one for myself, but, if you have smaller feet you don’t need it. And an extended brake lever is usually around $100 or less from Kuryakyn. But hey, if you’re tall and can afford a Harley, what’s an extra $100 to fit the bike comfortably?

    Did you know that instead of actually touching the “accept” button on the screen, you can just press press the right side handlebar joystick?

      @@DieselLegianceI appreciate this video. I have the brain of a six year old so it was effective for me to comprehend. Thanks 🙏🏻 I’ve always wondered about a company that may lowered them. I have a 2” raised front end and 14” rear. I am 6.1 and hope that 2” forward isn’t too much for me.
