  • I found a vintage Delta Milwaukee drill made in the 1950's, also called the DP-220 by the number on the cast iron head. I decided to restore and leave it as new. I believe you like the content so subscribe to the channel and activate the notification bell to receive all our content.

    Glad I watched the video so I could see what what kind of shaft it had for the drill chuck. My drill press is about the same age and still has the original chuck on it. I wasn't sure If it had a tapered shaft or threaded shaft. I tried to take it off to replace it one time but I gave up before I damaged the chuck. Maybe a little heat and a wedge of some kind will get it to break loose from the taper.

      Hello! Good that it helped. Two wedges, one on each side, make it much more practical to remove.

    Not a bad restoration matey, at first i thought the colour was going to be bad. But it turned out great, you made it your own. Personally i would have sanded the main body and head piece, plus taken out couple of cast marks . But still a great looking piece matey. 👌

    Boa tarde, meu caro. Parabéns pela restauração. Ficou linda.
    Caso possa me ajudar com alguma informação, agradeço.

    Where can you get parts to replace old parts?

  • @robertchambers4466

    Really awesome job like the way it turned out. One thing I'd like to know. Not sure of what was the last thing. You dipped all the parts in to make them come out shiny after you sanded them with the wall. I was just curious. I restored my floor model and cleaned up the pieces of the best I could and got them pretty shiny but not near as close as what you've done. I would take mine back apart and do that for sure. Again, really awesome job!

    • @fabriciusmetalwood

      Hello! Thanks for the compliment. The process I used to leave the pieces shiny and protected was GALVONIZING. The process requires a certain amount of care, as it handles many chemicals.
