      Hi I'm picking one like that up in a few weeks. Is it easy to take the door off for transportation.its about 100 years old hinges are similar to this one ! Thanks

    • @kellymeier579
      @kellymeier579 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@richardshackleton5681 Depending on the condition of the safe, dust rust etc., the door should lift up and off the hinges. I've had to use a pry bar or jack to get it started, but it should come off. It will be bulky, awkward and heavy so bring help. This will lighten up the body of the safe making it easier to move. Good luck 👍

      Do you speak German? Because I (a German native) think that "Meine Mechaniker" is not the intended translation for "My Mechanics". It is technically correct but a "Mechaniker" is a person who repairs and maintains technical stuff, usually machines. The plural of "Mechaniker" is "Mechaniker" as well. So, "Meine Mechaniker" means something like "My persons who repair things". How many persons are involved here? I think that he actually wanted to have "Meine Mechanik", where "Mechanik" denotes some kind of machinery.

    This has everything you would want from a restoration video, single point thread cutting, sandblasting, cold bluing, hand filing, a child's hand to apply Bondo with a obscenely small spatula. All the other restoration channels need to up their game.

      Its not that hard to do paint wise this guy here is a pro and its not that big a safe. This is how the big ones are redone .. . Spray on automotive paint stripper aka " aircraft remover "and a stainless dish scrubber will make quick work of the old paint. Now repaint it completely outside w black traditionally. I prefer black engine crinkle paint myself .. but whatever you want. . And then paint an acrylic scene landscape usually on the front of the safe and gold line around it. You can use automotive edge strip if youd prefer ... Then clear varnish the entire safe an extra coat on the front.

    Только довольно странное решение сделать сейфу колёса, по-видимому чтобы грабителям было легче и быстрее его увезти чем вскрыть.
    Great job👍👍
    Only a rather strange decision to make wheels for the safe, apparently to make it easier and faster for the robbers to take it away than to open it.

    Unreal. Nothing I can say has not already been said a thousand times.
    That said, it would be interesting to see a birds-eye time-lapsed view of the sheer amount of time and labor and motion that goes into one of these projects. Fantastic work, in any case.
    People can do amazing things when they put time and care and effort into their passions.
