- This is a review of the MSI RTX 3080 Suprim X 10G, a beast of a graphics card which I've been testing in place of the RTX 2080Ti that I was using before. This GPU has a number of interesting highlights to it that include a fantastic brushed aluminium backplate, anti-sag support bracket, a mounting rod for extra support and a clever cooling system.

Highlights of this GPU include a clever TRI FROZR 2S Thermal Design which combines both precision-machined heat pipes and intelligently designed TORX Fans to force the air in the right direction and keep things cool. This is also awesome because the card also has a zero RPM fan mode where the fans won't spin if they're not needed, which means your system can run really quietly and efficiently.
There's also a dual-bios system built into the card which has "silent" and "gaming" modes. You can change between these with a flip of a switch on the card itself. But even on gaming mode it runs quitely when needed.
I also really like the styling of the backplate and the fact you can see the workings of the thing. The etched dragon logo also has RGB lighting which makes it shine nicely while you game. Meanwhile there's RGB lighting around the fans and the side of the card too, so if you vertically mount it you get to see more of that.

While RTX 3080s are extremely scarce and rare, this specific card is ever rarer.
The albino unicorn of GPUs
Warning for you. I had the asus rog 1080 so no where near as big, it also had very little sag on day one, 12 months later the sag became so much worse so i decided to get a GPU support like the one you have but the moment i tried to lift the card to get it level and put the support underneath the GPU would hit max temps instantly.
After some trouble shooting i found out that because i never put a support under it from day one the metal back plate had actually bent due to the sag so when i would try to straighten the card it was lifting the cooling off the gpu processor.
So my take away is PLEASE put a GPU braket to hold ylur card because if the 1080 strix can do this then the new 30 series will most definitely be the same or even worse.

After selling my PS5 last year I swore someday I'd get a PC. Well some fortune came my way and bought the Suprim X. Will be building the PC in next couple of weeks. Can't wait.....

I picked up the MSI RTX 3080 SURIM X before Christmas. It Was new from MSI. I am going to do a build with the X 570 Godlike in the Lian Li Lancool 2 Mesh with the Lian Li uni fans. MSI and Lian Li build.

Just upgraded from the amd r6700xt to this card and I couldn't be happier 🔥🔥🔥🔥 took a long time and fast finger on the "hot stock" app but I can rest now 🤣🤣🤣
I’m using my Suprim GPU sag bracket supplied as a headphone stand 😂 2m taped to the desk! Works perfectly as yes my lian li XL case gives me no way to use it 💪👍

Lol those bottom fans are installed as exhaust fans , just so you know :) the sag bracket could actually sit on your fan if its intake . you just let it sit in the middle of your fan.
I was looking for this comment, bottom fans are exhaust and not intake. I was double checking my uni fans thinking I was wrong.. lol..

@@waffel6378 i got lucky. That shop, where i got it - i was at it's online-page at the exact moment when the card appeared in the listing of available gpu's. So it was basically just a perfect timing and an extreme amount of luck. I ordered it right away and got the card reserved for me. I placed an order on November, 23, and got the card itself on December, 18. So yeah, just luck. I was first in the line for it because of that timing.

I didn't realize my MSI motherboard had RGB lighting built in to the board until you mentioned the MSI Dragon Center here and I downloaded it. I just ordered this same card and am waiting for it to come in.
The provoked pawn gang, gang gang lol your voice is just beautiful as Morgan freeman’s voices may not sound the same but it’s nice to listen too and that’s one hot gpu 70c even my 3090 only reaches to 64c.
It was being abused by some pretty hard testing tbh.

Just bought this card, it's an absolute whopper and runs very quietly compared to my Asus strix 2080ti oc. Another topic but any luck getting the Samsung G9 to 240Hz, I can't get mine to achieve it keeps messing with the resolution and I'm latest firmware etc. PS you have the best name on YT!
Bought this card used for 450EUR and man that cooling is godlike. No need for water cooling. But it weights a ton.
Cool review. I saw you had the RTX with an MSI mobo and Lian Li unifans. What did you do to get the Dragon Centre to play nice with L-Connect. Theres quite a few community threads with people who cant get their L-Connect to control unifan lighting whilst Dragon is installed
I believe there's a recommended fix for it on the unifan page. I usually set my lighting all to blue. 🧐😂 (See the FAQ at the bottom, they keep updating that lian-li.com/product/uni-fan-sl/)

Sorry for spamming comments, but do you have any vibrations from the uni fans? I get some vibs when I set mine at like 1200rpm. Also what speed do you run your fans at?
Usually on quiet (800rpm) but even when ramped up to max under heavy load I've not noticed vibrations.
Great video! Have a question on the G9. are you in PIP/PBP mode? If not, what are you using to get your right half borderless in hitman?
Yes. I was using that just so I could capture 16:9 video for TH-cam.

Hi, i know this is an old vid now, but a got a tiny L-Bracket with my Lian-Li that screwed over the top of the SATA ports on my Motherboard. (Asus ROG Crosshair VIII WiFi) not sure now if it actually came with the mobo.
so i only have 2 pcie ports on my PSU, is having have a solo cable and a daisy chain fine to use to power the card or is it worth my time to upgrade my psu to an 850 full modular which can support all 3 pcie cables independently?
for the record i do currently own this card, and it actually died on me (guess which game i was playing kek) so my question is more for future proofing on my replacement card due to arrive in a few days to make sure that if this could have potentially been the issue i can prevent it happening again. my current psu is only semi modular so im limited to the only 2 pcie slots.
I see it has 3 pcie connection. Can i just use a single pigtail pcie with 2 pcie head?

Because of suprim x 3070ti i was able to get rid off of my depression medicens permanantly.I was trying from past 3 years to get off from medicens but i cant.But my suprim x gave me so much satisfaction and peice...I cannot thank much and yess graphics card cure deaceses lol 😄

Well spotted sir! Hilariously, I noticed this a few weeks back and have already fixed it. I balls'd it up after reinstalling the SL120s after using the NZXT fans down there for the X73 RGB review. What a n00b I am! :-/ But fret not, the tests were run in the 5000D not in the Lian Li. So there were no fans blowing on the card from below xD
