  • Just a quick little video of my 1989 Yamaha Xv250 and how to remove the Stator cover. This video was made for someone who genuinely doesn't know what the hell they are doing just like me.
I hope this video was helpful ! :)

I bought an 07 xv250 and now I'm having problems with it starting. Someone told me it could be the stator, but before I do all that, I'm going to be putting a new battery in it anyway. I don't know how old the current battery is so I was already planning on getting a new one. If that doesn't work and it is the stator, this video did help. Thank you

Why is there a ground wire? Is it to connect the alternator body to the chassis to ground it? I don't see a ground wire going into my rectifier, only 3 wire from the 3 phases.

Do you recall a clip holding the starter gear inside the block? My starter is bad and I’m wandering if I can just pull it and put a new one on without opening the block

It's been a long time since I did that however I don't remember seeing that, I would assume you would be able to remove the starter without having to pull the side case off :)

Did the bolds came out easy? With a normal screwdriver or did you use a powertool?

I always use a rubber mallet and hit the screwdriver while turning so I don't strip the bolt.

How did you get the new gasket back on without taking off the wires?

I believe you can unbolt the harness and run It through, it been a bit since I've owned this bike so I honestly do not remember, best of luck !
