Hi Vinnie, it is hard for me to imagine that only a short time ago you lost your functional vision because now you have not only figured out how to work the gaming systems you are teaching accessibility to the VIP community. This really says a lot for you and your determination to just keep living your best life. I’m sure that like all of us it is difficult from time to time or day today or week to week but for you to be able to demonstrate and adaptive way to continue to gain , Well, it really just amazes me. Thanks for being so tenacious and proving to us once again that, where there is a will, there is a way. Have a wonderful weekend, love Beverly

Thank you Beverly and as funny as it sounds is I just learned this not that long ago. Could not wait to tell everybody!
It's nice to get back some of the old things I used to do while fully cited. Even though I have to do it in a whole different way I cannot complain because I am at least accomplishing something I thought I could not any longer.
I know I make it sound like I'm playing games for hours on end that is not the case. My eyes only allow me to handle only so much time minutes to like an hour tops. But that is better than the zero minutes I was playing for the last two years.
It's just nice to know Beverly that excessibility is gaining traction in every way in our lives. I couldn't say it enough that I truly believe if there was ever a time in my life I had to go blind I am grateful it was now. I almost feel like all the successibility was just for me. Lol
You have yourself a blessed weekend and I hope your house is back in order after all that family parties.

I know for a fact the games are in the works right now. They will be fully accessible. It's only a matter of time. Then the future consoles will be built from the ground up with accessibility in mind.
always great to hear from you again thanks for watching the video and listening in.

Cool to know! I had some XBox fitness game things I haven't used since becoming a V I P. Great to know that even if I find the XBox too challenging to use, there are other options out there like the Switch. Tetris is my favest game of all time, wonder what the accessible version is like.

I do not own an Xbox however, I have heard from others that do that it has great accessibility features. I would have done a video on it if I had own one.
when it comes to Tetris it was one of the only games I was able to play in the beginning of my vision loss but not for long periods of time as soon as it gets too fast I could not play.
But now my vision got worse to the point where it is today and it's just one of those games I cannot touch.
I definitely cannot play games like columns as I have a hard time with colors.
but I am almost positive Tetris will be one of those games that is definitely accessible. It would be a very simple game to make accessible. Thanks for watching the video

Witches and zombies attacks me and spiders lol. I just let my daughter explore herself.😊😂

What you need to do is go into creative mode. This way you don't have to worry about anything trying to kill you. Also you can take all the time you want to do what you need to to figure out everything.
I had my son set the settings so that it was daytime all the time. It never turns night when I play Minecraft. Just like in real life once it becomes dark I see nothing. So being able to change certain settings does help a lot so don't be afraid to ask somebody for help. I'm lucky enough to have my boy do the job for me. But once in gameplay with the zoom function it makes it a lot easier for me. I still cannot read everything however I can make out with certain blocks are just by appearance alone. I utilize what peripheral vision I have left.
All I am saying is with time you will adapt just keep playing the game and we will all get easier over time.

I've never really been interested in video games although U did play the football game FIFA with my Dad for a while, he'd play the matches and I'd make all the decisions behind the scenes like picking the team. It was kind of fun for a while but I got bored because I couldn't play the matches. This is a really good video though, it's always interesting to hear your opinions no matter what the topic is

Matt, just imagine down the road they make a video game that is FIFA soccer manager in audio description completely accessible.
You would have a complete utter blast with that game. You could be the coach you could pull and push players, make very big decisions all while holding the controller in your hand. This is not far off the horizon my friend. And there will be plenty of games like this and others to follow.
I promise you you're very young so one of these days in the near future you will be playing a game console of your very own.
I hope school is going good I hope family life is going great for you my friend. Always great to hear from you

@@myvisuallyimpairedlife5674 well FIFA has or rather had when I played it with my Dad but I don't know if it still does a game mode called career mode. You basically got to create your own avatar and you could do a player career or a manager career. The manager career was the one we did, you become the manager or coach as you call it of any team you want. My Dad used to play the matches and I'd make all the off the pitch decisions.
I hope all is going well for you too my friend, enjoy the rest of the summer, we have nice weather in England right now, how about you?

@@mattinfullvision9598 your dad was basically audio description. Imagine if it was built into the game my friend I bet you enjoy it a lot more.
The weather here is gorgeous, I had a lot of trees cut down around my house so we've been outside doing yard work. Trying to do the best I can. but I'm proud of my boy cuz he's been helping me a lot. Lots and lots more work to come.

It would be nice if they would all default to accessibility text to speech, where a person would hear the option to turn it off, if they didn't want it. That said, I have no game consoles, except a ninetindo handheld thing that came out in 95 maybe or maybe Christmas of 94. It had little cartridges and an LED screen, it seemed, there was a magnifying apparatus that could be attached to it with a light. My brother got it for me when I could still see. I had chess, and joust, and pokemon. Later I a cartridge or two from a pawn shop. I think Castlevania may have been a favorite. It was something I kept in a kid friendly area of my old apartment along with a wheel of fortune game, and a bunch of more old school stuff to keep my friend's kids occupied so I could tell more quickly if one suddenly went quiet after I couldn't see them anymore, and might be getting into the cabinets with the child proof deterrents that pretty much can be opened by any crawling or standing toddler. Hard to
believe they are all in different military branches now!

well just so you know that is the way things are going now currently. Four example my television we had just purchased out of the box when we turned it on was in audio description. it asked me if I wanted to turn it off or continue with it. I thought that was amazing my mind was blown away.
Eventually, it will be like this with everything. Only time will put this into tuition.
Time flies by I understand. My kids only have 3 years until they are out the door. Feels like they were only infants yesterday.
My daughter is 3 years old however acts like she's 33. Lol I have to tell her to stop growing everyday. She never listens. Hahaha
And I'm pretty sure it was a game boy that you owned. Amazing little handheld device. My kids abused the living daylights are those things and they never broke. thanks for watching the video always great to hear from you

I know right? I’m totally blind myself, have a 14-year-old daughter, and just like you can’t believe time goes by so fast. She actually wanted a Nintendo switch several years ago for Christmas, and my mom was on the fence about getting her one, which I’m glad didn’t happen, because I wouldn’t have been able to do anything about setting it up for her, and I’m now on the fence about getting myself one for that reason as well as her possibly lusting after it.😎

That sounds like a gameboy color, or possibly a gameboy advance you have. I still own both, and surprisingly they still work. It cost an arm and a leg to buy cartridges for them now though.
