I ordered my OrCam Pro yesterday and should have it in less than a week. Thank you for the excellent demonstration and explanation of its features! I know it will do great things for me; it is going to change my life for the better. I will pair it with my new Beats headset. I wear hearing aids, so can’t use ear buds.

Just remember the orc cam takes practice! It might not work the way you're hoping right out the box but with time you will master it. I am confident it will definitely change your life for the better. But everybody is different but I have high hopes for you my friend.
I still enjoy my or cam however due to covid I had used it a little bit less as I am often home a lot more. But it is always grateful to know it's there when I need it. Thank you for enjoying the videos and I am so happy it was able to help you.

Hey I was just thinking of you. I saw a cane on the news that connects to your phone through Bluetooth. It gives you directions and stops you from getting lost. Seems like it would be a cool product to review on your channel.
Well it's always a good feeling to know someone's thinking about me! Lol and yes I already know about this white cane.
I actually know a few people that own this can already so if I needed to get my hands on one I'm sure I could. However, they do not have all too many good things to say. Not that it's a bad product and doesn't do what it's supposed to it just becomes overwhelming and very annoying. I guess the item is constantly talking. The other problem is canes like this are very costly to replace. Vision impaired and blind individuals like me tend to go through canes quite often. The last can I bought has only lasted me about 5 months. It's falling apart.
My only issue is I would not want to review something that was bound to get a negative review. Don't want a bad mouth any products if I'm hearing through the grapevine that they are already flawed. But I could be wrong and this cane could be the best thing ever until one's given to me I will never know. I am broke because I bought a very expensive bed. Lol

Hey Vincent. I enjoyed this video, and learned from it too. I will now have a go at connecting it to my AirPods - having that added level of "secrecy" would be great rather than having people listen to what Im being told by Orcam.

I don't know if you watched all three of the videos. But when I made this video like 2 years ago I actually demonstrated with your channel. I use the orcam to read out loud a notification on my phone which was your channel and I gave you a shout out.
I know I haven't text comments on your channel but I always listen to him when you upload them. I just been hiding. Lol but I'll be making videos soon. Just got my tripod in the mail today. My first video is going to be another orcam video.

Hey man I just was researching something and I thought of you. they are doing procedures now having to do with Crisper and they are giving people their vision back. not sure where you live but you could definitely travel to one of these places within the USA! Let me know what you think
That's cool I'll look into this info. The only problem is I have optic nerve damage not eyeball damage. So depending on what the procedure is that's helping people if it doesn't help the optic nerve I am out of luck.

@@techoftheblind1374 I know, I need to take my or cam videos and make them in their own playlist. I'm also going to do short little film clips of me using the orecamin certain locations like Subway, at a register etc.
Just know though I'm always watching and listening to your videos. I really enjoy the fact that you are all about that ecite device. Hopefully one day down the road you get a perk or two from the company itself cuz you have been doing a great job.
I was replying to a comment earlier saying that hopefully if my videos grew traction for the or cam. Maybe, the company itself would give me one to give away on my channel. Wouldn't that be a nice wishful thought. And I would love to help another individual. But the world is a unpredictable place and you never know.

The only reason I don’t think I could do that is because each unit is custom made for the user

Hello Vincent, I was just thinking that I hadn't heard from you in a while and I noticed you hadn't uploaded in a while. I hope everything's well your end pal
Everything is just fine my friend. Thank you so much for thinking of me. The only reason I have not uploaded is because I got into a slump!
I decided to take a break due to the fact that the policies had changed on TH-cam. Then after that I got caught up in life and then the glorious pandemic we are all dealing with today.
I had no intentions of quitting or stopping. However due to the pandemic a lot of things changed so I had to change with it. A lot of the things I love to do so much I had to stop, like going to church and Bible studies and peer support groups for the blind and my association for the blind in my state.
With all this I got into a funk and have not been able to make more TH-cam videos. Believe me I have tried. I still have no intentions of quitting and do want to make more videos as I got a few really cool things to show the vision impaired and blind.
I also did start a podcast however I wanted to have at least 10 episodes recorded. Before distributing out any episodes to the public. Got the logo done and I made an intro outro. But I wanted it to be a co-hosted podcast so all that is in the works today.
I hope things are going well for you across the pond my friend. I hope school went well and I hope if you're starting a new year that is going well as well.
Hope you and your whole family are being safe and you were being the best big brother ever. I am being truly honest when I say thank you for thinking of me my friend.

Hey Vinny, you did an absolutely fantastic job in this series. I am like Gabor, I’ll take one, don’t need to, one will do just fine. It is kind of interesting that my mom saw this very device demonstrated on TV, a talk show she was watching and she copied down the information printed on the TV screen and brought it to me to ask if I had heard of this device. I showed her your first two videos and she was like blown away. She doesn’t quite understand technology and she thinks that the or cam makes your eyes see all of the things that it is describing verbally.. But this was an excellent explanation by you of this device and I truly believe you would be an awesome representative for the company. I would absolutely love the facial recognition portion of this device because I have always had problems identifying who people are, even with my best visual acuity, years ago. My iPhone does not correctly identify many people although I have to hand it to Siri who keeps telling me that I am a 38-year-old happy looking female with dark hair. I’ll take that description any day! My iPhone also insists that Gretchen is a cat. So I really think The or cam would be a very good improvement over what my iPhone eight is doing currently. What I love about this device is it's fairly accurate all the time. But nothing is flawless especially when it comes to technology. We have a long ways to go before that happens.
But I truly wish that down the road in the future anyone who is of low vision, legally blind, blind or even dyslexic Will be given the chance to get one of these devices for free from their state country or region.
It is not a complete game changer but definitely helps in the process. I know I could get most of this stuff right from an app on my phone however the hands-free freedom you get from this device really does make a true difference.
For example, yesterday Beverly my wife daughter and in-laws and I went to a restaurant to eat. I was trying to use my phone because I forgot my or cam device. Even with the magnifier on my phone I found it to be a little annoying as I have a XL phone screen. Yes it makes it easier to view things when your vision is similar to mine however, is a big hassle trying to hold a giant brick and a menu and not be in the way of glasses and people. and it's a struggle in general just to try to make out the words that I can barely read. The orcam however would have just read it all with no hassles with just the pointing of my finger and a general direction. Makes a big difference for me doesn't make the large price tag seem so large anymore.
I do think though that these are outrageously priced as is all technology for the blind as you and I both know. But I'd rather pay a big chunk of money for something that truly works than something that doesn't.

First off do not apologize for anything ever! I was glad you were on my butt for this video series. It was something I really wanted to do for a while but I was afraid I would not do it good or justice. But you kept me on my toes so I say thank you.
Also, I have not yet played a regular card game with the device yet. Most of the card games my family and I play are young nerdy games like dungeons and dragons. Lol cards that have phrases or paragraphs on them. But for you I will try a deck of cards it should be able to read the numbers. but I will figure this out and make a quick little video for you. I already had full intentions of making short clips and uploading them onto TH-cam just for the orcam. For example, another individual wanted me to film myself at Subway reading the menu. I am going to upload a video of me doing that, then I will do a video of me playing regular deck of playing cards.
The good news is even if it does not read a real deck of cards you can program it to do so. Just like in part two of my video series I was able to make it recognize my remote control for my TV. You could just do the same thing with a deck of cards. You would have to do it 52 times lol but it would eventually get the job done. It would remember three of hearts three of diamonds three of spades and three of clubs with no problem.
Lastly, as long as you have a Bluetooth headset connected to the device which in part 3 I show you how to connect a Bluetooth headset towards the end of the video. The orkin will then whisper what it's reading in your ear so nobody else will hear it. That's how I play my cards. I just put in my Bluetooth headset and the orecam will tell me silently in the room.
I am grateful for all the questions, and I am very happy you've come back time and time again to watch and listen to my videos my friend. Don't ever think you're a nag you are just a great friend and subscriber. My family is going to have a great Christmas I hope your family does as well. All that matters is that we're all together with our loved ones. That's the best part of the holidays family with family. Best gift ever!
