I got this adapter a few weeks ago and like some others have already mentioned, it is not compatible with the Media Module. You can slip the Media Module on and use the fingers (it requires some finagling and manipulation) but you won't be able to clip it into a DJI magnetic mount. That's a pretty major drawback he failed to mention. I was pretty hyped about it up until I realized that was an issue. Oh, and there is two other tidbits he also left out. For whatever reason, when locked in, it doesn't sit as snug it does when using a DJI camera. When clamped on, it jiggles around. Not a huge deal considering how well image stabilization is but it's worth noting. And lastly, it only works with the first iteration of DJI magnetic mounts that came with the DJI Osmo Action 2. It is not compatible with the Osmo Action 3 or 4 magnetic mounts.

WE NEEEED a new MediaMod design from GoPro! Like I mentioned in my video all about the MediaMod, even when it's on there, in order to change batteries, you have to unmount the camera to access the battery door. I'm hoping we can convince them to design something that just avoids the mounting area completely🙌

Yeah, I was excited about it until I noticed there was no way for the media mod to work. The media mod is the biggest pain the the backside when it comes to accessing the battery and the SD cards. I'd like to have a door swing open without having to unmount it every time. This was so close to making the unmounting easier, yet so far away still. I'm going to just scrap GoPro 100% out of my life the next time I need a set of action cameras. When I'm using my Hero 9's there are days when they both overheat and I can't capture anything anyway. The only feature I like on them is the hindsight, period. That is the only thing that might make me think about GoPro again.
This would be terribly easy. Just put legs on the media mod... Problem solved. @@DavidManningvlog
This may sound like a stupid question, but isn’t the reason the gopro has those flick out feet is because the base is used as a heat sync to dissipate the heat generated from within?
So removing that sync and placing what is effectively a seal into the same air, won’t that effect how efficient the camera operates and keeps itself cool?

I got some of these a while back so I could modify my osmo action 1 to fit my action 2 magnetic mounts. The ones I got were not falcam but work quite well.
It’s even possible to use on the base of any small camera so these can be used on the same tripods and grips .

That is a game-changer! I gotta get me some of those. I'd also be interested in how strong those magnets are. Great for day-to-day use but I think I would still want to tighten them down with the thumb screw when mounted to a helmet or vehicle.

Reading the product description it is actually 5-in-1 as it is also Arca-Swiss compatible. A definite must buy for recent GoPros!!
Someone mentioned that and it broke my brain that I missed that. This should be the universal mount for all action cameras!

I've been trying so many different magnetic mounts, and this looks like it could be the one. I broke a Snapmount (the plastic snapped at the mounting point), the Ulanzi go quick was too chunky, I was about to try Fidlock's new mount, but this really looks like the answer.
Combine it with the Jeebel 3-battery charger with USB-C in and the ability to act as a power bank, and seems like third-parties have pretty much solved all of the ways DJI was ahead.
Game changer! Love that it still has the feet for when I might not trust the magnet!

David, dood, you didn't mention anything about the incompatibility with the GoPro Media Mod. I use the Media Mod a lot because I use a wireless mic when vlogging. I bet there's quite a few Media Mod users here that are wondering the same thing.
People that get free stuff never tell you what’s wrong with it because they want to continue to get free stuff. I’m sure he is well aware that it didn’t fit in the media mod.

When useing that dji magnet mount couldn't the gopro comeapart from the magnet if say you hit a bump to hard on a bike or surfing ect..?? Or is there an actual locking mechanism on there aswell? Seems to me the gp feet system is the full proofest being it can't get knocked apart , I've never used that one is why I'm asking ,wouldn't want a magnetic mount that vibration from the quad could shake it apart .
I believe this has a 5th mounting option as well. Magnetically placing it on flat ferrous surfaces (cars, fridges, fence posts etc)
I just pray that the new GoPro will incorporate this magnetic mount into their future GoPro’s🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

I need confirmation that this mount would work with the Hero 8! Edit: I don't see why not as the hero 8 has the 4 screws under the feet as the other model.
I think it's genius!! Falcam stuff is something I'm not into but very happy to see they are shaking up things. Reason GoPro might not have done it already might be due to copyrights or patents on DJI's mounts, maybe?

Unfortunately the GoPro would not fit into the underwater case anymore. But other than this, great accessories
Why did the original GoPro quick mount system, with the little rubber pad you pushed up and then unclipped the mount, never take off? It seemed like it worked really well and I never had one of those fall apart or become corroded with saltwater like I have other mounting systems.

How secure is the magnetic mount system? It looks like the GoPro could just wiggle off pretty easily.

Using the thumbscrew system with tether secures the GoPro from being lost during, say...whitewater kayaking, MTBing, etc...

If the Hero 12 has a mic jack. With this mod, GoPro for the win. I'm using the Falcam system to take video front and back with one of their mounts. Just have to twist the camera 180 degrees.

As a true Action Cam, I wonder with this amazing new magnetic mounting system, will my GoPro Hero 11 rattle loudly if mounted outside on my Rally Car, or simply fly off on jumps or quick deceleration maneuvers in hard turns on my motocross course on my Honda CRF450X? The clamp mounting system I currently use with aluminum screws is solid as anything...Absolutely NO rattling and the Cam won't come off unless I hit a tree or a stump directly on it!
Can you test this amazing magnetic mount out on what the true intention of the cam is supposed to be? Walking around, running, maybe stuck on a bike while city cycling isn't compelling enough to buy this product, although the 20-thread screw hole...I liked that part! Keep up the good work. Thumbs up!
What about the heat disipation? the main function of the retractable support in the gopros is to open a space to disipate the heat following the testers
I actually talked with GoPro last year after my overheating tests and they explained that the flip down feet don't need to be down to disperse heat. There just needs to be airflow underneath the GoPro, meaning it should be mounted and not sitting flat on a table

would you recommend going dji magnet mount or the f22 / f38 system? i like potentially being able to put my gopro and my GH5 on the same tripods? but that f22 / 38 system is quite a bit more pricey than this dji system

This is a game changer!!!! however I have one question and one observation. Does is work on a HERO 8? and with this mount you can'r use the media mod....
I already have the adapter for the GoPro that switches out the regular feet with one that also have the 1/4-20 threads. I don't have any of the DJI action cameras, but I do have a f-22 mount. The issue I'm seeing the DJI mount attaches to the GoPro mount and the f-22 mount attaches to a 1/4-20 hole. So, you still have the issue of the 1/4-20 mount sometimes wants to spin off. I see this adapter as a go solution for a quick mount keeping the camera close to the attachment point. Plus, there are f-22 bases with GoPro feet making a pretty solid setup while still keeping the camera close to the mounting point.
Falcam also has a similar adapter that doesn't do the f-22 or arc mounts. Plus, that have their own version of the DJI mounts AND an adapter for the X3 to GoPro feet!
I'm off to order some stuff right now!
I've seen some other coments about the media mod, how about the diving case, I don't think it would be easy if you have to look for the screwdriver between shots to switch from the media mod to the diving case to the maguiver mount ¿Can you show us how would it be?

What exactly do I need to buy in addition to the mount in the box to get this to work? I have no other DJI equipment thus far... what is the base attached to the camera mounted to (whats it called)?
They actually make two different mounts. One has the F22 system mount and one does not. I own the one that does not and absolutely love it. There is one caveat though. You can only use the 1/4-20 screw when the GoPro is in the Media mod. Not a big deal, only something to be aware of.
Can the Falcam F22 system replace the peak design mount? I use that for all my big cameras.
After replacing the Go Pro fingers with the magnetic mount where can I but a mini handheld stick so that I can easily attach it instead of using the screw in method ?

Perfect for anything static or stable predictive movement, not sure if I would trust the magnet on a mountain bike or freestyle drone lets say or even anything that vibrates for example unless it had a locking mechanism in addition to the magnet.

Sort of sits in that same area as the flip down feet from GoPro, so I don't see much of a difference in thermal dispersion issues
I have the hero 10 but was wondering how will this work with the overheating the Hero 10 is known for? I was under the assumption that i would have to have the bottom of the camera feet open with the little clip and screw that comes with mt hero 10 to help dissipate heat and reduce overheating time? I was gonna get a DJI Action 4 because of this 😅
You didn't explore the 5th option for this mount: It is Arca Swiss compatible.
I contacted Ulanzi and they didn't confirm that it was waterproof.
If you have the go Quick II system you still need to screw the qo quick plate which is not as versatile -you need to take the thumb screw and the Go quick II plate to mount on other type of mounts- like the 1/4'' or Arca Swiss.
If you have the F22 system then its fully compatible with F22, Arca Swiss , 1/4''.
So in summary:
If you have the go quick II mount system on your acessories this is not worth it.
If you don't have any quick release system, this could be an option.
If you have the F22 system its fully compatible and a truly 5-1 mount like advertised.
Absolutely! I didn't check the website, just started playing around with it, but yes Arca Swiss compatible as well! It is waterproof with it on there. The mounting points on the bottom don't affect the GoPro's waterproofing at all
I bought the necessary mount and accessory to make the conversion and could not get all four screws out. Two came out no problem. The others were like stripped. I tried everything I could think but could not remove them. Oh well ….. Any tips would be appreciated.

No on the Media Mod integration. Doesn't have an noticeable effect on cooling.

but, if you put the gopro in a waterproof casing, that mount has to be unscrewed off right? I don't know if I would trust those magnets from me not losing my gopro btw.
what about the plastic protective housing cases for gopro? You would have take off the four in one mount just to put the camera into the plastic housing.
does it effect the water seals? will the magnet hold in surf?
Personally, I'm a big fan of the aftermarket quarter twenty adapter for the Gopro, they can be purchased for under $15.
but can it be used to get on the beach? Or the gopro fits in the housing?
