This is very helpful. I got the 12 with an extra battery on Amazons black friday sale for $350. It came with a couple extra minor goodies too. I had been buying nearly every gopro up through 8 and needed to upgrade. Your videos go over things in the right amount of detail without being too long. Perfect. Thanks.

I am using the 9 and 11, and the only issue I complain about is if you use them both with the remote. The 11 eleven forces a firmware update for the remote, and in the following, you can start/ stop the recording on Hero 9, but options can't be changed via remote anymore. So if you have both cameras mounted,e.g. on a motorbike and want to change recording options, you have to use the backscreen of Hero 9 whilst Hero 11 can be changed via remote.

Very useful comparison. Thank you very much. I think I'll go with the 11 model since it seems to have a great quality and costs much less than the 12. The prices you've shown in the video are pretty different now, a few months later, they are almost double.

I think the 11 is the best one keeping almost all the features besides the Bluetooth connections with the earbuds and keeping the GPS function
A questions would recommend a gopro for a beginner making youtube videos mostly at home?
@@youtubeaccount7137GoPro is a good handicam. It’ll let you take video of just about anything and can be mounted anywhere. It has a pretty wide lens so close up shots will be difficult.
It really depends on what you want to do tho. An interchangeable lens camera like a Sony will do much better if you’re willing to put in the effort and aren’t gonna do anything super action heavy.
@@youtubeaccount7137 GoPros do work very well for vlogging, but I think it is better to record with an iPhone or perhaps a Google Pixel, they have much more flexibility, different lenses, battery, better microphones, professional recording formats and calibrated colors, and they record better in low light conditions. But if you really need a camera separate from your cell phone, I think the DJI Action works better, it has better colors, it can record in LOG with 10 bits of color (basically the professional film recording format), it has a larger sensor than the GoPro so it records much better in the dark, and it is cheaper than the GoPro. There is also the DJI Osmo Pocket (it is a mini camera with integrated 3-axis stabilization) which has the same sensor as the DJI Action and has many more amenities, since since the camera has stabilization, you can do a lot of other things, such as have the camera follow you, record vertically, etc... but I don't know anything about its price so I don't know if I would recommend it, plus it is not as water or shock resistant as an iPhone or a DJI Action or GoPro.

"9 & 10 are slightly behind on darker areas" From the footage i would say 11 & 12 are behind, just look at the dark stem on the tree to the back right 01:08.
I was thinking of upgrading my GoPro 9, but the 9 seems like a definitive winner if you want overall sharp footage when shooting at sunny/cloudy day

Very true,If you want the one to shoot during daylight then remain with your hero 9 don't upgrade,you can shoot with your Iphone or any other camera at night bt hero 9 wins on light.

For me, the 9 stands out the most. It just looks more vibrant. I have the 9 and was going to upgrade to the 12, but i think I'll wait until the 13 comes out. Hopefully, it will have a 1 inch lens this year.

My best the GoPro Hero 11! The GoPro 11 have very cool colors and very good price.
My hero 10 has horrible footage since I got it. Tried so many settings. Jittery. Looks like 640 x 480. Objects jump around, trees appear and disappear. Etc.
Slightest shadow makes the footage dark. Hunts for propper lighting, etc. Are all gopros jumpy at times? Seems.not smooth. Just jittery.
Do I need to return it??
Would be nice to see Linear comparison, and the new mode Linear +, I saw a video with L+ in the menu so that's Linear + right?
So far nobody has showcased this. I'm a mountain biker and want to show how the trails actually are so I need minimal distortion, preferably none. Thus I'm still using GoPro HERO7 Black PeauPro 87 3.37mm, which can only use Wide mode, but everything looks like it does in real life, but of course video quality is not as good. And no Enduro battery so it can't handle sub zero temps. Nobody seems to show what I need. so might need to buy one to try it.
No GPS on 12? Planning my next Camino del Santiago with a Gopro, no GPS sounds like a bad idea.

I'm looking for a GoPro that can record long hours and have great quality for high-quality speed and fast motion. I would like to filme something like Drag racing, something that I would be able to slow down Extremely slow and still have great quality, and something that will have great quality as I'm having to moving from side to side motion....and something that doesn't cost a arm and a leg...lol....can someone point me to the right GoPro for filming high speed Drag Racing.????

Mama Mia. Used to love GoPros but haven’t gotten a new one since the 9. I’ve used them professionally for b roll but these constant upgrades probably aren’t necessary. If the stock hits sub $1 for a year it’ll be delisted and boy has it been slowly crawling down to a dollar.

Hero 9 is laggy as hell, slower than a 6, get rid of it. $200 should do the trick

I'd say the 11 since it has 8:7 aspect ratio, Enduro battery and still has the GPS function

A 9 will still get you great footage, like he said, minimal differences. I don’t know about you but watching this I almost felt like the 9 was more appealing to look at

Yes hero 9, 10, 11 and 12 are the same size, you can use the same accessories for them
I use the Hero 9 and see no reason to upgrade yet. I do like being able to film in portrait mode without turning the camera but I don’t film in portrait mode enough to convince me to upgrade yet. However, the Hero 12 looks like an amazing action camera. I love the improvements.

@@knock3x: If you are watching on a phone, tap the screen of your phone. You will see a symbol that looks like a cog wheel. Tap it and it will bring up the quality options. The higher the quality the more data your phone will use. I watch You Tube videos on my phone in 1080 and find it good enough.
