    Great work on working the boat. Excellent work showing what a sail change in variable wind and rolling seas by yourself with Hank-on sails is like. I’m not a great sailor, but I recognize what’s going on. You’re doing a great job of showing what the real deal is. Woot!

      Thanks. It's just something to do. You don't get the more exciting times because you don't mess around with video when that comes. And it usually seems to be dark. Not that there has been very much of that.

    Curious what the change in boat speed is when shaking out a reef like that.

      Probably a half knot to a knot. It depends on how quickly the wind is changing and how quick I am keeping up with the change. I don't really sail by numbers so I can't say for sure. Plus no real knot meter so I'm just trying to keep an average and sail by feel. So much energy is lost when the boat is jostling around it is nothing like sailing in the Salish Sea.
