Just think about what hurdles they have to overcome and how much freedom has been cut in the last years. For everything you need a license nowadays and first you pay fees. 50 years ago you could live from one dollar a day on your boat. That’s long gone. Today you need so much passive income for a liveaboard, you need to have a truly unique idea to achieve some serious money at young age , to get there or you use other people’s money per youtube. But then you are constantly forced to produce content until all the fun is gone. So basically it’s becoming more and more impossible and that is exactly what the rich people in power want. And I’m not criticizing capitalism here. Rather the opposite is the case. Communism camouflaged as socialism is on the rise and with it comes regulations and surveillance.
Stunning vessel.. You never actually own such a piece of history.. You've signed on to take care of her as long as you can. The captain probably dreams maintenance, lives eats and sleeps maintenance and his holidays are spent doing maintenance! All the while with love in his heart.
I had 30 footer wooden one. Couldnt keep up with her maintainence. This one here, ough. You're a slave, and she needs to work, just to keep her like that. Kudos to her Captain.
The problem is that people tend to think of maintenance as a chore you mustn't like. It's not. You maintain things you have, like your own body, so it stays in good condition and you don't have to buy new. It's respecting and honoring the value of things. In modern times people don't know anything and hence throw away their things, if the powercable of the TV is broken. Scale that further and you end up dissecting your engine, changing the headgasket and install new navionics.
You're basically a full-time maintenance man when you live on an old sailboat. He doesn't sound like he's burned out or worn out! It sounds like he's got it all figured out.

@@msmegification not sure about this given that many in the world live either with very little or no money and provided that they are not contaminated by consumerism, they seem quite content i.e. you only need what you need and being trapped by a bloody great mortgage is not one of them
So tell me then, how do you afford to buy such a boat and rig it with all the high-tech equipment that's a board it without a great deal of money? Do you have any idea how much that equipment costs?
I'm not arguing with you regarding consumerism, or with the concept that you need very little to live comfortably. What I am saying is that this boat likely cost a great deal of money to procure upgrade and maintain. That doesn't come free or at a low cost, it is a very expensive endeavor and it's ongoing.

Such a lucky man. You can see in his face that he is happy, you can be really proud about your preasure life. Really nice old sailboat, she is a beauty with lots of love. I wish you allways good wind and fun in your sailing adventures and your journey. best wishes from Germany
Definitely one of the best boats I've ever seen on youtube. It has so much character and charm, everything has it's own place and it's been looked after brilliantly by a really well down to earth veteran.
There's something about his voice... sometimes you can sence a feeling of sadness, affection, calm, Gratitude... all at the same time!
I absolutely love this boat. So much character and history. Such a beautiful vessel.
Wow. What a beautiful classic boat. A great story from an interesting man, Martin; Captain Martin. Who would not want to sail on this beauty given the chance. Imagine the stories you could hear around the dining table each evening. Fabulous. Thanks for posting this video, Dylan and friends. Glad I caught it.
This video was filmed in Kotor, Montenegro, We were on anchor and Styrr came and anchored near us. We hopped in the dinghy and went over and asked if we could get a tour. Such a beautiful boat! What's you're favorite part?
The very last drone shot has Arianrhod in the shot so you can see the size comparison to our 1979 Morgan 382
every inch of it is a favorite. It is amazing!
amazing...
liked the pussy book in the bookshelf near the staircase haha
My hometown, how wonderful.
Hard to say my favorite part, but I want that boat, or at least one like it. That's a special one, and my hometown is Newport RI, so I know my boats. Great video, of a very lucky man. Good bless you for this video. It really made me think. Thank you!
Martin you have just lowered my blood pressure just walking me around your lovely home 🙏Thank you for taking me to a more peaceful place, you are clearly a very intelligent & resourceful gentleman. Take care & peace be with you 🙏
That vessel has so many memories woven around it......what a beautiful boat along with a beautiful lifestyle.
Thankyou for the tour of your home....truly stunning.
Both the boat and this humble man's life are simply, PRICELESS. In the first scene I thought, 'My God, how can that still float...', but as the video progressed, I actually became quite emotional at the beauty and character of everything - including Martin himself. GBY
This is the most beautiful sail boat I think I have ever seen. Wood has such a better look, it will be around a 100 years from now. Thank you for sharing your boat,
Actually it was around one year, then it sank.
The way you live your life is what I am longing and preparing for to live mine! Thank you for giving me inspiration and hope :)
This board is a dream. Beautifully crafted. He’s totally self sufficient -awesome 👍
man those 2 rolls royce engines where huge! i wish i knew more about them. what a cool boat!
And that Ladies and Gentlemen is real wealth
I agree
...and it is the freedom that financial wealth can buy. Must be nice.
Duuuuuuude! How do you spin those webs that snare fascinating people, places and content? And then you edit it to hypnotize all of us. I'm just gobsmacked and in love with this one. The wood, everything felt like a fantasy world I want to go live in. You somehow find a way to outdo your perfect editing and vision every week. Hell yes
it's really nice to hear this guy talk about boat-life in such a balanced way.
and to talk about it as such a nice way to live, and to also comment that there are other good ways to live too.
it's so nice to hear the balance.
Thank god there is someone out there living their dreams.
your sailboat is the most beautiful, most awesome boat i ever, EVER laid eyes on!!! God bless you!
Hell with a 3 million boat. I want this. The creeks in the floor rafters and the furniture reminds my of my grandad and nans house.
This boat is expensive too it’s a Rolls Royce that’s why it’s still looking sexy classic
InstegramSHQIP i know other wise I would not comment. This is the creme de la creme of all boats.
InstegramSHQIP it is not worth 20.000 but it’s the significance of it that gives it character.
JOEY RABBIT I like this more than the rest I would use this boat for weekends chilling just seating in the back in that swing relaxing on a warm windy weather aahhh and cooking fish 🐟 perfect weekend
InstegramSHQIP I would make this my full time home if I didn’t have my daughter lol. Dreams hey. Lol.
Full of admiration for how you have kitted out this boat and your lifestyle. He casually says he was struck by lightening twice!
Martin seems like the kind of lad that would crack a few cold ones to have a lengthy chat about his boat. awesome video and vibes.
What a wonderfully cozy boat. Love it 💗🙂
What a beautiful boat, and fantastic presentation, thanks for the inspiration .
Be still my heart; i am in awe. This is beautiful. I am dreaming of visiting this some day. As a Usnavy vet, this is my dream.
What I love about this boat, is that it's not perfect- but it doesn't have to. You never find the charm this one has on pretty much any of the tours of brand new and expensive boats on youtube. Beautiful.
The colors are just perfect. Really comfy
Martin is an amazing guy, and i just love his boat. It is just beautiful... old for sure, but just beautiful. I love the woodwork and the warmth and comfort that it exudes. Stunning :-)
Man you got the camera action down brother! Excellent! Great interview.
This is my new favourite boat. Looks giant, and I love the creaking sounds of the wood.
Lol that creaking was the bottom telling him it was about to fall off. And it did.
I always considered myself blessed to have been a mason apprentice under my 3 uncles and father and father's friends, a rare amount of knowledge for a lad.Im 44 now, I'd trade it all to beside this man. In my mind has always been a wonder of what's just out of site, around the next corner. What a love affair, the sea and a sailboat. She's beautiful. My sailing lessons start in a few weeks. It's an awe inspiring to see and hear your story.
Absolutely beautiful boat! The inside is surprisingly impressive and tasteful. Love it! I cannot imagine the work 10 people would have to do on a regular basis to maintain this boat let alone one man!
Loved this boat more than all the fancies I've seen! It looks so homy and cozy! Great life! I wish I had the courage to venture the oceans!
wow ive watched a ton of boat stuff and this is the coolest so far
I like the voice of this man. so peaceful and "a bit of gravel in the throat"
That bit of gravel in the throat, as you call it, will be diagnose as throat cancer, in the near future. IF HE KEEPS SMOKING...
Gravel in the throat because he smokes!!!
lets's hope its not the case.wish him the best
Well. you dont see a wife....
He seems so at peace, and relaxed yet looking at his hands says there's been a lot of hardwork.
As someone whom does woodworking and remodeling on homes, this boat is absolutely a work of love, and art. The layout is frickin awesome and I've never seen anything like it. I'm quite honestly very jealous. As someone that lives a very minimalist life, I very rarely am jealous of anything. I send a thank you sir from Texas for sharing this lovely ship.
OMGoodness what a vessel and home. So much work. Impressive. Thanks for the look aboard.
I liveaboard a 1967 44ft viking motoryacht and we would love to have you visit Dylan
Message me on instagram instagram.com/dylanmagaster/
Now thats a journey man life style done in style. The dont build them like that anymore. Normally the old boats are really tight below, but this looks amazing. I would love to see more shots with the full sail plan up.
It’s a converted fishing boat, he pulled out the bulkhead for the fish hold to give more room below deck
A century sounds like a long time till you are over half way there 😉
Was not expecting the interior to look as amazing as it did by looking at the outside of the boat! The saying, 'never judge a book by its cover' could not be more apparent. Excellent, dream like movie, FLORB!
Wonderful vessel. We had the identical wood stove in my grandparent’s cabin. Lots of great memories watching grandpa stoke and tend to it when I was a kid.
The book at 2:35
caaan somebody gibe me da __ please?
Yeah.....I saw that too. I bet he has gotten plenty on that boat.
If you have a lifestyle like he does... you have to be able to manage a huge amount ... of... _______
What's book? Can explain me, please? )
@@manta1969manta the book titled pussy
nothing works on an old boat except it's owner.

Nice boat, your living my soon to be realized dream, always a inspiration to see others proving the possibilities, thank you!
Love this boat it feels safe sturdy I watch other videos but always comeback to this one
Enjoy the wind Sir take care be safe
Marty great to see you and your lovely Sail boat, happy Sailing.

Amazing!! Every single spot looks so coozy.. it looks like the most comfortable house ever.. I guess except when the weather is nasty... I would have loved hearing about what happens when a thunder strikes your boat... Besides the awesome insurance that covered you.
Thunder never strikes...it's the lightning that'll kill ya....lol
@@spignetti thank you David... Guess my second language just got confused with ACDC's song thunderstruck ... lol.
One must study the pussy.
I have that, it's good. It's a novel about a spoiled prince who lives in a country that's entirely blind to climate change and pollution. They all go around in winter clothes because the entire city is air conditioned because its constantly 35 Celsius outside. He grows up with no respect for women and likes to 'grab em by the pussy'. It's almost as if it's aimed at a certain floppy haired orange hate-goblin. ;)
a beautiful boat, well loved, congratulations, the sea loves you
This man is truly living his own agenda.
I was watching lots of episodes of living in a van, and feeling jealous of that people. This is, by far, the next level of it! admire!!
That boat is stunning. Absolutely beautiful.
Absolutely gorgeous vessel. So much character and charm. I'd love to live on something just like this too. I bet he loves every single day on it. Safe journeys out there! Namaste 🙏
Good on ya mate, only real boat I've seen. I can close my eyes, smell the smells of a wooden boat again, and die a happy man.
He seems very " at one " with his boat and lifestyle . A great achievement . At first sight I thought the boat was a converted Scottish fishing boat . Looks a very stable design .
He said it WAS built in Scotland, so the styling likely has the clues you saw.
That is one amazing ship! Awesome! Thank you Martin Binswanger for sharing!
What a beautiful Yacht ..... you have everything in it ! Keep it in good shape and ENJOY !
This man lives the perfect life
wow, great boat, you have a wonderful life, my friend
so the lightning brings new electronics... how nice is that
Thank you for showing your home.
You and your vessel are beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
No need to retire at 70 captain I'll be your crewman, you just stay on the wheel & bark out the orders, I'll do the rest.
✊
ME TOO ME TOO 😻
Me too.
But his solar panels only enough for him. You will bring noise to his quiet life.
Very nice sentiment.
just so cool, i hope you get another 70 years sailing my friend.
john Hughes
Did you cross paths on the water ?
@@Onlinesully no, i wish i had, just a very impressed landlubber.
john Hughes
Yes it's a smashing boat alright
He sailed around Italy, Greece, and Turkey in a 420?
That's... an interesting choice.
Why? I dont know much about boats but looks bigger than a catilina 22 or 25
@@smallnuts2 A 420 is a fourteen foot boat. It is a racing dinghy with a center board.
@@maneki9neko Yeah when I heard him saying that, I kinda reassessed the guy right away. Wow. For a second I could have believed that he built this one himself (maybe he could have, just didn't want to put in that much time)
Really good video thanks for sharing. Morning coffee is the best when on the water.
Just the most beautiful sailboat. Unique and full of old fashioned charm and character.
Hi Dylan, beautiful videography! This is such a winning combination: sailing around and filming alternative living spaces such as this wonderful boat. Maybe one day we'll share an anchorage somewhere. We'll add this video to the "Boat Tours" playlist on our channel, which has everything from a 26 foot gaff cutter to large catamarans. Maybe one day we'll share an anchorage with you somewhere on this beautiful blue planet of ours. Fair winds! Chris, Rossella & Emma 👍
i thot you would like it !!
That is BEAUTIFUL!!! 😍 The Woodwork is Stunning 👍🏻 This is fine tiny living in the best of sense! All I can think is...WOW!
Tiny? Its at least three times the size of my apartment. Maybe all five. I live in europe and not even poor...
That's splendid!!!
@@NGC1433 yep it might be a lot of narrow passeges and some ladder but it's got more space than what I currently live in....plus a much better view
