What I don't like about Mercedes is the flat design. Everything is washed out round. It won't age well. I agree with you about the internal display. Imagine having display and therefore fingerprints everywhere. You need to clean that all the time.

No Hollywood musician put the sound together for Mercedes …you’re thinking of Hans Zimmer and BMW.

Actually, I just found out that it was Linkin Park who Mercedes-Benz hired for the sound. But, you're right, I was thinking about Hans Zimmer with BMW at first.

I like how you pointed out the positives and negatives. I agree, I wish the range is around 325. From what what I’ve seen from testers, they are getting close to 300 but still. We won’t talk about the Tesla’s range issues. But others have better range. I love the comfort in this vehicle, for the driver and outboard rear passengers. The hatch area looses space with the area shape of the rear. Thank you.

I am getting between 320-340 miles on stated range of 253…I researched this before purchase, and that’s what warranted a purchase.

@@johnclaeys376 wonderful. I sent my order in for for a 2024 4Matic this weekend . They upped the wattage on the 350+ and the 500 to 96. To 90.56 on the 4Matic.

One of my neighbours is waiting for his 2024 EQE 500 without the hyperscreen. But my question is how come the MB Canadian site is still having you build a 2023?!? My comment is that you must watch your head when entering the vehicle even at 5.10!

The reason they have the E in EQE. Is because it represents the E class. Just like the S in EQS represents the S class ….As a Benz owner I really like the badging. Nice review

Nathan, you did a perfect job of giving the good and the bad and keeping it balanced. I used to think you did not actually like EVs but I think I was wrong.

The EQE 500 4 Matic has max 550 km WLTP range about 300 miles. Where did this guy get his data from ? The AMG version 475 km = 295 miles
Edit: About the look. It depends on the package you chose.

In the center console there was an image of a key. I assume that was a key fob charger. Which beats the chit out of having to replace the battery. (even if it is free at the dealership) I am not thrilled with the exterior design. Bubble designs might be the "in" thing these days, but they are ugly. IMO. The interior colors, not a fan. But it being a Mercedes, it is a place I would not mind spending time in. (especially over a Tesla) And I agree with you Nathan about the screens vs this wood panel design. As long as the surfboard stuck on the dash after thought infotainment screen is not there, it is an improvement. lol

Am just about to purchase this model and already had a test drive. Superb car. Am based in Europe so I added the Hyperscreen. Anyone know why it is not available in the US market. It makes a huge difference.

Great review, however there is absolutely nothing about this vehicle, that is "offroad" anything other than some pitch/yaw sensors and adjusting suspension height for getting into your slightly steep driveway. Interested to see a G Wagen EV but this is a hard pass, like basically everything from MB these days. Youd have to be a complete fool to actually *buy* any of these piles

why o why do people still believe the EPA ratings? The ratings are the choice of the manufacturer and mercedes electric cars always go further than listed. same goes for porsche. tesla is usually way short

The styling. I'm getting used to it seeing it on the road more and think it looks pretty good on the EQEs but doesn't seem to scale up well to the EQSs.
On the range, you guys should know better than to be quoting the epa numbers. Do a little of your own testing, or at least look at other outlets that do. Merc and a couple of others submit epa numbers lower than many will get in the real world, unlike Tesla that will be way over the real world.

Yes the German under promise but over delivered, BMW promise under 300 miles on the ix m60, but when tested with the 21 inch wheels in conservative mode the the ix m60 get close to 400 miles range.

    • @godofdun
      @godofdun 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@leonardferguson8413 Yup, better to do it that way. I mean I'd really prefer the numbers to just be fairly accurate but the testing cycles that are supposed to be used don't currently allow that so over delivering is the next best.

Current German EV SUV gen looks like a big failure across the board.
Q8 with terrible efficiency, iX with stupid interior design (cupholders below the main deck!!!) but great dynamics, EQE Suv with weird exterior design and questionable ergonomy.
Let's hope the Q6/Macan will redress the bar.
Sedans are in a much better shape. I would get an i4 immediately, if I wanted one.

The EQE SUV, EQS SUV, GLE and GLS are all built in Alabama. I had 1999 ML320, bought new and had for 18 years, was built in the same plant. The mechanical components are brought from Germany. A couple issues were with the ML, the air flow censor was placed where it gets dirty. Was replaced 3 times during those years. Once under warranty and twice I paid. It was $400 in Michigan and $600 in Texas. The door and hatch seals for the 1998 and first 1/2 of the 99 were hard that caused air leaks. The company who one the bid for them, gave MB harder ones than the ones presented. They were fired in the middle of 99 with so many complaints from customers. If you asked the dealer to replace them, they would under warranty. I did. No other issues for the 18 years. Oil change the whole 18 years every 10,000 miles. So, no issues with MB from Alabama.
