Thank you Thomas. as usual, a great thorough review. Hate the ambient lighting. With all those customizations on the screen, is there just an OFF, lol? Reminds me of a rented limo in high school. Great SUV though and E size seems right as opposed to the EQS, but obviously based on your needs.

Klar Nachts bestimmt toll. Ich überlege noch. Zum Glück Leasing immer nur 1 Jahr. I have been driving EQC for the last three years and I am struggling with Mercedes E and S range of EQ cars. They all look similar with only minor differences but considerably more expensive as you go from each class. I haven't seen enough to justify choosing and E or S over C unless you are really worried about the drive tech and promised range. In my opinion they should make distinct differences between the classes like it was in the good old days.

Compares favourably with the iX - much better looking (not hard), better range and more trunk space. But the hyperscreen is ridiculous, the only reason is MB to say it has more inches than BMW and Tesla. Shame the charging port is on the right. If you come from a hybrid with left port then you have to hope your home cable is long enough.

I've watched and enjoyed this video plus the other video you made 53 AMG vs 500 4Matic AMG line. I'm attracted to the EQE model, especially the AMG53 model. We looked at the EQS but found it much too large for European roads. However, having checked several online sites it's been impossible to locate an EQE SUV. On the official Mercedes webpage, only an AMG 43 is listed. ( delivery time??? ) Do you know of any reason ( apart from the so-called chip shortage ) why EQE SUVs are in such short supply?

Im Konfigurator ist er verfügbar jedoch nicht in Zusammenhang mit dem Hyperscreen. Nur ich kann mir nicht vorstellen, dass für 8150 Euro kein 3 D dabei sein soll im linken Bildschirm des HS. I do quite like the styling of this one especially without the AMG-line, and in my book one big upside it has over the more expensive EQS SUV is for whatever reason, Mercedes allows you to get ventilated seats in the EQE and EQE SUV if you go for Artico leatherette. In their more expensive models you have to get full leather for seat ventilation, which makes no sense to me.

It's insane that we have to have everything reset at each start just because the manufacturers would cheat otherwise. On the other hand, is it cheating if the car should be driven in a more eco friendly mode? And all these chimes for speeding etc that has to be there and then they "fix it" with a button to silence it and that is okay?! Idiocy.
For some reason my year-old BMW iX1 doesn't chime when speeding and retains the adaptive recouperation setting between starts. Thank god.

Nice review, again. Not a fan of MB design at all but the car seems nice still. The only thing I'd say is - the designers that put "non-integrated" cockpit panels (odometers, central navigation) that look like a carpenter had 5 minutes to cut and afix some flat board into the car (no matter the brand) should be sent to jail. It's soooo ugly and looks just like a cheap and fast solution. Nothing premium about it. And while about it, I don't appreciate oversized glossy screens either. It makes screens dirty and touch functions are bad for safety anyway. "Give me my volume button back!"

I would like the hyperscreen but did not like on the right side i could not do anything on it if i am alone in the car.

I personally don’t like the side steps on ANY of the Mercedes SUVs. It may serve for aero purposes but on vehicles like the GLE 53/63 and GLC, it seems pointless based on their step in heights. If Mercedes did more power running boards that tuck away when not in use would seem more fitting for a luxury brand.

Thank you very much for your interest in this topic. I also bought cars with animal skin leather seats before I did my research and got to know the industry. The most important thing is: With today's modern materials, you have nothing to lose, just to gain. You achieve the same kind of luxury and comfort or even better while having the same or better durability with less impact on humans, animals and the environment.
You can use fabric/cloth, microfibre or leatherette. They can be made from recyclables (e.g. from PET-bottles or old fishing nets) or even from plant-based materials (like Pinatex from pineapple leaves or Desertex from cactus fibre or the mixed-plant-based Mirum). Or the Polestar 3 e.g. is using pine oil. And even if you still create a leatherette seat the classic way with petroleum base without a recycling share, the amount of oil being used for that is very little in comparison to how much oil is used for other car parts or how much oil is burned for fuel or heating. By ditching animal skin leather from car interiors, the amount of emissions (CO2e) is reduced by 85 (!) % (www.press.bmwgroup.com/africa-dom-easteurope/article/detail/T0403389EN/on-the-market-from-2023:-bmw-and-mini-models-with-vegan-interiors?language=en). So it is the most important thing you can do to make car interiors more sustainable.
      Another interesting article is here:
      www.collectivefashionjustice.org/articles/is-vegetable-tanned-leather-sustainable-lets-do-some-leather-myth-busting#:~:text=Often%20listed%20as%20a%20'pro,the%20method%20of%20tanning%20used.
A good example for high-end luxury with ventilated animal free seats is the BMW X7 with Sensfin: th-cam.com/video/1pRNkW9nrrw/w-d-xo.html
New leatherette materials can be superior in every aspect: th-cam.com/video/u94YXJ72UTA/w-d-xo.html
More and more natural materials are rising: th-cam.com/video/nRSsXEnwHDo/w-d-xo.html or th-cam.com/video/S1aNZeoatmE/w-d-xo.html
Also check out what the animal skin leather industry tried to with our channel: th-cam.com/video/nP_CvLlaFlI/w-d-xo.html
For seeing how the animals are being treated and transported in the global leather industry, watch this footage: th-cam.com/video/tkjCAmq1_8E/w-d-xo.html
Note that the footage is genuine and was recorded by a highly decorated investigative journalist in Germany I know myself personally.
Depending on the animal skin grade, the animals are specifically raised for this matter. However even if meat is the first misuse case, the hide remains one of the most profitable body parts. That means: If manufacturers put animal leather in a car and you demand it as a customer, you give your money to an industry that earns money by oppressing humans, animals and harms the environment, you make them more profitable. Alternatively, you could support industries with your wallet which try to improve the sustainability of materials. Also, if you turn the argument around to "meat is the waste of the leather industry" you realize that it doesn't make sense (and is ethically doubtful) to discuss the priority use of individual body parts of mammals. Mind experiment: You are getting slain down or even murdered on the street; would it matter to you if it was for your smartphone or for your purse?
We cannot change what we have bought in the past, but with more information and compassion we can change how we decide in the future.

The generally very disadvantageous body shape of the pudgy tank looks much more harmonious than that of the e-limousines, at least visually. However, beautiful is still different.
Unfortunately, the trunk is also too small to offer an alternative to the sedan.
The absolute knockout criterion is the interior, though. Visually, I still like Mercedes' interior much better than the competition, but the really lousy steering wheel and a lack of high-quality controls that can be operated blindly even while driving then clearly outweigh the vehicle's weaknesses.
I want a vehicle that gives me pleasure. That one would frustrate me again with every drive. Mercedes remains unbuyable.

Good review, thank you! Here goes my problem with Mercedes EVs: they've lost focus. It's so overengineered it does not make any sense. The door handles would start to annoy you after one month, and the hyperscreen for 8k EUR? WHY? To look at your pet's picture while driving? LOL. So, my problem with them is, that EQE SUV with similar figures as GLE SUV Coupe (horsepower, trim line etc.) is so friggin expensive! In Czechia, GLE SUV Coupe with a parking camera etc. would set you back a little over 2,5 mil CZK (110k EUR), whereas this blob on wheels would be 3,5 mil CZK. Who opts to buy it is entirely beyond my comprehension, especially if the sunroof cannot be used at higher speeds due to annoying sound! BTW, what is a higher speed? This car cannot go fast, so is it speeds over 100 km/h? If so, the designers must be stripped of their Christmas bonuses for at least five years.

Nothing is impressive about a car/architecture that was designed as an ICE vehicle to making compromises converting it to electric drive unit with batteries. This tech and manufacturing is from 2012 at best. Just a bunch of lights to mask MBs huge engineering weakness of EVs.
