- We just bought the brand new 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQB250+ electric EV. In this video we review it and share all the things we like and hate about this electric SUV. We drove this EV back 1000 miles cross country so this will be a good owner's perspective. It honestly surprised us and there are some serious issues that hold this car back. (EQB 350 owner, so I'm being a bit defensive :) The front seats can be extended forward to support longer legs, that's been MB design for decades. This is an SUV and not a van, so the third row is obviously for kids, no point getting it if you don't have any. The complaint about the range is partly ok - as it does have noticeably less of a range than a Tesla -, but realistically how often do you drive that far anyway..? And if you do, after 200 miles you should take a break anyway and refill at a fast charger in less than half an hour. I fully agree on the brakes - there is too much room where nothing happens, and then it's very strong. The comfort and quietness make up for anything in my opinion, no need for a car that gets me several seconds faster to a speeding ticket :)
He said in the video he is 6 foot 6 so most people with knowledge would realise the back seats are for kids or smaller people. Unfair point they made on that so I agree with you completely.
That saod, as always you guys do a great job testing these things and giving us all honest feedback on the experience of owning this automobile, and you do it with as much fun as you can

Such an awful review. He complains about the middle seat, I fit 2 child seats and a 3rd adult in the middle with plenty of leg and head room. He complains about the back row BUT fails to mention its only for kids or as Merc states ON THE DOORS "5.4" max height. He complains about everything but fails to mention anything 😂..... I own one and thats how I know this review is bs. The range - I get 270-290 miles in the summer and 220-240 in winter and also depends how you drive. I wish people who did videos like this state the whole facts. The guy even hates the "start/stop" button 😂😅

Also I think brakes are an essential part, no matter how good the technology I always feel your natural instinct to brake is stronger than techs. If someone was to step out in the road then you go to brake and it’s not there just doesn’t seem safe.

electric volvo also has no start/stop it recognises the key and turns on automatically when you sit in the car
can you explain the $7500? Did they take it off the price, or is it a tax rebate? That many with higher incomes would not qualify for
I own this car and am very happy
I'm in the market for a 7 passenger as I have 3 children. I tried the model Y and my 8 year old who is tiny had her head against the glass when on her booster. We didn't have that issue in the EQB. The brakes issue does concern me though.
Is there any other options for 7 passenger in this price point? Sure the EQS suv or X look but they come in at double the price.

I sell Mercedes-Benz in Tulsa. I wonder why you would buy the EQB 250 instead of the 300 or 350. I have sold a number of these and my clients all LOVE them. I love your channels. I watch them all.

Thanks for the honest review guys! I love my Tesla Model Y performance, but my wife hates it. (Mostly because she says I accelerate too fast.) Was hoping this would be a good alternative for her. I guess I will look at the VW ID4 instead though I hear the software updates are not that great compared to Tesla.
Have you guys try the Jeep Wrangler 4xe? i know its an hybrid but i was curious. Have a great one.
EQS really is smaller than the normal S-Class, also I find the comfort not being on the same level. Would rather get a taycan sport turismo

The brake pressure is adapted in function of a lot of factors: how fast you release the acceleration pedal, the distance to the vehicle in front, regen braking is on auto, the next event coming from nav system together with your turn lights indicator, you use cruise control and you are driving down a hill, etc.

I wonder if the variable brake power is related to the car changing the regenerative braking level in real time.
When EV's are better overall I'll look at one but the ZERO tow issue for EV trucks and if you need HVAC for any time at all EV's are not for you.
Better for climates that don't require any additional load on those small battery boxes. And trips are short.

converting a gas car in to a EV, is like building/designing components to fit in a box. I know they do it to reduce costs, but it rarely works. You have to make to many compromises

For 17:30 All you need to do is press hard on your brake pedal, then lift your foot off. You'll see a “hold” icon on your screen, letting you know the Brake-Hold Function is currently on.
you should hunt for the audi etron gt! find a cheap used one or the rs etron gt if youre lucky

Sat in a EQB today, felt like a rock. EQA was surprisingly better.
unbolt the second seat and get some cushion added to the third row.
In Europe we have the ID3 and its better looking brother the Cupra Born. Even my 58kwh gets 3.5 to 4 so similar to a Tesla. The Cupra Born is also built for taller drivers as it sits on the same platform as the ID4. I'm 6ft3 and can sit behind the front seat set in my driving position which is better than the Tesla model 3.

I should have watched this video way back before I order the same model in last December . I am expecting delivery next week, after seeing this review , I am already pissed off with my selection
I rented one of those and it was an awful experience when charging, my time is more valuable than trying to find a charging station for it.
Model Y has the same issue with the rear seats and I hate it.
I think some of the lssue's with the car is it looks like the car is built off of a ice platform, they may say otherwise but just look at it.
I have quite the same EQB, came from a bmw 3 series… I like it much much more :-)

I am a bommmer , I would buy one , but in the condo Community I live in they have no plans to put charging stations in. And that would be here in the grand Strand of South Carolina. So what’s a guy to do if he wants an EV.
19:47 its a button for that on the center console…lol read the manual before you complain….😂 And you can use the voice command for almost everything.
I still think the "sweet spot" in this range is the GL450 4Matic mild hybrid. I just leased one last week, now if I can only find how to get into Carwash Mode.

You should have purchased the EQS which is a larger SUV than a EQB since the EQB comes from that family of the B-Class model.

Quit saying that you’re tall. Tall is 6’1”tall is 6 foot three. You’re a giant so most cars are not for you. They will not fit you, so I don’t take that part of the review serious at all.

23:00 Burmester, Mercedes-Benz soundsystem. But thats the standard system. The better version got silver frames on the speaker.
They do market it as 'Advanced Audio' and it's definitely better sounding than the standard audio that I had in my previous Mercs. But yeah, it's not the Burmester high end system.
I own EQB 300 4matic & like it. I don’t do road trips that much so range is fine. I charge at home. I had GLC before this one & EQB is fine. Looks like complaining for sake of complaining 😂
A suggestion would be to get a Mercedes turbodiesel. You still get near zero pollutants and a much higher range. My GLK 250 gets low 30's per gallon combined with a 17.4 gallons capacity. Use biodiesel for the best results.
Don't try to run your car in a closed garage. Zero pollutants my ass

I feel like the long seat cushion issue is objective especially if you 6'6"... most people are not that tall so they likely won't experience this issue. likely you knew that seating was gunna bar an issue for you when you went to buy it since most car manufactures don't make small SUV's for 6'6" people therefore u should have purchased one of the larger vehicles... idk maybe that's just my logic 🤷🏾♂
I hate one pedal driving. This is all personal preference and manufactures overall are getting this feedback.

Nailed it. I am on my 5th Tesla ( models S, X & Y with a Cyber Truck on order) and absolutely loved every one of them. When traveling I rent with Hertz to get a Tesla but this time they were sold out and gave me Mercedes as a supposed upgrade. The bottom line is the car totally sucks! You are right that they made it for people that want a gas car but don’t want to buy gas. No wonder people don’t like electric cars, while Tesla, lucid and Rivian make vehicles far and away superior to any gas options, the balance of the ev market is dreadful. Please keep up the good work.

i'm surprised about how bad this is. I previously owned a GLB (not an EQB) and it was much better than this. if anyone wants to buy a Mercedes EQ model, go for the EQE. I recently bought one and is far more better than the EQB
This review shows you guys barely did research before buying because you guys hate it so badly but own it. These things could’ve been identified during test drives and even week 1 of having it to return it.
That low coolant thing is weird! And the brakes…
I'd bet it's brake by wire. That would account for it.
It definitely is brake-by-wire because the car will determine whether to brake by regen, or actually apply the brakes. If you drive and brake carefully, it's probably 100% regen.
Guys, you are reviewing the “B” class Mercedes. It means it is COMPACT. No place for 6’ men. It must be small by design. Sorry to disappoint, duh. However, the small range is a really serious issue. Thanks for reporting.
first thing i'd do is swap the frontend for the gas powered counterpart (The GLB). I HATE the EQ frontends. the GLB looks much more tame and friendly if im honest

This isnunfair review, this guy is clearly above average tall. A person upto 6' tall can comfortably sit in the back. Front seats have extendable thigh support which he clearly didn't use. I think you guys have made this video for sake of it. Not a genuine review.

I mean cheapest 7 seat electric suv from mercedes, what did you expect?! Being 7 feet tall doesn't make it easier to sit in the back either. Some people are strange... set unrealistic expectation and then complain. Don't get me wrong glb is not great, but you get what you pay for. If you want comfort, it starts at around 70k for gas powered, +20k for electric
