Not sure what Mercedes has been smoking lately when it comes to their vehicle design, but they need to fire whoever decided to have all their vehicles look like inflated eggs
I think his comment of “I think their best looking EV is the EQB because it’s a box” pretty much sums up all my feelings about Benz EVs. Nothing more has to be said… I look for these in the used market for 50K in a few years
They’ll probably drop a bit lower than that too. This is one ugly (on the outside) car and the range is disappointing for a 90kwh battery. There’s a lot of better options for the money out there.

@JayTheSpeaker all EVs suffer in cold weather and the real world range of Teslas is pretty much par for EVs in regards to their rated range. Either way, the Supercharger network is still quite a bit ahead of public charger networks.
The car and design grew on me a lot since they were released to the market. Especially the higher spec versions, I will order one! Thank you for the review.

DOESNT IT SEEM THAT WAY?! I keep hearing these manufacturers "say" duhhh, real people don't use a frunk. Well I would if I didn't have to walk past it, open my driver door with my hands full and pull a latch under my steering wheel then close or walk back around my drivers door and then have to snake my hand under the hood to unlatch it and lift it up 💀 the new EVs that do offer a frunk make it so tedious to access then get lippy about people not using it. You don't say?!

300+ miles for the 350 model is not abysmal. 260 miles for the 500 is definitely acceptable. If I want to drive cross country, I would definitely rent a vehicle and leave mine home garaged.

MB will sell plenty, but this is not an ideal setup. These cars will not age well when it comes to styling, and I cringe to think about the nickel and diming for maintenance with this car long-term. It's flashy, but flashes like this burn out sooner, rather than later.
It may not get old to the tester doing the constant acceleration but it gets old to me watching it. I would like to see someone drive the car normally. And I can't stand the fake noises. Why have a quiet BEV just to turn on propulsion noises the car is not actually making? As for the car, it's a smaller EQS in terms of appearance. Russian nesting dolls.
I disagree with you, Sofyan. I don't usually like Mercedes cars (or BMWs for that matter) but this EQE is a stunner in my eyes, like the Ioniq 6. I feel as if it is reviving some of the streamlined look of cars like the Tatra 603 or the Porsche 356.
I wish I felt the same but this car looks terrible to me. The shape of the headlights looks dumpy and down-market along with the shape of the whole car. Generally love Benz vehicles, but they phoned this one in.
@@pacmanc8103 The swoopy melted looking shape of the headlights is probably the worst design element of this for me, but I'm not a fan of the egg shape of the entire car either. Just looks too 90's Ford Taurus to my eyes, but at least the interior is typical top notch Mercedes. Otherwise I wouldn't even consider this over virtually any EV rivals.

For when you want the difficult ingress/egress of a sedan with the top-heavy nature of an SUV with no more passenger room? Gee, I wonder why they sell 7% as many wagons as they do sedans and less than 2% that of the equivalent SUV. That sure is a mystery.
My Bolt goes the same 260 miles with 25kw less batteries. So the Benz has a great drag coefficient but I guess the fancy stuff inside sucks up a ton of electrons...
The EQE350 4matic get's 564 lb ft from its dual motor setup but the EQE350+, which has a single more powerful motor, just gets 391 lb ft despite having the same power output. That's the model he's referring to.

I kinda like the sealed hood. It’s gonna change this systematic mechanics "pop the hood" culture and channel owners to real professional specialists for service and maintenance. In the dawn of EVs, it’s better to start with a strong foundation in the driving community, especially with second hand markets that’s not as well regulated as the brand new/dealership environment. This EV alone is so complex, I wouldn’t let any untrained mechanics lay their hands on it.
I just don’t see how the pricing for these cars is sustainable. $90-100k for an EV is insane. I get it’s a mid level luxury car but that price point will make it unattainable for 98% of the population. A $1500/mo car payment is just stupid.

Eww . These EQs looks like the cab forward Chrysler cars of the 90s. The raked windshield and huge dash doesn't make for a good driving experience. Styling wise, the a pillar post makes this look like a jellybean. The rear will always look like an early 2000s ford escort. Interior looks too stylish when it debuted, now it looks tired. Too disco. Looks like an out of style suit.
It's insanely high tech, which I love, but there is literally nothing attractive about this design. Especially at this price point. Look at how STUNNING the Lucid Air is. For a legacy brand like Mercedes to have such a weird flop of a design is really sad. Especially when they've released such gorgeous cars in the past.
You do realize that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, right? Many, including me, find the car modern and beautiful. For some reason, I get the idea that Benz did a bit of marketing research prior to giving a green light on the design.

All E-cars are glorified golf carts. Why would I spend three figures in a living room that needs to be juiced every couple of hours when doing highway speed in the summer in Texas. A self contained hybrid makes more sense to me than anything that needs to be plugged in (good luck finding a good plug).
Please stop making comparisons to this style of car with bev sport sedans! This is a luxury performance sedan. Compare apples to apples! What other luxury bevs can you compare with the EQE? That is the question!
No me gusta. Hard touch plastics, lackluster thunk, no front trunk, the window washer filler looks like an ash tray, feels cheap, looks dorky, really pathetic range and I'm only 11 minutes into it. You still haven't covered the sound of the horn yet.

It doesn't matter. You drive electric cars mostly in the city. You don't buy an electric car as the only vehicle if you need to go for longer trips.

the side-profile of the EQE is identical to the 9th generation Honda Civic, once u see it you can't unsee it.
I see more 20 year old Ford Taurus. Can't get with this design at all, an unfortunate fail from MB.
