@@Maidiac it is not a painting on the wall its on the floor leaning against the chest wich is behind it. but well beside that as i said outside the "barn or cabin there was 3 hostiles they were standing close to some stairs if i recall :D and very close to the religion ambassador. sorry i would of taken a pitcher or something but ^^
man I picked some random purple sword that deals 400 DMG nothing so far has come close haha wish I knew where I got it !, also make sure you have two points on intuition, and 2 points on endurance, these are the stats to get best armour I believe, it is found in the Saint Matheuws Quest !
Old Serena has a ton of Lv1 locked chests you can't get if you don't get lockpicking the first time around. The loot is kinda randomized based on your level and your intuition as well. And since you can't get more than 3-4 levels in this tutorial section, you can't get as much out of it. Also 'disguises' used to sneak into places can be used to exploit the AI, if you stand still behind them in a 'unwanted' zone and change outfits of any piece (basically for Nauts, 3 pieces of sailor items), you become 'hostile' to them and can target them and backstab them (inflicts tons of damage and can one shot early on)... Don't mind the negative reputation early on like -1s, you can regain them really fast when you do quests and boosts by +3~4. Also, if you get by without fighting in the tutorial section, you basically don't get any EXP out of it. Skill checks to 'progress' quests doesn't seem to affect the amount of EXP earned, but may affect rewards in 'slight' ways (like reputation).
"you can select a lower difficulty from the menu but you wont be my friend any more because you are a little bi-- " Thank you, that made my morning. Love your channel.
Friendly tip... Do not pick Lock Pick at the beginning of the game you can unlock all the locked chests in the starting area by wearing your First companion Kurt's armor. His armor has a mod which gives you +1 Lock picking. I also found a gloves by exploring everything in the city which gave me +1 Crafting.
@@opposedtuba6219 _ oh yea its called the Golden Gloves or something. I thought I looted it from somewhere because I believed you only got the weapons and armor form it.
@@Mr_DGrim You can go Lv2-3 science and max out Technical 'Trap' tree to basically be a grenadier and spam items on enemies to death. Item based 'damage' can only be buffed by skills in that tree, plus Accuracy Talents which boosts 'alchemy'. It actually doesn't take a lot of effort to make a cheese build... Stasis is insanely OP if used properly. Have a stack of 20-30 poison vials and stasis vials, toss 1 poison and stasis them and wait, if they are about to move, throw another stasis, and poison to re-add timer and watch them poison to death. Some of the AI are pretty stupid btw, the BATs especially if you engage in stealth mode from behind and stab them... They gain a 'tiny' bit of suspicion but never hitting red build up, meaning they NEVER ever turn around to look at you, leaving you free to stab them all to death.
Just bought this game and maybe played like an hour. Almost didnt buy it because of I heard in a review that it was easy and you just melt through enemies. So, I put it on extreme, and died to the 1st 3 enemies like 10 times. Lol. Made me hery happy that it was challenging. Difficulty is very important to me in an RPG. 90% of the fun is progressing in skill, and killing a tough enemy that's killed you a hundred times.
The details... remember when you used to buy a game and it came with a little booklet on the inside that showed you how to play, directions, maps n such.
Just invest in accuracy and guns and all you do is sidestep enemy attacks (there is no limit to how many times you can dodge) and spam your rifle. Everything dies. I also am experimenting with and really liking my rifle/stasis build. :D
Hope they make a DLC for this game. Like heart of stone , or blood and wine . Could address some of the problem of the game. And give a hole new experience for player's. Like The Witcher or Dragon age Inquisition. What do y'all have to say about it??👍🤙🤔
ty for the tips, i started playing last night, still derping around the capital city of Serene before heading for the ship :P a few small mission things kick off there, and i had fun doing them.
Given Spiders' rather middling track record I kinda expected this game to suck. But it's pretty damn good. This has been a very good year for indie RPGs.
I noticed the same issue, you basically have to chug mana potions if you want to be a ranged caster. Because of that melle is better overall for dealing damage. To me it seems this game was made for melle, and the magic part is more for some watered down flavor to give some semblance of a class style.
Ive been playing this and normal was too easy so went hard. After trying a few builds into the game my favorite build is a cleric one using the maces and the healing / armor magic and stasis. Putting traits into strength endurance and willpower. I got an amulet that gives +8 seconds to stasis magic and using the AOE stasis that uses a maxed furry bar I can place a group of enemies in stasis for enough time to take out a few of them before it breaks then single target stasis one or two while companions and I whittle down another. Crowd control is very nice for taking on harder difficulties. Then the maxed healing magic so it affects your team heals some armor AND cures poison is extremely useful especially on enemies that do poison damage. That damn poison damage can really eat into you even if your dodging and blocking most attacks. With talents i found lockpicking is kind of meh because the loot you get from chests is also kind of ok but not necessary. I recommend vigor first because without it you do not regenerate life or mana outside of combat. So one point in that first. But if you really want to lock pick all the chests in the starting area then lock-picking first. intuition is pointless because you get a hat that gives you +1 intuition and other helmets don't make that big of an impact on your defenses so i just use the +1 intuition hat through the game. Though now that im 22+ i might get a point in intuition and ditch that hat except when i want to put it on for possible increased loot or salvage. Not too far into the game you will start getting crafting materials that let you go to the crafting table or the islands first towns blacksmith so you can add bonuses to gear. What i do is I have a piece of armor with each stat bonus on it that i carry around. So if i come to something that requires 3 vigor i only need to have spent 2 points in vigor then i can equip that piece of armor to traverse something then put my main armor back on. Lock-picking, only need to spend 2 points on that to be able to open level 3 chests by swapping into a piece of armor then back. Want to make the best potions? Only put 2 points into science then swap on your science armor when you want to craft some potions then back to your main armor. So basically work to getting 2 points in everything and then swap out equipment when you need a 3rd point for something. Oh and capes in this game when you start getting them give you +1 charisma. Then im not sure how i did it weather via getting rep or what, but i have a ghost point in intuition so that with my hat on and only spending one point in intuition I actually have a 3 ranking in it. Crafting I dont see a need to put points in. There are gloves you get at the start that give you 1 in crafting which is all you need to craft quest items by putting them on when you need too. Then if you want gear improved just pay the blacksmith to do it. The game gives you plenty of materials and cash as you go if your not blowing it on buying gear every time you see something that is slightly better then what you have. I rarely buy armor or weapons and just go with what i find mostly. As for ranged in this game. Ranged magic attacks seem very under-powered early on, not sure about latter. But you go through mana so fast. Ranged guns because they require ammo you burn through ammo way to fast if you only do them. I think guns are more for interrupts and possibly stripping armor and only meant to be used situational like. I also wish to agree with the video about upgrading your melle weapons to focus on armor stripping buffs. Being able to strip a powerful enemies armor in a couple hits is godly. Because once their armor is gone they get stunned and staggered easier. They also take more damage. Another thing not mentioned in this is you can assassinate enemies from behind. if you sneak up n enemies it will give you an attack que. Hit the button and you will stab the enemy in the back doing a LOT of damage. Depending on the level of the enemy you will kill them outright. Then depending how close you are to other enemies of its group you can sneak away without alerting them and then sneak up on another and stab it. if you one shot kill them that is. If you dont then they all get alerted. but ive gone up for some fun and one shot assassinated an entire group by sneaking up on each one. However because I think they were weak enough to assassinate i could of killed them all faster just by fighting openly. But it can be useful in missions were your trying to sneak through and need to remove one enemy from the picture without taking them all on. I'd also like to add that i dnt think roll or lightning dash are needed. They are fun but i have no issues dodging stuff without them. This games dodge system is broken because if you hit the button to dodge your actually immortal for the couple seconds of the dodge. Ive used it when a giant boss is pounding on me to avoid damage. i just spam the dodge button tell im out of the hit zone.
Magic + Technical makes Extreme a little easier. Storm is just too strong; the ability to CC multiple enemies at once and pick them off one by one is pretty OP. Lay down 20 traps, poison bomb + elemental + magic + stasis bomb. Mobs don't have a chance to counteract. Nadaigs are tricky, but they're easy to manage if you know how to LoS and can time your dodges right; they have telegraphed and predictable abilities. You also have to kite them and keep moving. Weaving is important because the attack animations take forever.
Heres a tip if your just starting a new game and want all the loot but you're eyeing a different talent thats not lockpicking. Your companion Kurt's armor has +1 to lockpicking. You can trade armor with him in the tutorial section of serene and open all of the locked chests, all without investing in lockpicking! Get your loot and enjoy the talent point in a different section (i went with carisma but i would suggest either science or intuition, you can find a set of clothing with +1 to craftsmanship later and the starting gear is good enough for the beginning sections of the game)
I bought this game a while ago on Steam. But it just sat there in my library doing nothing. Just this week I started to play it and I’m really enjoying it. The game has a sort of ‘dumasesque’ feeling to it. Fighting that tree monster thingy in the Port of Serene was a bit of a shocker. 😅 Didn’t expect anything that big after fighting mundane thugs here and there. I guess the best is yet to come.
So you gave money as a present order and you have to wait till after we all have 10 hours into the game? Thanks for giving devs the OK on shit dlc games.
One problem I have had with combat so far is the Camera, it doesnt follow me at a fixxed distance. If I dodge backwards I go right out of the frame and cant see my character any more. Same if I am up against a wall, the camera angle floats behind the wall and I cant see anything.
regarding lockipicking. Both kurt and vasco's armor start with a +1 lockpicking. I am positive you can get all the chests in Serene just with one point. so if you see a chest, equip somethign else to them, use their armor to open it and then just trade it back.
Thanks click4gameplay. I clocked this game because of your channel, and I really appreciate the work you've put in to keep people up to date with it. Good show.
Thanks for the video. I pre-ordered Greedfall on PS4 but that comes out tommorow in the USA, so i also bought it on steam today so I could play. So far it's an excellent game.
My order got delayed by a day... Gotta wait until tomorrow. Your video has made me lean towards two handed blades, whereas before I was leaning towards magic.
I saw Nirvana in Philly at the Armory 6 months before Kurt died. After 100s of concerts its still #1 (and I'm glad I still got the ticket stub) Nirvana rocked live!
i played 70% of the game with the same sword and armor and other things without upgrading companions on extreme, completed every quest the only one i did not was the doctor pages i missed a couple of them but i can tell you i had hard times i was angry and happy at the same time and that tree boss on extreme gave me a brain damage D:
I watched several GreedFall tips/tricks videos and this one blew them out them of the water. Always much appreciated and you never cease to disappoint! Looking forward to future videos :)
Is there a difficulty that lets you automatically win. Also known as "Game Journalist's" difficulty. Even easy mode would be too hard for game journalists and would be "disrespecting players."
If the leveling tops out at 90, then you should be able to get most of the skills, abilities and talents. By the end of the game as long as you take your time and don’t speed run it, you just have to decide what you want to do first and where your power focuses based on your archetype. I noticed that as a mage, even after unlocking melee skills the effects were not the same as a warrior class initial build.
PROTIP You dont need to pick lockpicking. You can either just wear Kurt(?)'s armor OR break it down(save first!) for the obsidian, allowing you to place lockpick+1 on your armor.
ALSO you can get +1 crafting from dlc gloves and +1 intuition from dlc hat I think thats it. I would choose crafting then with +1 craft gloves, ou have +2 craft right away ez to make good gear then switch to +1 gear when u need it
I actually had no issue with lack of crafting materials at all throughout my play-through and i sold every piece of gear i didn't make use of...also literally the only thing i ever needed to spend money on was pure iron ore for upgrades....everything thing else i had in over-abundance from looting everything
I just bought Greedfall on Steam. Very excited to finally play this game. Edit: Your videos are very good and highly informative so I subscribed to your channel :)
I play a gun-mage. Pretty unique! So no melee at all and I craft my potions and ammunation. Very nice. I know not any game that let's you do this. Range with guns and magic. Fun.
Guides like this one are EXTREMELY RARE in the current era and I appreciate the effort you put into it. I started playing this a while back as a Mage on Normal mode and I ended up quitting because I got sidetracked. Now that I'm back and restarting my play through I do have a couple of questions: (1) Difficulty: Does playing on "Hard Mode" provides better loot drops / more drops than normal? (2) Attributes: Does Strength and Agility BOTH buff DMG of 2 handed weapons? or do they only work on their corresponding weapons? (Ec: A Long Blade with STR and AGL attributes ) (3) Talents: assuming I could reach 3/3 using followers and armor skills, what are the minimum Talent points I need to spend for each Talent?
I really REALLY want to buy this, but I am on the edge. Does it play like Dragon's Dogma? Is it more like The Witcher series? Does it play more like Dark Souls? I have played Technomancer and Bound by Flame and enjoyed them but was not worth the money unless it is on Sale.
No, it has no similarities to Dragon's Dogma combat. If I would have to make some comparison, it feels like upgraded Witchers 3 combat. I really like it, tbh. Greedfall is leagues better then any other game that came from this studio that's for sure.
So I've been playing on normal difficulty. It is somewhat challenging not to challenge. I may consider going to a hard mode. But I feel like the companions or Useless AI. And they go down way too fast. The crafting system is pretty nice. I'm one of those people that would never Play extreme mode. Because my controller probly would go out the window.
Dragon spirit you’re not wrong about the companions... They only thing they’re good for is keeping enemies occupied, but even when they’re doing that they usually just get in the way lol.
I'm sad that there isnt a rogue or thief class, but the combat, sneaking and lockpicking is in there so they could have very easily added it. Also the charisma system and traps. It seems the build potential is there but without an actual rogue/thief class. Seems like an opportunity was squandered :(
Will I be able to come back to the old continent to pick the loot that i missed? I didn't unlock lock picking at the start so i couldn't get a lot of loot that required lockpicking
Don't worry. There's not much going on in Serene. You'll have plenty of loot on Teer Fradee. But locking is really, really useful because you'll find locked chests everywhere.
Love your videos. I swear i always get you and RPGDivision confused as you both have similar accents and channels focus on the same thing. Anyway keep it up!
In Technomancer, I despirsed the "reset" of opponents when you were moving a bit too far from their "spawn". It destroyed immersion so much I gave up on the game. Greedfall is from the same developers and I've heard there also was a mob reset. Because of this I didn't bought the game. Is this something you noticed in the fights?
too bad there is no pvp though would love to challenge you! great tips! starting my game next week. btw did you play souls games? Stay safe & take care.
You can use kurt armor at the beginning to open chests that require level 1 lockpick. His armor give +1 lock pick if im not mistaken
How would I go a about do this. And thanks. I’m just starting this game
A life saver. Thx

Pistol/rifle is a third weapon slot, you can have two weapons equipped (including a ring) aswell as a gun.
Thank you so much! My copy won't arrive until this evening but I am HYPED.
Things are about to get dicey .
Top marks for the video and editing a lot of hard work has gone in to the making of this very good guide.
Thanks a lot for noticing that buddy. It did take a lot od work, but I enjoyed doing it.
Dude same when I saw "more greed less fall" I thought the game was gonna have microtransactions lol
4:20 You know that if you take armor from Kurt, u could open it? Because it has +1 to lockpicking (sorry for my english)
My order got delayed by a day... Gotta wait until tomorrow. Your video has made me lean towards two handed blades, whereas before I was leaning towards magic.
This is the first time I'm using a keyboard and mouse to play a fighting souls like game so normal is plenty hard for me.
Also magic is fucking awesome especially once you get the lightning dash ability
Greatsword builds are rediculous powerful
Damn this game actually looks really fun. Combat looks pretty cool too. Hmm I think I will give this game a try. Thanks for showing this game.
its worth every penny ! side quest are loooong ! and quite intriguing lol, not your usual average quest in most open world games !
OpenWorldGamer thx buddy. I will go buy☺️👍
I love the Gothic soundtrack :D Great video !
"but you won't be my friend anymore because you're a little bit"
?!
A LITTLE BIT WHAT?! DON'T LEAVE ME HANGINGGGGG
"But you won't be my friend anymore because you're a little bitch."
Just bought it gonna play later tonight
2h Wepon + Stasis is op and the storm skill and heal hahaha magic swordsman! especially when you get the wepon from clearing the coin arena! hahaha
PROTIP
You dont need to pick lockpicking. You can either just wear Kurt(?)'s armor OR break it down(save first!) for the obsidian, allowing you to place lockpick+1 on your armor.
ALSO
you can get +1 crafting from dlc gloves and +1 intuition from dlc hat
I think thats it.
What I've learned from this video, is that I need to remember everything I learned from Technomancer. is this game made by the same people?
Yes
I just bought Greedfall on Steam. Very excited to finally play this game.
Edit: Your videos are very good and highly informative so I subscribed to your channel :)
I play a gun-mage. Pretty unique! So no melee at all and I craft my potions and ammunation. Very nice. I know not any game that let's you do this. Range with guns and magic. Fun.
Is there full faced helmets in the game?
I also want to know this
I know that the tribal factions sell pretty cool armored masks, also theres plague doctor masks.
I think theres closed ones I vaguely remember seeing some heavy armour with closed faces in a video.
yeap ! , there are also some nice looking one from the natives !
I got legendary merchants clothes and I am level 10 and I now feel overpowered in defense
Great tipps and tricks. Thanks ya. Good vid as always.
Sounds good. Mine will be in the mail today!
I am torn between technical and magic for my starting class
I play this game for 4:00 pm to 11:50 pm since it’s a big map
Guides like this one are EXTREMELY RARE in the current era and I appreciate the effort you put into it. I started playing this a while back as a Mage on Normal mode and I ended up quitting because I got sidetracked. Now that I'm back and restarting my play through I do have a couple of questions:
(1) Difficulty: Does playing on "Hard Mode" provides better loot drops / more drops than normal?
(2) Attributes: Does Strength and Agility BOTH buff DMG of 2 handed weapons? or do they only work on their corresponding weapons? (Ec: A Long Blade with STR and AGL attributes )
(3) Talents: assuming I could reach 3/3 using followers and armor skills, what are the minimum Talent points I need to spend for each Talent?
good video, I feel like I'm done with the game without even playing it and not necessarily in a negative way lol.
Click4Gameplay thank you, I’ll buy it now.
is it like the higher the difficulty the higher the chance you have higher rarity equipment to drop?
Thanks...now I'm getting this!
Subscribed!! Great Job and Thank You for your hard work.
Can you make a hybrid class like warrior that uses magic too?
Spiders is the new Bioware!
definitely !
Amazing video, you earned a subscribe my friend, well deserved!
I dont now but extreme for me was hard when needed to fight aganst bosses the rest its pretty easy if you have good level gear
I just started playing on extreme on technical and I have no clues what skills I should be using
This really helped me thank you
I need some challenge, I'll play on Extreme for sure, btw nice video and tips
I'm sad that there isnt a rogue or thief class, but the combat, sneaking and lockpicking is in there so they could have very easily added it. Also the charisma system and traps. It seems the build potential is there but without an actual rogue/thief class. Seems like an opportunity was squandered :(
Excellent video! Downloading now via Game Pass PC. :D
Locks are easy. Just exchange you vest with the captain. In the very beginning of the game
Thank you, this was a great tips video
I like the game. I just hate how we cant manage aggro during combats
Will I be able to come back to the old continent to pick the loot that i missed? I didn't unlock lock picking at the start so i couldn't get a lot of loot that required lockpicking
Don't worry. There's not much going on in Serene. You'll have plenty of loot on Teer Fradee. But locking is really, really useful because you'll find locked chests everywhere.
i wish spiders invest more one character models
I wonder if blade+magic is a viable build?
Yes. Get a blade with good fury generation. Then another with good damage. Fury attack can strip a lot of armor.
Do things ever get dicey in this game? Or do they stay at "about to get dicey"?
This phrase is so annoying
I really want to play this
not gonna lie but greed fall has the one of the best crafting system in the game
Crazy that this game has better combat than AC: Valhalla
Master-Baiter:) Nice ...Thanks C4G...Great guide:)
Love your videos. I swear i always get you and RPGDivision confused as you both have similar accents and channels focus on the same thing. Anyway keep it up!
Excellent video! Gives me some tips for my character.
It’s like a simplified Skyrim, Witcher, dragon age, and mass effect rolled into one.
For early lock picking just borrow Kurt's armor.
good tip !
I play on Hard, everytime I fight, my companions just gets wiped out one by one hahahahaha.... lol
1 piont on alchemy/ science allows you to craft a potion to revive them ! pretty useful sometimes !
This is a great game in very reasonable price 👍 a very cool rpg
Is there any multiple endings?
too bad there is no pvp though would love to challenge you! great tips! starting my game next week. btw did you play souls games? Stay safe & take care.
wait, that's the gotich 3 soundtrack
Don’t get lock picking. You can take your companions armor that have lockpicking +1 and use that
Can you be a Knight with a little magic spice?
