I has been playing with Siora and she's really and really helpful. Just give her good armors and an excellent sword, just give her the best you have in the inventory. She can recover your shields, healing and not only you, the entire team and she's helpful giving you good information about the natives in the island, most of the time you'll be with them, so Siora is the main supporter and the key of you and the team. By th eway, I'm mage and I almost immortal 😂😂 I really recommend it.
Stasis is quite literally the best ability I had in my first playthrough. I also unlocked Storm later on, which relied on Adrenaline rather than Magic, but is very useful for crowd control
I am playing as a full diplomat in this game, I am full carisma and my goal is to avoid any wars between any factions and trying to not kill any inocent people. This is hard as fuck but I use to choose my team mates based on which factions are involved in the current mision because they use to tell me side ways of doing the same quest without hurting their faction relationship, so if I can get to like my decisions for example Siora (natives) and Petros (Thelenne) at the same time then that means I am doing well if that mision involves their both factions. Also I recommend you all have at least one torso armour of each faction to use as disguise every time you need them, I have one armour maxed out and like 5 more stored with worse stats but that I only use to infiltrate in certain missions. I hope this advices helped you, I still have not finished this game but I am really enjoying it :)

@@Tururu669 I purchased this game about a month ago. The gameplay is pretty meh but the writing is exceptionally good with excellent VO, vast lore, and mission variance that is fantastic. I would highly recommend it.
Beautiful game. No problemo in the tech department. No crash, no bugs. Just play & enjoy. There is a lot of ways to play this. Brillant atmosphere, good strory, fun action.
Tip 14, for higher difficulties: play the game like a tactical RPG and PAUSE combat often to make decisions, choose your next actions, etc. It could save your life.
For all those people asking if the game is good, since it just became free with PS+ The answer isn’t so black and white, as the game has amazing elements and not so amazing elements. Keep in mind, it was an indie team that made this game and that alone makes it fairly breathtaking for what they achieved with their limited budget. The game can be extremely rough around the edges at times. Combat can be stiff and the game doesn’t hand hold at all. It won’t teach you everything you need to know at the start. It’s a lot of trial and error going into it. Leveling can be slow and some quests can take hours to do. It’s not open world, it’s more of a semi-open world similar to the original Dragon Age. Sometimes the world can feel bland and empty, which is something that kind of bugged me at times. There’s really not much to do out in the “open world” it’s more used as a traveling area. There’s plenty of good though. The story and dialogue is pretty damn good. The voice acting for 90% of the time, is actually amazing. I have no idea how they got such good voice actors for such a little budget. The characters (for the most part) are fun and have their own unique personalities. Some quests are really amazing, I can think of at least 5 off the top of my head. Sometimes the side quests are better than the main story quests, they really do shine a lot of the time. Leveling up and getting more armor pieces and weapons, is more fun than a choir. Meeting new characters and choosing dialogue options is also really fun in this game. All in all, it’s worth it even with its shortcomings. Especially when it’s currently free as of writing this.
When trying to figure out faction armor, on the bottom of the display next to its weight and price may be an icon with a coat of arms on it. That tells you what, if any, faction it counts as a disguise for. When beginning the game I personally recommend charisma or intuition as I was able to find potions all over the place when looting boxes and all quests have multiple possible approaches. Charisma helps you skip some parts of quests or get people to tell you things that normally you have to bribe them for. Intuition can also help out with some dialogue but the biggest thing it does is highlight crafting ingredients and lootable objects.
Thank you, Zoe! Just started playing and needed some tips. Ended up starting again, like I do in every RPG, and picked the sparkle hands after watching your character. Also picked science as I didn't before! Sounds much more useful.
I love the game idky some people are hating it was made by a small company and they did a fantastic job I want them to succeed and they can update the game so the problems you people cry about they can fix I honestly haven't had a single problem nothing is bothering me I love it
@@jakefarrell7031 I saw it's on game pass now. So I can try it out. I understand the graphics are extremely underwhelming, but is the gameplay and exploration good?
You don't need Charisma in the beginning, just go to the shop and buy a cape to wear for a +1. And take Kurt's armor when he joins your party, his armor has a +1 Lockpick. You also do not need to spend your early game points if it's not combat related, and since difficulty modes can be toggled in the menu, if you REALLY want to cheese the starting point (you can't spawn more enemies with hard or extreme mode in tutorial map), go Easy mode in tutorial to trivalize combat for the quick exp gain, and do quests rapidly if you are working on multiple character playthroughs, then go back to normal when you get to New Serena (Or Hard, since the game becomes easy once you get to lv15 early on by spamming arena).
Advice to choose the skill that allows you to craft potions at the beginning of the game is ill-advised. Most of the beginning of the game you want to have the lockpick skill. Unless you really suck at games or are on a higher difficulty
You can parry projectiles as well. If you parry with certain weapons against certain projectiles, it may still knock you down, but you don’t take damage and usually the projectiles that knock a parry would most likely be quite debilitating I landed.
Ive just started so idk if this is how it works the whole time, but charisma checks being a percentage chance always means theres people like me who dont care about wasting their lifes and will just reload saves until the check passes lol. So investing points seems unnecessary to me
I did't think this game would be that much fun to play I underestimated it big mistake, I recently got it on the PS4 luckily for me at around 50% off and is so much fun to play I would recommend this one without any feeling of uncertainty to anyone.
When i was still in Serene i brought a one handed sword called the Black Cutlas its really good and strong and helped me defeat higher leveled enemies. Hopes this helps someone
The torso outfits may not tell you specifically what faction they are but the small symbol next to how much it costs does, it's the symbol of the faction of that particular clothing
I actually had a ton of fun playing this game. And I can’t wait to see what happens in the future. I’m a dodge obsessed freak, though it makes my battles longer, at least I win in the end. So dodging is something I highly recommend.
The items you need for optional quest objectives in the intro part of the game (sleeping potion, brandy, metal dowels) can all be bought from the merchant if you aren't able to craft them
Ive played ffxv and tales series but this game is way awesome, every quest is intriguing battle system is so unique its so addictive i like the rifle build its hard at first but very rewarding at the end overall 10/10 for me
So, this is an old vid, but I see comments from 4 months ago, thus ppl still check it. My own tips would be (some are as noob as it gets, so no hate please ;) ) 1. Companion management - in a lot of situations, you can skip needing a particular skill if having the right companion for the situation. That goes for charisma/intuition in dialogues or science/craft in other situations, at least from what I encountered. 1b. Siora is probably one of the most useful companions, because you are dealing with the natives A LOT. Petrus is also very helpful in a lot of situations. In general, try to match the companion to the faction you are dealing with. 1c. It's generally a good idea to do companion quests as soon as you acquire them. 2. I did the full fight tutorial but it still took me half the game before I realised how to switch weapons X_x for PC, default is "V" 3. You can tell what faction an outfit belongs to by the tiny icon next to its' price. Blue/green is Bridge Alliance, red with yellow circle is Theleme, i think blue-white with fancy icon is Guards, blue white with golden coins is Congregation, Nauts I now don't rememeber exactly but sailor gear in general, and native gear is fairly obvious. Also, be aware, that in some missions you need to disguise the whole party, not just De Sardet. 4. Magic is OP XD 5. Upgrading armour: don't make the mistake I did (a stoopid one, yeah, but I did say those were noob tips) - putting the centerpiece on your companions' armor, the one that adds skill. It's a wasted resource, unless you plan on switching those armors onto yourself, in which case, remember, that you need Endurance for heavier ones.
Ooh, I don't like it when games use subtle audio cues with no visual equivalent. It's not good in a noisy environment, or if you're.. ya know, deaf. Seems to be something more & more games are doing though, perhaps simply to mix it up from the mainly visual style of the past?
Lol science as the first pick is crazy, the vigour or lockpickingskill are far more useful early on, but the biggest tip you failed to mention is to pay attention to the companions friendship bonuses, as some of them save you points, like the healer who also can give you +1 vigour just for being friendly to one another.
the music is actually one of the good points, it's done by Olivier Deriviere. (whose working on dying light 2) he's done everything from assassins creed 4: freedom cry to ObsCure, Alone in the dark (2008) and remember me
So some people know armour does have a way to tell what faction it’s in. At the very bottom of its stats (next to price and weight) is a crest of a different faction
Idk if it was a patch or not, but I say lockpicking is more important than science as you can craft basic potions without it and there are a lot of lv 1 lockpicking chests in the starting area before going to the island which is good for gearing up. Plus if you're lucky enough to get the material to craft the lockpicking decoration as well as starting with 1 point in lockpicking you'll be able to open lv 2 lockpicking chests right after arriving on the island cause the talent points stack which is quite handy
I only died once to the first boss, the lunge/crawl attack I wasn't expecting lol, that said it reminds me of Laurence from Bloodborne dlc just no fire or lava and less reach. And thankfully no annoying screaming, but yeah I thought its moveset was throw nail and try to slap me until it did its lunge/crawl attack
A video I should of watched before buying, I can say the game is intriguing ! A really fun strategic run type of game , going from heavy combat to Diplomat is a challenge too ! Thank you for the video it did help my gameplay. p.s. they way ya'll say "Inventory" very cool :)
Great game, I'd give it a 8.5 out of 10. Only issue is the "talent" skill tree. One talent every 5 levels keeps you from using 80% of the items. I do not recommend science like the video says. You will find TONS of potions in the many loot boxes around town. if you get lucky you can find a lockpick jacket and a charisma item but doesn't help with the item requirements. A lot of early wep/armor is +2 str, agi, wis, etc..
Charisma over science the numbers of times u can sweet talk ur way into a situation plus pick up extra reputation points cuz at the end of the day we’re supposed to be diplomats.
The game is absolutely beautiful do not get me wrong, the dialogue and cut scenes really do get you immersed into the storyline. But the combat is positively broken, playing on easy mode early on is definitely recommended. Playing on normal/hard, you’ll find that you’re allies will die often and early on in combat leaving you outnumbered and stressed. Parrying an attack is about the best chance you’ve got during combat, but you’ll see that once you parry an attack you’ve got little to no advantage to counter that attack because you get hit by an offensive attacker that you’re not even locked onto. When you’re outnumbered you’ll find that you’re getting attacked from all angles, and the camera angles are not up to par for 2021 gaming which is a big issue. Locking onto a target is non existent in this game, sometimes swinging into a crowd just hits the random guy/monster in the back or side whose got full armor and health. You really have to break down each opponent individually in this game or else you’re looking forward to a grueling battle with a bunch of health potion chugging. That’s another thing too, you hardly come across money and when you do it’s like 50 gold so buying potions is out of the question and guess what? Ingredients don’t respawn in this game so you’re literally working with what you got 🤷🏻♂️ that’s terrible considering the fact that you can die in literally two hits in this game. Taking a potion is also very stressful during combat, you’re getting attacked while you’re taking the potion, I’ve died multiple times just chugging potion and even times where I took a potion then right after because of the animation you’re character does received another hit and the potion I just took was wasted because it takes sooo long for you to use it. There are some opponents that just spam the same attacks😑 like the big bats you’ll come across, they just spit out poison and they’ll keep doing it. I spent about 10 minutes dodging these attacks not being able to get a kill because they just continuously spammed that same attack and trying to swing or shoot a bolt of magic at em just made me vulnerable. This game is truly a mess when it comes to combat, and it’s truly unfortunate because the game is really amazing but the combat is just way to annoying. I’d put it up there with Sekiro and Dark Souls gameplay it’s that hard. Yes there are ways to beat the game without fighting but what’s the fun in that? You’re experience comes from combat and other quests. Anyways, if you’re someone whose beaten this game and enjoyed it cheers to you bro but I for one am uninstalling.
Late, but yeah... There are this annoying bats, this shark-like creatures, some demonic Tauros (idk with what to compare them but they have horns), the root monster, an electric octopus/humanoid thing (on a side quest), other creatures that are weird but cool as hell... It's also cool the fact that inside a certain monster there are alfas or queens that are stronger and sub species whose attacks deal different damage and effects...
You can spam the dodge and parry buttons and you will never take direct damage. For Playstation, alternate x and o. Only AOE's can hit you. I learned this as I was on the last two quests on Extreme - the one with the corrupted guardians that kills you in 1-2 hits.
Greedfall looks amazing! having relationships with multiple different factions sounds cool, although I can't imagine I would ever side with colonisers over the native inhabitants of an area
I am not that far into it but a couple factions want to work with the natives in a peaceful manner but one out right wants to ruin them so u definitely won't be siding eith with that faction. Not going to say which but there was one cutscene where I met a character from a faction and j was like "yup I am going to kill him and screw over his faction when I get the chance.
thepayne78 hahaha, sounds like a big mood. I’m hoping to get the game after I’m done with exams in a couple of months, but I’ll look out for this cutscenes

I hope this advices helped you, I still have not finished this game but I am really enjoying it :)
hey friend, this game just got on Ps plus, if you see this can you answer me something?
is the writing good in this game? i'm not sure if i want to pick and i'm using this as a way of deciding myself
That Dragon age background music had me entranced, honestly tuned out what they were talking about to hear Lothering's tune 😂
I was checking the comments to see if anyone else realised this😂 background music was giving me mad nostalgia
Tip 14, for higher difficulties: play the game like a tactical RPG and PAUSE combat often to make decisions, choose your next actions, etc. It could save your life.
This music takes me back...
To Lothering and Haven specifically.
I was thinking the same thing. Very nostalgic feeling
I prefer the dwarven music. Roaming the city.
Very less people still remember the DAO music
@@erenYeager4eva I doubt that
Lothering Village theme from Dragon Age: Origins in the background. I knew it sounds familiar.
For all those people asking if the game is good, since it just became free with PS+
The answer isn’t so black and white, as the game has amazing elements and not so amazing elements.
Sometimes the world can feel bland and empty, which is something that kind of bugged me
at times.
I love this game so much! Bought it last week and been playing non stop ever since
you can call your companions to you at camp sites too and rest stops when you're traveling so you don't always have to go to your residence....
ohh these background old Dragon age Origins theme songs.. so nostalgic!!
Top of the evening my good people.
All weapons damage armor, magic bypasses it. heavy weapons do more armor damage naturally.
You can change your party members at Campsites as well.
Couldn't preorder this but gonna pick up a regular copy as soon as my classes are out tomorrow.
I have to wait until Thursday (pay day) really looking forward to it.
@@Jamboliar88 it's getting good reviews last time I checked Metacritic had a 7/8
*GreedFall is what Risen 3 should have been.*
Not just the tricornes but it reminds me of risen as well
haha i thought i was the only one, you are totally right, risen3 was one of my biggest dissapointment in gaming
It feels like dragon age mixed with risen but without all the problems risen had
Thank you, Zoe! Just started playing and needed some tips. Ended up starting again, like I do in every RPG, and picked the sparkle hands after watching your character. Also picked science as I didn't before! Sounds much more useful.
I love the game idky some people are hating it was made by a small company and they did a fantastic job I want them to succeed and they can update the game so the problems you people cry about they can fix I honestly haven't had a single problem nothing is bothering me I love it
Looked at the first reviews and immediately bought
Sorry no refunds haha
It got me too......regrets...
Is this game worth it?
@@j.c.5011 depends on what you want, if you don’t care that much about graphics or polish then yes totally.
The game is astounding!
That 2nd thing arena battle was a masacre. I died like 20 times before getting hang of it and succeeded.
I also forgot about fury. Thank you for reminding me. 🤣😂
Idk about your assessment on Charisma, I found that skill absolutely invaluable when dealing with other factions.
Ive just started so idk if this is how it works the whole time, but charisma checks being a percentage chance always means theres people like me who dont care about wasting their lifes and will just reload saves until the check passes lol. So investing points seems unnecessary to me
I decided which factions to side with within seconds of entering San-Mathaius or however it's spelt the first time.
This game is actually free on playstation plus this month
Just picked it up, it’s a fucking good RPG that is really underrated.
@@ayochill9716 I know! Definitely agree with you

@@sana17mi I hope so! My friend and I have a bet about which IP we’ll get information or release dates on first, MA or Dragon Age. 😂
I did't think this game would be that much fun to play I underestimated it big mistake, I recently got it on the PS4 luckily for me at around 50% off and is so much fun to play I would recommend this one without any feeling of uncertainty to anyone.
number 11. you can also use your block/counter button against range attacks magic or guns is does not matter
When i was still in Serene i brought a one handed sword called the Black Cutlas its really good and strong and helped me defeat higher leveled enemies. Hopes this helps someone
Love this Game and I was amazed when I found out that this was made in a small studio incredible... keep it up guys...
Had to put playback speed up to 1.25 - I’m sure Zoe is lovely but please pick up the pace on reading the script!
I did 1.5
Same.
The torso outfits may not tell you specifically what faction they are
but the small symbol next to how much it costs does, it's the symbol of the faction of that particular clothing
Some great tips thanx ... i just got Greedfall today . will certainly try a few of these ....
That timer mentioned at 6:35 is a big selling point with me.
An intriguing title by a small studio. Just finished redownloading. I'm going to resume my voyage to the world of greedfalls finally!
I actually had a ton of fun playing this game. And I can’t wait to see what happens in the future. I’m a dodge obsessed freak, though it makes my battles longer, at least I win in the end. So dodging is something I highly recommend.
1. Enjoy the game, its great and has an Amazing World. The story is great. Loved it from start to finish.
The items you need for optional quest objectives in the intro part of the game (sleeping potion, brandy, metal dowels) can all be bought from the merchant if you aren't able to craft them
Wrong about the disguises, it states via a picture in the description what faction it works for.
thank you Eurogamer, good tips.
My own tips would be (some are as noob as it gets, so no hate please ;) )
2. I did the full fight tutorial but it still took me half the game before I realised how to switch weapons X_x for PC, default is "V"
4. Magic is OP XD
You mean the visual cue of pulling a spike from its back before throwing it.
@@zipcc Yea, the one that looks just like every other attack wind-up it's got.
Lol science as the first pick is crazy, the vigour or lockpickingskill are far more useful early on, but the biggest tip you failed to mention is to pay attention to the companions friendship bonuses, as some of them save you points, like the healer who also can give you +1 vigour just for being friendly to one another.
Dragon age origins music :D
looked for this comment :P
the music is actually one of the good points, it's done by Olivier Deriviere. (whose working on dying light 2) he's done everything from assassins creed 4: freedom cry to ObsCure, Alone in the dark (2008) and remember me
The faction armors/disguises are shown by the sheild next to the amount of it.
I’m so excited! I can’t wait when the game finally comes to stores tomorrow!
Well glad to know I'm in good company as one of the people who the absolute shit kicked out of me on that first boss fight
Gameplay reminds me of oldschool Fable games.
Thank you for sharing that informative bit. I just bought GreedFall today.
Damn, i'm almost at the end and i didn't know about the doors! I always stop before and press action...
I just beat the game so I dont need this list. BUT I'm giving you a thumbs up any way. Great vid.
I comment at 1:05 of the video (i paused the video) as I hear in background some of the Dragon Age Origins soundtrack. Interesting.
A video I should of watched before buying, I can say the game is intriguing ! A really fun strategic run type of game , going from heavy combat to Diplomat is a challenge too ! Thank you for the video it did help my gameplay.
p.s. they way ya'll say "Inventory" very cool :)
Tip #9 is the best tip on the list
Thank you I needed this 👍 liked & subscribed
I had that same issue as you in 11 -_- So fun. Trying to figure out how to get past that now XD
Not to mention, if you need potions that badly, you really suck at the combat which is not hard to master at all.
Thank you for this guide. You're voice is so adorable, it made it that much better. ;) I just started the game today, so this is invaluable.
Great witty narration!
Charisma over science the numbers of times u can sweet talk ur way into a situation plus pick up extra reputation points cuz at the end of the day we’re supposed to be diplomats.
This. Is. Some. Very. Stilted. Delivery.
The potion thing got me playing this game on hard mode I didn’t get science until level 15 had to do shit half the time without getting hit at all 😭😂
The game is absolutely beautiful do not get me wrong, the dialogue and cut scenes really do get you immersed into the storyline.
Are there any enemies besides humans and wolf-bears? That's all I've seen in so many videos
There are flying bird like enemies, and well, giant beasts.
Good and informative work. Kudos & thank you!
Dragon age reborn. I hope the magic is worth it. I love mages... 😁
You can spam the dodge and parry buttons and you will never take direct damage. For Playstation, alternate x and o. Only AOE's can hit you. I learned this as I was on the last two quests on Extreme - the one with the corrupted guardians that kills you in 1-2 hits.
And that music from DAO love it
Greedfall looks amazing! having relationships with multiple different factions sounds cool, although I can't imagine I would ever side with colonisers over the native inhabitants of an area
Don't get me wrong though the factions that want a more peaceful relationship still want to take advantage of the natives.
thepayne78 hahaha, sounds like a big mood. I’m hoping to get the game after I’m done with exams in a couple of months, but I’ll look out for this cutscenes
i love how the background music is literally dragon age music😭
Playing as a diplomat thats really nice its new for me i liked the game its still better than cyberpunk
After the way the trailer portrayed the game, the start of the game was pretty underwhelming. Some boring mostly talking mission's but I've made my way to the island already and looking forward to exploring. Still very excited to play more.
This game feels thrown together
Armors do tell you which faction it is for. It's the small shield at the bottom. Each faction has their own shield.
You mean that tiny shield symbol? I found this tip before, but i don’t know if you are playing my PS via my tv screen, but big as it is, i had stand right beside my screen and look at that shield really closely to see what it looks like..
@@bevgordon7619 i played in on xbox on my TV and didn't have any issues seeing them in the menu. Also the shields for each faction are very different so it isnt hard to tell the difference even if you have a problem seeing all the detail if your TV is small
If mage/magic can bypass armor on enemies, why should anyone invest in the other classes?
Different play styles and not every one like throwing spells around.
You'll be doing the same amount of damage the whole time. If I use a mace and get rid of the shields , id do more damage than magic.
Magic tend to get Merc'd in close combat
Faction outfits patch shows to the left of the gold worth.
