      Burn in is probably not really an issue anymore in OLED, I can't speak for QD OLED but dead pixel on the edge of the panel after few years is a real issue for WOLED, you can search LG CX dead pixel as people are starting to experience this, including me. That's why I will never touch OLED again.

    Note : S90D has QMS support for the Apple TV 4K 3rd gen. I connected my Apple TV directly to the TV, and connected my 4K Blu-Ray player directly to my receiver to bypass the lack of DTS support. The S90D is a clear winner here.

    Yeah... I almost got the Samsung S90D; then I saw a bunch of image motion issues in-person and picked up the Sony instead. Videos online can only do so much. Go stand in Costco / Best Buy for a few hours looking at exact same content on the different screens if you want to really choose. Be careful with that -- a lot of TV demos do mostly camera pans for motion -- really watch for specific game and movie / sports humans in motion. You'll see for yourself.

    • @omc951
      @omc951 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      If you’re going to judge off the Costco feed and see them side by side, it’s important to note that Costco employees set up the TVs themselves and the settings are going to be varied. The “motion issues” you described don’t exist outside of aggressive out of the box eco, standard, and dynamic modes and can be turned off or adjusted inside these modes. If you look most sets from all brands are set up in a basic mode with motion interpolation all the way up which exacerbates artifacts in poor feeds like Costco built in feed and sometimes their own demo content.

    Sony has done little to improve its 8 series (XR80, A80) OLEDs since the a80J, and the implementation of Mediatek’s Pentonic 1000 has done very little to improve performance, not to mention its limited connectivity. I really thought Sony was going to use QD-OLED exclusively on midrange and premium OLEDs. Kudos to LG and Samsung for pushing the limits of its midrange OLEDs.

      This is my current issue with my A80J. Lack of connectivity via HDMI and after 2 years this thing is definitely sluggish. Personally, having seen all of them in store, the Samsung was my least favorite. Colors were WAY too saturated and just looked fake. The brightness was absurd and damn near eye searing. Then of course, there’s Sammy’s QC issues which are well known. I could never justify spending $2,000-3,000 with the fear that the TV can crap out in a year or two…
    For me, the LG strikes the perfect balance of colors and brightness. Its gaming features also standout massively and it does DTS and DV for physical media which I collect. Its full support of HDMI 2.1 across all ports is also HUGE! It’s also nice to see LG has caught up to Sony in image processing! LG is the clear winner here!
