- In this video I am showing how to disassemble the 320 and where to lubricate (with grease or oil) it. I have tried to make it as short as I can, but I tend to be a bit long winded...

Always remember - "Hope is NOT a Strategy!"
Yes, when cleaning the barrel, run the brass cleaning brush through the barrel starting from the Chamber end but never reverse direction while the brush is in the barrel. Brass is soft but continuous cleaning the barrel this way can damage the crown and rifling. Always go all the way out the barrel from the chamber end, then remove the brush and send it back again starting at the Chamber end. Always Clean the barrel in the same direction the bullet travels.
Nonsense if your brush ruins the rifling your using too hard of a brush.
Brass is softer than steel, it will not ruin anything. Your barrel isn't ruined by a bullet exploding and flying out at 1000 fps and the bullet can be fmj so brass at 1 fps won't harm it.
Drawback with grease it can cause issues in cold weather, I use either a dry lubricant like Strike Hold or wet lubricant called Weapon Shield. Need to be careful of the rear spring on the modular firearm unit as well.
"FROM THE CHAMBER END" x3...
Then he proceeds to pull the brush back out FROM THE FIRING END.
Excellent job!!! You hit all the bases!!
Best video on gun cleaning. 90 percent of malfunction come back to the magazine. 👍🏻👍🏻
Gun cleaning starts at 5:02 thank me later
This video should have been a shorter than 10mins.
Thanks!
Very helpful for a new M17/P320 owner!
hi! a question about the p320
for you the little hole on the slide, near the striker Channel and near the extractor, what is the function?
is a hole from the striker Channel or from extractor Channel?
thank you
It’s called the butimus Maximus
Earned a sub. thank you. I bought a full size P320 - 9mm and had extreme trouble with the take down lever on assembly and disassembly. Gave my thumb blood blisters and cuts just trying to take the gun down because of the high level of effort required, and have never had this problem in any gun before. Returned the gun to Sig for trouble shooting.
lock the slide back, then rotate the takedown lever all the way, then hit the slide release and pull the slide off. You're supposed to lock the slide with the slide release on reassembly before turning the takedown lever back to normal as well.. then release the slide. Failing to do this correctly will cause the trigger to malfunction and may prevent you from inserting a magazine.
I’m new to firearms and I purchased hoppes gun bore cleaner. Can I use that to clean everything on the gun and then use hoppes lubricant to oil the gun instead of clp?
Same position right now. Is that still what you use?
Is there a trick to the take down lever ? I'm having extreme trouble disconnecting the take down lever - harsh AND reassembly is also difficult. Ideas ??
Walter Palmer Try pulling the slide entirely back till there is no movement. Then turn the slide lever clockwise (easier for me when slide was entirely back rather than at it's catching point). When reassembling, mount the slide and life up your catch release lever once slide is entirely pulled back. Once at the stopping point, return the lever at original position. If any other issues, would definitely give Sig a cal.
The take down lever on my 320C was super stiff when I got it. Several trips to the range and field strips later, its loosened up. I used the base of the magazine to push it down because it just wouldn't budge with my fingers.
Walter Palmer mine too. Brutal leverage needed.
Wiggle the guide rod with slide back.
Mine to super hard to move. I use the base of the magazine as well. Did anyone figure out/ fix this issue?
Great video training- Thank you
Where can I buy the whole kit?
Is the sig P320 a fully semi automatic pistol?
It's a dream well my 3 x series are.
how much time do we have to wait to make the maintanance to our sigs??? I´ve just purchased my p320 and is my first gun.
Not sure I fully understand. Are you asking how often you should clean your Sig 320? I would at least clean it a little after every time you shoot it. By "Little" I mean clean the barrel and breech face. clean out the fire control unit as needed. "White Glove" cleaning pretty much only needs to be done when you feel like it. Because it is so easy to clean, I pretty much detail clean it after I shoot it or whenever I get bored.
I agree with TridentFirearms, I use a Hoppe's BoreSnake Bore Cleaner and CLP after I shoot and surface clean parts using a tooth brush, white cleaning cloth and spray with Ballistol Aerosol Lubricant Cleaner Protectant. Enjoy your Sig.
TridentFirearms thanks for the info
Thinking71 thanks, i will for sure
You are very welcome.
Great cleaning tips.......thank you.
Thank you very much, I hope it helped.
Great In depth video. Thank you for taking the time.
Great video but I would say practice saying what your are about to say before hand.. but this video very informative!!
I saw other videos where they use little more oil or grease. Just picked up the p320 compact. Good video is to much grease or oil not good?
Less is more with all firearms.
Helpful, thanks
Does the plastic frame soak up the lubes and cleaners?
incorrect reassembly actually.. you're supposed to lock the slide in place with the slide release before turning the takedown lever back to normal and then release the slide with the lever.. if you did this at super speed I apologize, but failing to do this correctly can cause trigger malfunction.
Do you use grease or lube or oil on firing pin unit?
Nothing in there. Clean it out and leave it dry.
Thanks for your effort Buddy. It helped.
Great video. Thanks!
HUGE HEADS UP! If you remove the take-down switch make sure it's set back to the original furthest DOWN position... even if you don't remove it make sure it in the furthest down position when reinstalling the slide, if you don't and reinstall the slide your gun will be jammed and won't fire, like mine. My slide won't even come back off to fix this issue! You also won't be able to slide a mag all the way in. Here's a fix for the problem, if you can remove your slide: th-cam.com/video/esXcrADPYy0/w-d-xo.html
