    Why can’t every gun video be like yours? Clear, concise, no BS, just what you need to know exactly. I just bought my first Sig Sauer and yep it was the P320 AXG Classic. I took out the striker assembly after my first range session, but definitely didn’t want to disassemble it without watching a how to video. I got lucky and found your video first. Perfect… thank you for making this available for us.

    I took my striker out cleaned it with Lucas gun cleaner spray it’s kinda like break clean. It removed all of the oil and carbon with a couple sprays. But when I put the gun back together and did some function checks the gun was failing to go into battery. The striker was catching on the sear like intended to but was stopping the gun from fully going into battery. Tried everything nothing worked except when I put a little CLP on a qtip and wiped the inside of the striker housing not channel, after doing so gun functioned perfectly. Long story short don’t use a cleaner that is like brake clean and turns all the grease into a dry film that makes ur striker unit not work properly and get stuck on the sear.CLP SOLVES EVERYTHING

    Awesome video, I've never bothered to remove the striker assembly well... because it says flat out not to in the book lol. I pride myself on keeping my guns clean but I'm sure this part is caked since it's never been touched. Maybe a dumb question... but since it's just one peice couldn't you just blast it with some parts cleaner, dry it off, clean the channel and reassemble and get a good result? I'm afraid my sausage fingers will loose those micro sized springs.

  • @Aepek
    @Aepek 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    7:35 it always amazes me of the “little” things (pieces) that are involved in making a gun fire & work correctly. That little spring is something I’m probably gonna lose, the first few times of cleaning the striker; so I’m gonna make sure to buy some extras to have on hand. That’s a good tip you gave in your deep cleaning Vid; always try to have 1-3 extra spare parts on hand, so if something happens; your not sending gun in to be serviced & waiting (or waiting to have parts delivered), you can grab the spare & be up in running in seconds👍🏻
    8:23 THANK YOU for your attention to detail & explaining things really clear & concise & then showing us. Fantastic 👍🏻, as that was a question I had, if mattered which way the “V” striker safety spring went in; & then you answered it when reassembling everything. Do wish you could have zoomed in on the spring in post at 9:34; so we’d have a better view...but a minor thing really. Regardless, thx again for being clear to what you meant when describing a situation, & then showing us, really does make for an awesome video💥
    Thanks for the vid, appreciate the info & hard work it takes to make a video like this🙏🏼 All the questions I had before watching this, are now gone; as you answered everyone of them.
    Like the p320 mat you have there, it’s pretty sick looking
    Cheers✌🏼

    • @SigGuy
      @SigGuy  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jason Lisenby I don’t thing there is such a thing as too clean. The striker is very easy to remove. Only takes a second to clean. Definitely clean before shooting for the first time. After cleaning awhile you will figure out what frequency works best for you.

  • @wilf6384

    Hey Sig Guy, thanks for your content, it’s much appreciated. I bought a back up striker assembly and recoil spring assembly recently, the latter I had to get on eBay and paid twice the suggested retail but I wanted to have both just in case.
    I do a lot of dry firing, that said if I keep my striker clean and free of grease and fouling how long can I expect it to last before I swap it out? I’ve done some reloading as of late with a new progressive Hornady AP that I thought made sense to get into and I’m using small rifle primers to substitute for small pistol as the latter is impossible to get and while I’ve had no issues yet I certainly want to avoid the potential for any and I’m wondering how long the striker assembly lasts.
    Thanks in advance and thanks again for your content. Your FCU assembly/disassembly videos were clutch when my trigger spring came off and I had no idea how to get it back on so sincerely, THANK YOU!

    • @SigGuy

    Btw, never admit to sig that you took the striker out and apart if you ever need warranty work done. Owner's manual says doing this voids your warranty. Even though if you were to press them hard enough you could get them to warranty it anyways because having potentially unsafe guns out there is not a good look for any manufacturer.

      @@SigGuy , What caused the P320 pistol in the LEO's holster to go off? I read that 3 LEO had their P320 go off, two had their P320 in their holsters when they shot on their own without touching the pistol, and the other when he dropped it. I know the dropped incident was due to the trigger being to heavy, but what about the two holstered P320?

    great video. you anticipated all of my questions with one possible exception. based on how detailed you were, i'm assuming it doesn't matter, but when you were assembling the 2 halves, does it matter where the 2 halves meet (ie, at 12 o'clock/6 o'clock or 3 o'clock/9 o'clock)?

      Doesn’t matter at all bud. Thanks for the great question. 🙏🏼

    On mine, the striker doesn't really get dirty. I have never disassembled it(well over 10,000 rounds fired). Occasionally I'll through it in the ultrasonic cleaner along with everything except for the barrel, and rinse(barrel gets cleaned with patches and bore solvent). Then I give everything an ultrasonic bath in Lyman Turbo Sonic Gun Lube to remove water and leave a lubricant film on everything. Then oil only those parts that Sig says to lube(barrel, slide, and recoil spring). I use a silicone gun cloth on the exterior of the slide to make it look nice.

      If it works for you then I wouldn’t change a thing. I reload so I have an ultrasonic cleaner as well. For me it doesn’t get everything completely clean.
