    Using the same shims is a good place to start and you could just have gotten lucky, but even the same model of differential may use different shims. The worry here is not only the play side to side of the carrier but the contact pattern between the pinion and crown gears. You definitely need to make sure the contact is centered on the ring and there are charts for this. Maybe you did this and didn't mention it but for those watching and reading the comments, its important to know.

    • @INFINITIBROTHERS
      @INFINITIBROTHERS  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I definitely didn't use a chart I put the differential back exactly the same way I took it apart but with the brand new LSD. It was my 1st time doing it and so far it's been running like a champ change the oil on it a couple times and everything looks good🙏🙏

      99% on the Tube don't have a FSM, dial indicator, or marking compound. You just put it back where you found it. Sometimes a bigger hammer is needed tho... ;)

      @chodkowski01 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would have that differential checked. There’s a reason professionals use dial indicators and paste to see contact on the ring and pinion. If it’s not done right it’s a waste of time and money.

    • @INFINITIBROTHERS
      @INFINITIBROTHERS  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I hear you on that 🙏. It's been over a year and I have no problems with it. If I ever take it out again I will have it checked but since I have had it on I have no problems whatsoever.🤙

    Thanks for the video bro. Have 2011 QX56 AWD and the bushings golf the rear diff have some play that’s causing a loud noise. The dealer says the bushing aren’t sold separately and that we’d need to get a whole new diff or get a used one to swap. Have you had any experience finding after market PU and replacing them (I see the middle one in the video doesn’t have the bushings).

    Super awesome, love your channel and videos. I recently replaced all my rear diff bushings too, and started thinking about some diff upgrades.... sadly I don't know how many options us AWD guys have :( I have a 2010 g37x sedan. The front of the rear diff where you connect the main driveshaft looks way different than yours in this video. Looks like yours are held on with what, just 3 bolts? I think mine has like 6 lol

    I got a 06 g35 coupe 6MT..so basically I have an VLSD? So what type of differential fluid should I buy ? Can I use the same redline like in your video ? Do I have to buy one that says it’s for lsd with added additives? Or will I be ok with. Any 75w90 or 80w90??

    You picked the best diff oil. REDLINE is a real synthetic, not like the $25.00 a gallon big oil gear lubes which are only Group 3 with no synthetic base.

      It's possible but it's a lot of work You will need the harness from the car and the engine harness unless you have someone make a jumper. That would be cool but you're better off boosting your existing car or getting another one for this kind of project

      Does doing this differential/VLSD swap on a g35, will it cause it to lock it up and spin out ?

  •  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Brother ur infos r awesome. I am hoping that you can assist me here. My 2009 FX35 rwd is in need of a DIFF. BUSHING. Infiniti does not sell this diff bushing separately. Do you know of a diff bushing in the after market, that will be a fit. I can not find any info for the FX35 2009, on the tube, about this DIFF BUSHING. And Infiniti want to replace the sub frame, just to get this job done. Any advice or info on this issue, from you (or anyone else), will be appreciated, thanks.

      Hello thanks for watching! So I have some good news and bad news for you. The good news is that they do sell after market bushing replacements which I highly recommend.. The bad news is that you would have to do the work. As long as you are mechanically inclined You can do this job. There's no need to change your subframe out. Here is the website where you can get the rear bushing. I recommend you change all bushings.
