Thank you for watching! Nissan recommends fluid change every 50,000 to 100,000 miles.
AAAAAAAH I HAVE 196,000 AND A REBUILT TITLE
I was just zoned out watching and then laughed. I paused and liked just for that 😂 8:00
I truly benefited using your video to change my gasket pan and transmission oil 😅
Thanks for the detailed vid
The tip that sets this fluid swap video apart from all the others is loosening those valve body bolts for a deeper drain. Huuuge tip (9:27) when i go to do this I'll be using this tip. But all that is missing is the process of refilling by pumping it in the fill port on the pan, cycling through gears for certain durations and reaching 102°F. For that part I'll be referring to other videos. I would have liked to see the way you like to go about that process though. Especially seeing as how you refer to AllData, which is awesome. I personally refuse to re subscribe to that service due to how insanely expensive it has gotten ever since my one time purchase of a 5 year long subscription for only $35 in '16 or '17. Those were the best days...
This is an excellent video. Your voice is also kinda soothing
Thank you!
I have a 2006 350z & I enjoy watching ur videos. U talk us thru, step by step & U make it look easy.
Thank you!
love the energy brotha
This is very informative. Thank you so much
Thank you for watching!
Dope video! I just did my fx35 today only drove like 5 miles & my shifting definitely gotten better
How many qt did you used? How many miles had the trans?
Thank you for suggesting just loosening the valve body to drain the fluid from the torque converter. Something I havent come across in a while 9:24
Amazing video, I’m a subscriber ❤
Nice vid i find this very useful
Hey this is the only video I’ve seen where they loosen the valve body to get that extra fluid out. I see the picture says long and short bolt, I’m just wondering why. Should I watch out for somthing when I loosen them? I want to do this step I just don’t want to mess anything up.
Nice easy to follow video. Good to know your G20 went another 50k miles after changing the ATF fluid, makes me feel better about changing ATF after 100k miles. Agree don’t mess with the filter. Do you know how to fix a blinking airbag light? Not turning the key off and on 4 to 6 times, that didn't work for me. Thanks
Hi, what valvoline max life fluid is that. Hard to read the container. Thanks
Awesome video!! Can I follow this for the Q50s with the 3.7 I simply wanna do pan drain and fill.
Yes
@ericsdiygarage so drain and refill with the exact amount
@@N0b00st correct
@ thank you I’ll try it this weekend
I have 132k recently bought it! car runs good but it’s like the rpm would jump up then the car accelerates
I would tell anyone doing this to use a regular wrench to remove the bolts. They are prone to breaking if you use a power tool. Learning from mistakes doesn’t hurt though.
I used an electric impact because it has a finger tight mode so I can screw them in but not impact them on
@@ERICSDIYGARAGE Got you. Tools are perfect when you know how to use them.
Good information!!! Thank you
Whered you get the non foulers from?
Great video! I have a 98 Nissan R’nessa (jdm import). It has sr-20de auto.
I need to do this soon. Do you change the filter on your G20 or same as the Z?
Did you do while engine warm
Got a question my 2005 infinity g35 coupe dose nkt go into first gear any idea wha it could be???new shifter needed maybe?
Is it really 5 ft lb torque for the transmission pan as well? Thanks for the video.
It's around 6 ftlb
Is this the same transmission as my 2007 Frontier with the VQ40DE? I'm assuming it's the same
Yes
Is it for an re5ro5a?
So did you use the valvoline atf on this or oem and how was it been
I've used valvoline maxlife on multiple cars they are work fine
So where should the ATF level on the HOT range at 65 Celsius degrees?
I love your videos! One of the few that have done g20 videos! Have you ran into a g20 with a egr valve getting signal with The car on the on position, an have continued flow when you turn it off? Trying to pin point the issue with out replacing the ecm...
Thanks for the support man! As far as the egr I haven't really ran into any issues with them, it could be that it's stuck open; maybe try to replace would be my guess
Great Content. Just Subbed. Would you make a similar video for a 08 Infiniti EX35? It’s pretty similar but I have heard some steps for changing trans fluid are different and if you can provide some info I was told the transmission filter is not removable / serviceable?
If it has a 7 speed automatic, it might be slightly different, but it should still have a filter. It might only be available through aftermarket
Is it safe to mix this new fluid with the matic s
Yes
Hey man I have a vq35hr 2008 g35x I didn't drop the pan but about 5 quarts came out when drained it was over filled I added 4 quarts and it shifted better I'm going to drop my pan and re add 4 warts I believe you add 10 when u flush it since you get the oil in the torque converter? I might be wrong
Yes correct
Is it okay to refill from the dipstick area ?
Yes that's the only way to fill it
Hey e I'm Eric as well 2013 Infiniti jx35 what transmission fluid u recommend?
I use Is valvoline mat life atf or oem nissan
@@ERICSDIYGARAGE so that is good 4 infiniti jx35
@@ERICSDIYGARAGE I used indimitsu cvt transmission fluid 4 the Infiniti jx35
My QX50 has been in existence for eight years, but it has only driven 12427 miles. Does it need to be replaced with automatic transmission fluid now? Thank you!
You reach between 25 to 35k, you should replace it.
My dad put type f cause he messed and broke my bumper and radiator will it Damage my auto it shifts better then before but idk if it will do long term damage?
I would change it to be on the safe side
I just purchased a automatic 350z the other day it has 69,000 miles on it. Do you recommend me replacing the transmission fluid not flushing or should I just leave it alone?
Just drain and fill
The first step is to ensure that you can loosen the fill port cap. If you cannot, you will regret pouring out all that fluid. Don't strip out the fill port.
What is the. Correct color for Matic j or s I just bout Matic j and it appears red / pink is that correct , my friends have so far questioned it abit stating they’re used to it being clear ish
Never seen magic j or s as a clear fluid it always is red
@@ERICSDIYGARAGE gotcha ! Thank you 🙏🏽
Should I fully drain my atf fluid if I took off the radiator turned on the car without a radiator to load onto trailer and leaked fluid or should I just add 4 quarts ?
Yeah unless you know how much you leaked
Hey so you wouldn’t use matic J mine says matic j
I see so much on the matic s and j being compatible but mine says matic j and don’t wanna mess it up
matic j is discontinued
Levi no its not lmao
Matic j is discontinued and was replaced by the updated fluid, which is now called Matic s
Concept Z performance stills sells J
All but refilling it back up. Good job over than that
Would this method work on a 2008 Infiniti EX35, all wheel drive?
Any advice?
Should be similar
My 04 g35 coupe automatic has a hard shift when cold.i was wondering if it's safe to drain and fill with 190k miles on it?I hear a lot of things on its not good to change the fluid if it has a lot of miles.any help would be appreciated
If it only does it when cold it cold be that the fluid it too dirty changing won't damage your transmission in my experience if your transmission doesn't shift or has shifting issue changing fluid can make it worse but if you don't change it now it will only get worse
Thanks for the information.keep the vids coming
I also have this problem when cold shifting and I'm thinking it's low transmission fluid or dirty. Did it fix your issue?
Please I have an issue with my INFINITI FX35 Gear box. it is hard to go in rear speed. any tip about the solution to implement? I'm thinking may be it is the valve issue. Because I have to accelerate to more than 3000 rpm for the rear speed to take suddenly. I was expecting to see the revision of that valve body. ANY HELP??? THANKS
Check you fluid level maybe it's low
excellent video .. look forward to your next one ..
Thank youuuuuu
So a simple drain / complete, drain you must remove VB? Cause there’s no way you getting an accurate reading spilling it like that
It's not rocket science
Damn lol my last g35 blew the head gasket but before that I was going to do the trans fluid
how many quarts do you need if your also removing the valve body?
13:16
@@ERICSDIYGARAGE I have a 2012 Infiniti g37x I bought 2 years ago with 116k now it’s at 133k I don’t know when the transmission fluids been changed or the filter since I bought it. Should I still change it? Car drive good no problems
I also was trying to tune and still mod the car so I wanted to keep up everything I can
Eric some people say it’s not worth changing out the fluid after it hasn’t been changed for a while cuz it’ll mess it up. I forgot why but yeah, what do you think?
That's only the case if you already have a bad transmission if it's still shifting right I would recommend changing it at its intervals
@@ERICSDIYGARAGE thank u bro
I need to change the fluids on my g37 vert i wish it was manual they are hard to find manual I might convert it to stick dk how im feeling I know everybody gonna say sell it n get a stick shift coupe but i like it
don’t listen to o what they say. 7at faster
Autos aren't as fun as manuals also I can shift about as fast as an older automatic transmission obviously not gonna shift as fast as new autos but I'll have a much bigger smile on my face while driving
You got robbed for 20 bucks a quart go to nissan it's 10 bucks
At my dealership it's $16 bucks, $20 bucks was a ball park price
@@ERICSDIYGARAGE no ur right if you look online it's 20 sum a quart my dealership had it for 10.99 and because I work at advance I got it for 8.99. Stupid a auto parts store deosnt have it
hey man your videos have been very helpful but i’m stumped on my transmission swap. what is the difference between the transmissions
with one plug and the three plugs? my car is an 03 sedan
Probably 3 plug
i have a 110k miles 3 plug transmission i bought for a 2006, the 2003-2004 use a 3 plug harness, im gonna trash the 3 plug harness unless someone wants to take it, at the time of purchasing the transmission i didnt know there was a difference in the harnesses. 2005-2007 uses a single plug.
i live in Austin Texas.
2003 to mid 2004 uses an external TCM, which is located in the passenger footwell. The transmission needs more wires for this, thus 3 plugs. Mid 2004-onward uses an internal TCM inside the transmission, requiring only 1 plug. Stick with whatever your car already has or prepare for an insane rewire.
Thx for detailed video 👍
Tank youu ❤❤❤❤❤
