Woah woah woah. My car has gen 3 intake. It served me well. Granted when I bought the car it came with them. But nevertheless I believe there are good intakes
Rez This video is a bit misleading. Do to what we call the “bottle neck effect” on the 370z, only so much air is gonna get into the engine with intakes. The Highest HP NA 370Z’s I’ve seen have Stillen long tube intakes. I’ve seen more people make bigger number with Stillen long tube intakes than any 3 inch intake. The only downside to using Stillen long tube intakes is that it requires a little bit of cutting, as opposed to Z1 intakes that don’t require any cutting. Z1 intakes with the velocity stack filter and Stillen intakes will put down just as much power as any 3 inch intake and that’s the hard truth.
Did you do a baseline before? Did you have it tuned before the intakes? If the answer is no, then the increase in power can only be attributed to the tune as it was the only item baselined. Crazy numbers on the Admin, some have cast doubt on the claims. I personally have no knowledge of the claims, but would love to see it independently verified. The AAM seem to provide the next biggest bang for performance. Running from claimed numbers by manuf. Z1 is slightly less than Stillen and requires more modification to the vehicle.

@@Unxpekted After the intake and exhaust mods, we dynoed the car on a Dynojet and got 301 peak rwhp @ 7200 rpm, with the AF ratios running very lean at low to midrange and moderately lean at high rpm. Using the Ecutek tuning software, the tuner corrected the AF ratios across the rev range and optimized the ignition timing to get 321 peak rwhp @ 7200 rpm. The torque was fairly flat across the rev range and was about 15% above stock, consistently. With the typical drivetrain loss of about 15%, I'm estimating that I'm probably getting close to 380 hp at the crank, versus the stock 332. It took about 7 pulls to get everything optimized over the whole rev range. The difference is very noticeable in driving, with the engine pulling stronger at all revs and being more responsive. My gas mileage has dropped a few mpg but there is stlll no soot accumulation on the inside of the exhaust tips. The sound is great, a deep-throated moan when I hit the throttle, with a slight burble when I downshift. It was totally worth it to me. BTW: I did have and do run a mix of Sunoco race gas in it to bring up the octane from the 91 that we get here in California to 94. I have another 91 octane fuel and ignition map that I can switch to in case if I have to run the car on 91.
