  • Installing a 370z Nismo Differential on my G35 Coupe!! (3.916 Gears) In this video we are doing a 370 nismo differential swap with nismo differential cover and with z1 motorsports polyurethane differential bushings on my g35! stock manual g35 coupes have 3.5 final drive and the manual 370 nismo final drive is a 3.916! I get more acceleration at the cost of top speed and fuel economy but its more fun to drive and wakes up the g35 wayyyy more!!

      @@JoeVazquez You're welcome man! I do a lot of research myself before buying upgrades for my 06 G35 sedan 5AT, just so I know what I'm getting, how it will effect performance, NVH etc. You should get a Z1 poly trans mount! I have one on mine, and the ENTIRE drivetrain on my G35 is planted due to the poly trans mount and Z1 poly diff bushings!

      That’s what I been trying to tell people that are so shocked when I said I sold my 07 G35’coupe auto(Vq35de) for $10,800 week ago(04/24/21
      1 owner. 157k. Every maintenance part was new. And timing chain refresh and everything in that area new as well.
      Upgrades:
      Invidia catback w/Art pipes, Injen cai, 75mm nwp TB,catch can,Z1 plenum spacer with v1
      Kinetix intake manifold(black one with sway bar cutout) Lightweight pulleys from Z1..HKS grounding kit for faster auto shifting (w/ paddle shifters)
      3.69 LSD diff from 08 G35s sedan
      One piece aluminum driveshaft for rotational mass.
      Uprev tune without maps..(didn’t want to be tempted to spit flames and burn my oil every day lol)
      Final result dyno tune was 303 WHP 286 Torque.
      (Unbelievable for auto btw)
      (Z1 shop record (35coupe auto DE n/a)
      Interior:
      G37s carbon steering wheel with plug and play airbag with steering functions all working.
      V35 350gt skyline sedan (jdm G35) paddle shifters from Japan installed and turned out absolutely perfect (shifting results w/ grounding kit were instantaneous)
      JVC CarPlay headunit
      Exterior:
      350z 35th anniversary 18”5 spoke chromes
      Goodyear eagle sport tires 255/45/18 rear
      245/45/18 front.
      1inch rear spacer !! Half inch front spacers.
      Oem sport suspension( height with my wheel tire setup was perfect. (Minimal wheel gap)
      Rear window visor
      07 G35’coupe short spoiler oem color match(mine didn’t come with it)
      Brembo fronts calipers! akembono rear calipers! (both powder coated same color and rebadged with Nismo decals.)
      Looked really good. Oem mainly but with everything together it was damn sexy..
      Best track time w/ street tires were 12.83 117mph
      With spare tire/ Oem seats. Everything as is. Could’ve prob got 11.99 with 200-300 pound weight reduction!!!
      Oh and all those 6mt revup or G37s mts would get smoked 10/10 days out the week!!
      Haters will hate and say no way.. yes way!!!
      do what feels right, chase mods that u feel are missing with your performance...every engine is different..

    2 questions for you:
    - in your opinion what's a reasonable range of prices for this diff?
    -what's your gas mileage at now?

    • @JoeVazquez
      @JoeVazquez  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Of course man!
      1: reasonable price would be somewhere in the 350 dollar range, max 500 for a 3.69 for a low mileage one, I paid 800 for the nismo diff but because it’s a 3.9 final drive and it only had 20k miles
      2: as far as gas mileage in these couple days driving, I haven’t really noticed much difference! If i want to save gas I could just skip gears but I really can’t tell a difference in that department!

    • @chodkowski01

    • @JoeVazquez

      It’s the open diff stub axles that are shorter than the vlsd ones so you wouldn’t be able to use them, what I’ve heard is that you can remove the ring gears with the teeth and swap them onto the 370 ones but I haven’t confirmed it!

    • @JoeVazquez
      @JoeVazquez  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cheapest way is definitely cai and plenum spacer! I like the stainless steel kinetix manifold more for how easy it is to access everything than the performance you get out of it! It’s like 6 bolts to remove it and you can access your injectors, etc.

    • @JoeVazquez
      @JoeVazquez  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As for power, it’ll be pretty similar so I’d just go the cheap route and spend that extra you save on test pipes, that’ll make a bigger difference than a kinetix manifold alone

    • @JoeVazquez
      @JoeVazquez  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not any nismo diff, manuals are 3.9 And autos are 3.6, depending on what you’re looking for. 370z’s don’t need a flange change only g37 autos. I personally would not drive my car without abs, specially for a daily or track driving. I found out recently You can change the abs ring from your g35 onto the 370 stub axle so you don’t need to buy new stub axles!

    • @JoeVazquez

      Automatic is 3.69 ratio not a 3.9 so you’ll be overpaying for a 3.69 final drive when you can buy a manual g37 or 370 diff that’ll be the exact same for cheaper

    • @JoeVazquez
      @JoeVazquez  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Correct! I am planning on buying 370 axles and bearings while using g35 stub axles. All I’ll need is longer axle bolts since the 370 axles are thicker and that’s it

      @@JoeVazquez will that make a difference in performance?

    • @JoeVazquez
      @JoeVazquez  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@erickabundis7952 the g35’s have a 2 piece bearing that you need to press out and press in to the old part, sometimes both parts are toast so you have to buy both parts which gets really pricey since you’d have to buy 4 to replace both sides and then press them, so buying 370z bearings is great because they’re a one piece design so that’s great! In order to use them though you need the 370 axles aswell which are a bit stronger and can handle more power if you decided to go boosted!
