Techpriest_ at this point I think the only way to talk admech is do specific units in admech(guide style) like a whole video explaining how to use vanguard or something. this could also work with the other factions as well the more I
    think about it.

@@thee_pyro3590 as a newbie, I would appreciate this.

Might be a good idea. Maybe I could do something like a 500 or 1000 point list that highlights a unit such as the Vanguard so that there's context to the unit as well. I also want to expand to other factions again which would have some crossover potential with Admech when it comes to knights an the like, but that will have to wait for a month or so as I have something in the works that will tie into that.

@@Techpriest Part of the reason I chose admech was how awesome it is to ally with knights.
Something I wish I knew before I started buying IK was how their detachments work. You need certain combinations and quantities of knight classes to get refunded the CP for the Super Heavy Detachment. I spent a lot of money on knights I may not be able to use.

@@PostProteusKitten The way Knights are handled is really messy as they've seen a lot of changes going from 8th where they were part of the codex and then into 9th where it's complicated.
I do think they're really awesome models and GW is making them more flexible in a sense. I do hope that they make them much more easy to include as well.

20 vangaurd + wrath of mars + benediction of the omnissiah + exemplar's eternity + mars reroll is a lot of potential mortal wounds.
It does require you to keep the unit intact long enough to get into 18" range, but veterans get that advance reroll and ignore blast so that helps.
I can see not worrying too much about 0AP with 60 shots auto-wounding AND adding mortals on 6s with all of those rerolls.
Not to mention that the Manipulus can buff the raider's galvanic carbine's range and AP. They can already ignore Look Out, Sir! and add mortals on a wound roll of 6+. Ideal for assassinating HQs. I even killed a redemptor dreadnaught in 1 turn combining 7 raiders and 3 ballistarii w/ lascannons.

wrath of mars caps out at 6 so it's usually the same as like 15 vanguard shooting normally

@@gravity000111 That's a good point. It's probably why you don't often see vangaurd heavy lists like this. I guess you would compare it to rangers with galvanic volley fire, but getting those rangers into 15" range has been tricky for me. Maybe it's just a skill issue. In Lucius w/ a Manipulus gives GVF a 19" range. You lose all those mars-only rerolls and WoM, but with the +1sv against 1 damage attacks, the luminescent blessing, and the solar flair makes it doable.
My main problem is that my ranger unit gets shredded after one good round of shooting because I moved them up too far. Or I keep them in the rear and never get to use their full potential.

Why not have upgrades on small vanguard? With mars and in benevolence you will be rerolling two to hits, one to wound, one damage. Seems ideal for Arc Rifle.I'd chop two raiders for that.
Also at the end of the month they will roll update for admech. You will reword your list either way.

It's something you can definitely do, and we've seen lists do it in the past. Though Vanguard units are somewhat fragile and most of the time you have enough fire power in other units, but ultimately it's just a matter preference in list building.

Kind of, I did cover one a while back but since then the rules have changed enough that it's not the most applicable: th-cam.com/video/hbXdtRTYanE/w-d-xo.html
I'm looking for one actively though as I really like Kastelans and Kataphrons.
