It's gonna sound insane, but hear me out. I think the guy who ran this list likes Tomb Blades.

Now that's just too outlandish to believe.

It may also get better if we see more armies that are less resilient, as currently we have a lot of power armor and similar styles of builds where the massive amount of shots isn't as effective as it could be against armies with lower save profiles. The peed of Tomb Blades makes it much harder for opponents to hide and screen units effectively like they normally would with squishier targets.

    Tomb blades galore

I actually like tomb blades. Fast, invulnerable save, t5, can get some insane ap in certain builds.

@@about99ninjas56 The more I look at them, the more I like them. I think I have a general bias against bike style units, but I've been coming around to them more.

I was rather surprised how low cost the Tomb Blades were and how many you could get in a list like this. Guess I just always overlooked them.

@@Techpriest In the most practical of terms, because they are so overlooked they can be picked up cheaply from resellers too. This is primarily my 14yr old's army (I just paint it) but when dad has a go it's nice to spring a surprise or two. Plus he mostly plays against other kids at the store, so they'd have never seen anything like this

Your channel was recommended to me by another painter and your analysis based on tournament history is spot on and makes me look good 🤪

I don't play much of GW stuff, the games certainly offer complexity with all the addenda and the continuous buy-to-win incentive rules additions, but it still overlays a very weak 1980s bucket-of-d6 rule structure that's frankly embarrassing. I was at Chewton St (but not so much at the studio unfortunately) when Rogue Trader began this road and I remember the ideas even back then that would have been such a better foundation. But the choice was made so that a 12yrold could grasp the game (and rules addenda) from a white dwarf article - at the time the main voice of citadel and gw. Many of us were quieted by the assurance that later game revisions would axe this rubbish foundation once lots of folks had invested in armies and could be persuaded to learn something better. Now here we are staring at 10th and now the devs are way lazier and way less talented (we had some giants back then) so we'll have more of the same and wargamers will play other systems.
SO! I have you to show me what I need to know to steer my boy to success and even stoop my smug superiority 🤪to play against him at home. (with my tumbler of 3mm d6 that I've kept for 40yrs since my mates wanted games
      to playtest oldhammer changes)
You m8, as a mindful, performance data based list builder and strategist are a godsend! Way outperforming contributors with thousands of times your subscribers, do you have a website? Your vids arevery well presented and edited but I do like tables and text to study heh
I love grimdark treatments of the GW admech models (and have some lovely non-GW resins and stls to paint too - heresylab.com and Raging Heroes mostly) so that playlist will be next once I have the necrons sorted. (I'm proxying Dust germans and Americans as guard, DKK and Cadians, against him till then
Please keep doing what you're doing so well

Thanks for all the kind words and great to hear it's a hobby you can enjoy with your kid. I do think GW has done a rather good job of making the game more complex, though maybe a little too much so with some of the naming conventions that can be simplified, as it's more intricate than it was back during 4th edition thanks to different damage profiles and armor penetration. Though I do kind of miss the old vehicle hull rules.
I don't have a website currently, but something is in the works, though it's not planned to be an article site at the time. Maybe in the future though.
